I'm on the fence. Loved gw2 for a year. Just no challenge in it. If they make it a challenge and not just grind it could be good. I'll wait a month post release to see where it is at.

Edit, meant a month post raid release

There are those who are still stuck in that mentality sadly. But here's the newest kicker. They nerfed the rewards in PVP, they nerfed the rewards in PVPVE, they nerfed the rewards in PVE open world, now they are nerfing the dungeons. So all those dungeoneers that said "QQ" when we told them how terrible they were at rewards are now getting a taste of karma.

Haven't even looked at this, but if it takes the game back in the direction of GW1, I will definitely be interested.

I was very hyped for GW2 but just never really got into it at launch.  just not feeling anything positive or negative toward the expansion.   GW2 wasn't a bad game.  It just never hooked me.

My hype meter was kind of low, and I'm an active player. But that changed last beta weekend when I got my scrapper. I hope it goes deeper than that, but it's exactly what I wanted for my engineer.

I log into it, 1 maybe 2 times a month. X pac is so far from my list of games to buy, if ever.

lunch HoT at same time as heloween events, who have this idea deserve this rly best idea in 3y , after 3y experience with anet patch lunch i expect a lot of DC, hotfix etc and as bonus, they fuck up BOTH part of game, HoT AND heloween in one hit rly http://www.reactiongifs.us/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/slow_clap_citizen_kane.gif

Zero interest for me - haven't played GW2 since launch month, have zero desire to even patch  the game again.

As long as downscaling exists I'll never touch it again.

I think GW2 is a great game for those that don't mind the downscaling, for me it's an absolute deal breaker.
For me downscaling renders traditional levels entirely redundant. Either have levels and accept the fact people will be over-powered for lower level zones, or don't have traditional levels and find alternative systems of advancement, whether that be small incremental improvements, skill-based advancement, achievements, caps... whatever. Downscaling just hurts more than it heals.

imho downscaling isnt bad things, i made my second 80 in queensdale, which is 1-15lvl zone and never get bored, but it was in time, when there was 5 champions, later this was nerfed to vets, so now its not that fun, but still possible.  anyway, downscaling lower only your life/dmg/gear stats, but all your lvl 80 skils are working, so yes, you are at 20% of your lvl 80 abilities, but you can still owned anything in low lvl zones singlehanded like boss

I'm leaning towards the idea that the HoT release will be good but it will inevitably have a few event/encounter balancing tweaks before it feels solid. I think the beta tests helped solidify the classes so we'll have to see how the content works.

What I am most interested in is the theoretical castlevania feel to it. What I'm fearing is the skill grinds to do certain raid bosses, buuut raid bosses are meant to be super hard so I guess / hope that I will be able to get most of the requirements while exploring.

Play for fun. Play to win. Play for perfection. Play with friends. Play in another world. Why do you play?

Their push for competitive pvp interests me somewhat, the division's should be a good thing.  I always thought it was strange that they were pushing their game as an esport prior to launch, yet it had no rating system for spvp.  It was not fun to queue with a team and get obvious pugs or teams below our skill level 99% of the time in those tournament things.
  • d_20d_20 Member RarePosts: 1,878
I might pick it up when it goes on sale for $9.99. But mainly, just play GW2 for pvp. If I don't need the xpac for sPVP, then I probably won't be buying it.

HoT is all lvl80 content, to my understanding there will not be downscaling. If you can ignore central Tyria this expansion might be for you.

GW2 was not a bad game. But it all falls flat when you realise there is zero character progression.
You play a week and you have reached all you can reach with your character. After that is only thing to progress grind so you can get one cosmetic item that has different particle effect.

And the expansion does not even change that. So, no...im not hyped at all
