Actually according to their age laws, he can sue the boy himself as they consider him an adult.

They swatted his house, bomb threat on the plane he was on, and DDoS attacks on Daybreak/SoE servers.  If the Feds can bring a good case to the table in international courts, the kid could be extradited and tried in America for federal cyber crime and terrorist charges.  Smed wouldn't have to lift a finger.

That also goes for anyone else who is found guilty of anything having to do with LS since they all could be charged with conspiracy.  Which wouldn't be hard to do since they seem to take the credit for a lot of things.

And that is why I pray that him taunting them into action is part of a sting, catch the little twerps red handed

And then what? Give them all 2 year suspended sentences?

What do you propose ..... patting them on the back and sending them out for icecream?  It's not a wonder the world is going to poop in a handbasket....

maybe taunting them is exactly what it seems, if I knew I had the government watching my back i sure as hell would coax them out of hiding, to catch them red handed.

That's what I'm really curious about, I want to see if it's just Smed being a loudmouth idiot or is he actually trying to lure out the LS.

While possible, seems a big risk to take.

Thing is, if Smed had just gone through the court systems for his upcoming cases, Smed would have been fine. The kid would have gotten whatever punishment comes from those cases, Smed could sue him, and LS would most likely have done nothing. By trying to publicly challenge and intimidate Lizard Squad, he threw the gauntlet down and they picked it up and smacked him in the face with it.

Would you willingly go into /4chan and dare them to dox you? Would you dare Anonymous to find the skeletons you're sure you buried? No, you wouldn't, because there's a difference between standing up for yourself vs. going full retard. Sometimes mouths overload asses, which is what Smed did in this case.

Acting afraid of these people would do nothing but empower them, that said they would do something regardless of what smed said... They have been for how long now? And to think they wouldn't do it in retaliation for going after this kid is quite asinine. This group is doing it for they LOLZ.... Their own words. they have no real motivation, aside from one that drives folks to make posts like this, actually caring what some guy in the video game industry does, or says...... It's adolescent BS that doesn't matter to anyone who has a grasp on reality and what really matters in life.

Heh, they'd be under the jurisdiction of the American courts which means that if they are convicted under charges of terrorism and conspiracy to commit terrorism they would be locked in a federal penitentiary for a very long time.  Age means nothing under those charges.

He might have gotten a slap on the wrist for the cyber crimes, but he wouldn't if charged for the rest.

I am sure it isn't Smed. After all they did to get smed's plane down last time I am sure the government wants those idiots.

Pretty sure it's almost impossible to track to people running DDOS attacks, esp if they know how to bounce their tracks.  Wishful thinking though.

If it was easy to track down perpetrators of DDOS attacks, they would be a lot less common.

All they have to do is take out the lizardman shamans first.  Take out the healers and it's cake from there on.

Well the kid sounds pretty disturbed however it does not change the fact that I think daybreak is a bad and greedy company and will only get worse over time, to me they are just another soe, now I really do not know what happened with the ceo maybe the kid hacked his emails and saw what kind of greedy person he was or something or assumed because of cuts maybe? But that kid is probably no better. Whatever he did to the ceo was probably undeserved regardless.

The guy is old enough to be prosecuted as an adult in courts. If Smed wants to take legal action against the guy, that's his fight.

But threatening to go after the guys parents are way beyond crossing the line. Imagine you and I got into an altercation and I threatened to take it out on your family, how would you feel? How would your friends feel? How would your family feel?

Smed crossed the line. He may not have deserved it before, he deserves something now. Lord knows what I would do to someone if they threatened my family.

    It's Smedley, he deserved it.

He deserved having his father's grave desecrated? He deserved to have his plane forced down? He deserved to be 'swatted'? He deserved all the other crap done to him over a fucking video game?

If you really believe that, you are one sick, disgusting, worthless human being.

TBH a ceo with that much money having his plane delay is hardly a struggle it probably was for other people on the plane, unless he was on his way to see his family, but a bomb threat is still way to extreme, most ceo for companies are not nice people without a soul, and hardly understand anything about hardwork. I have no idea what the swatted part means.

IN the sense of law in the united states it's completely in his options to do so it's a civil liability statute for parents to be liable for such things such as law suit., how that would work out internationally is anyone's guess,  probably not very well, yet anything is possible. People act like Smed threatened physical harm to the kids family, or he's going to put a hit out on them.

In the end this kid would be responsible for any legal actions taken, with 49,999 charges left to go, don't be surprised if his family is in fact held responsible for certain actions he has taken.

The parents SHOULD be able to be sued if the fault can be deemed partially theirs (AKA crappy parenting)  There are way too many parents out there that don't have enough of a brain in their heads to own a goldfish, let alone raise a child.  Its' unfortunate that there isn't something stopping the "less than capable" from procreating.

Sooner or later Smed masters will give up on keeping another loud mouth "old school" "game developer" around. Maybe by then they will have a game worth playing, I lost interest in eq2 when they destroyed Freeport.

Is there no possibility of bringing a civil suit against the parents ?

Lotro has hobbits and pies :) GW2 has asura which are almost as good as WoW gnomes, never liked eq2 gnomes much, ratonga race was much more fun.

I'd go after the guy as fervently as I could but I'd never consider going after his parents. There are bad parents out there for sure but no one is raising their kid to be a hacker. At worst, his parents are guilty of being ignorant, literally millions of parents are. Going after his parents is a punk move done by a manchild in a suit.

Smed is already being more silent and polite, they likely already had a little talk with him. To avoid repeating myself:

I guess his Russian masters talked to him in the meantime.
