Whenever an MMO is localized to the West from a different country, there are a whole host of challenges involved. Not only does all of the dialogue have to be translated, but content has to be localized as well. Material may have to be changed or censored or updated for a new audience and payment models are almost never the same.

I'm surprised that keeping up with patches from Korea isn't included on the list. It's like you guys never play imported MMOs. Recently they have expanded available races for certain classes and it would be a shame that at NA/EU release, this expansion isn't available.

I just see B&S as yet another Korean offering picked off a very wide and packed shelf. Over sexualized and anatomically disproportionate females and super cute child-like races? NCSoft? Reasons enough for me (as if there weren't enough on the pile) to add this to my Completely Disinterested list.
I am just looking forward to finally see it coming out.
I think the timing of releasing something like this is really important. If they had launched it in the West early this year it would basically have had no competition. Or if they had launched it in the West soon after release in Korea it would have had all the hype about great graphics and action combat behind it. Now its coming out possibly at a similar time to next gen games like Black Desert which is kind of bad timing imo.

They are missing the most important point. the game needs to be the same version the korean version currently is.
Every time one of these fucking games comes out, its always a year behind patch and content wise, then they wonder why it doesnt last over here.

Patch updates have nothing to do with why their games aren't as popular in the Western market. There will always be a niche crowd in EU and NA that enjoys the anime stylization and heavy Cash Shop dependence, but they aren't the meat and potatoes demographic in Asia that they rely on for sustenance.
great points in this list. I would have squeezed "specialty servers" in at some point, AKA an RP server.
also good examples of NC's cash shop systems being decent- L2 and Aion both have very reasonable cash shops... which brings me to my own #1 if this were my list...
.... 1a) CLAMP DOWN ON BOTS. I'd be playing l2 to this day if it weren't the bot fest it is. i am sure other L2 lovers would agree.

This comment is particularly offensive since there's a lot of people that are skinny and not anorexic especially in Asia. My wife is naturally skinny and saying that to her would be offensive.
I wouldn't call it anorexia, I'd call it something else if I could find the words... Something like whorey-chic (I don't mean it in any kind of good way!), and the wing-things are just plain ridiculous.

ncsoft have always been nice toward their own developers in korea but for western developers they have been nightmare as soon as the dev group fail to provide result. ncsoft also the only company that follow the same business model on both eastern and western market when it comes to ported games; which also includes exactly the same cash shop design(of course the price is different). since they only port their own games it never feels like a crap ton of mess dropped on western players, recent dilemma being AA where trion have absolutely no control over the game.

This is what it was like trying to kill someone who had a legendary weapon.
Shamelessly stolen from the general, those items single-handedly ruined all non-Korean versions of Arena-PVP. (Koreans use a fixed stat system for Arena.)

I just hope they dont censor the NA version. I think we are adult enough not to be offended by extra skin. Just put some cloths on to your character, period.
If they censor the NA version and treat us like a bunch of crying babies that find everything offensive then i will stick to the Russian servers. I dont mind their broken english patch.
lol, games close. Get over it. CoH had its day and it was over when they closed it. Every game company shuts down games and your standards will have you playing no games =-P
It's not better. It is simply the newest, shiniest thing to talk about. In a couple of months, it will be discarded on an ever growing pile of used and abandoned toys.
If I remember right, this is the company that made Lineage. This is a long awaited game for Lineage fans.
Y'all play games, but have no imagination.
