A better more honest review would be swtor has upped its story and dumbed down its game...The companions are all the same now so i dont understand the need for so many of them? the alliance thing is quite pointless as well after having done that story its laughable that anyone would need an "alliance" after that story. Id say more but dont want to ruin it for others. Overall A+ on story F- on companions and pointless alliance.
The level sync thing was pointless as well. Bioware/EA claimed level sync was to help you level better by allowing you level wherever you wanted and on older planets but you hit cap so fast that this makes level syncing pointless and REALLY anoying when your trying to do things at cap like aggro and other stuff it actually downgrades the game imo.
No new fp or raids that i saw just a rehashing of older content and trying to force people to do heroics they didnt want to do in the first place instead of realizing this bioware/ea try to make you do them anyways?
They destroyed HK having him "was" a blast now hes just a nerfed to hell protocol droid its really sad had they just left the companions alone and not done this idiot level sync this would have been a hit.
Overall great story but everything else is depressing honestly as usual "it could have been so much more" that seems to be the problem in general with tor what it could be versus the depressing reality.
Will be interesting to see the end review. Is this a another WoD? Finely crafted, solid single player experience etc. but on the mmo side of the scales ...... ?
the problem with this game is that they have locked warzones and operations etc to subscribers only.
3 operations or warzones per week is a joke.
I dont have problem to buy expansions but the current pay model ea is using it's just dumb.
It is clear that they want to push people into subscription by limiting vital game aspects but the way they do it is the wrong one.
You cant force people to do something, the right thing is to charm them to do something.
I'm REALLY loving this expansion. Totally impressed with what they have delivered here and it looks like most people actually in the game playing it are also loving it. There's a lot of very positive feedback and conversation going on in-game. I didn't know quite what to expect with this expansion and I had my doubts, but honestly those doubts are gone. They've totally nailed it.
I think that if this game did not have the Star wars brand attached to it, all this discussion would not be happening at all. The game on it's own doesn't stand.
What are you even talking about? The game is extremely popular, people play & stick around. This shows that the game is a good and popular game, so that shows the game does stand on it's own. Their market reports, combined with the enormous amount of around the clock activity on the servers totally contradict what you're trying to say. Just because you don't like something does not mean that game isn't good or isn't capable of "standing". I would certainly play this game regardless of what franchise it was because it is fun, and I love what BioWare does as do a lot of people.
Going back you are trying to quote every positive response and down-play the game to that person. Stop it, it looks desperate. If you don't like something, fine, but that doesn't negate the very obvious popularity of the game or take away the enjoyment people are having with it. You look like one of those people who even when someone or something you have an issue with succeeds, your response is the "rohhh well thhey did this wrong and it's really not good at all rahrahrabblerabble."
I understand that Wichita Falls TX is an agonizingly boring and desolate place, but please. Trying to rain on peoples parade is unnecessary.
I just came from reading up on their official forums....and it seems they have REMOVED alot from the game!!
You can't put customizable gear on comps just for looks?? Why?? Have to do pvp to get a certain comp...haven't they learned their lesson on forced pvp?? These examples seem just to be some of the more milder ones that I have found. If you're interested go check their forums.
And is this a sponsored posting or something??
Sadly, you've been misinformed regarding companion attire. You can indeed customize the looks of your companions (except for those that had specific customization's to begin with, such as Treek, Khem Val, etc...). The huge change is that gear stats on companions do not contribute to the effectiveness of said companion. No longer do you need to mod-build your companions, as their stats are derived from your stats and influence level.
Can't comment on the 'forced pvp' aspect, though. I've not read anything regarding this, but on the 27th I'll be able to being playing the KotFE and see for myself.
Thus far, game is really good. I'm really enjoying the changes made...even level sync, lol. Many hate it, but I enjoy it.
Absolutely love the streamlined planet heroic missions (with instant-travel to them), as it finally feels like you're in a galaxy far, far away that is able to use "shuttles" as a mean to travel (aka using the warping teleport to said heroic).
Also, being able to choose solo mode on certain flashpoints is a great addition. The gear drops are not as good, but the trade-off is that you're able to enjoy the storyline, experience the flashpoint, finish the mission, gain good xp, then move on. I love options.
Level sync is fun as well. No longer can you "out-level" a planet, but can remain to finish all the missions you desire, finish whatever stories you choose, and not be penalized because the mobs are 'gray'. Makes not sense that a mob on one planet would be easier to kill than another mob of the same type on a different planet. They should always be a threat to a player.
Now, if SWTOR would just allowed shared mob-tagging...that would be icing on the cake. Actually reward people for helping someone else, and do away with standing aside while waiting for that particular mission-mob to respawn.
All-in-all, SWTOR keeps getting better, in my opinion. It's an enjoyable process, and this is actually one of the few MMOs that I have no problem subscribing to, as I enjoy it immensely.
Give it a try and see for yourself. You might be pleasantly surprised.
Making a big deal over adding more lore to a game that already has nothing going for it except for the story. If it didn't work the first 15 times it's not going to work now.

They aren't locked to subscribers only, its just that subscribers don't have to pay for a weekly unlock for them. This is how the F2P market works, if you don't like that kind of thing, then F2P games are probably not your thing.
Been playing Swtor none stop since the pre release of the expansion... I have to agree, the story is very good. Bioware knows how to tell a story. Its now a singel player game yes, and we will get monthly updates starting early next year. other then DCUO what other mmo does something like that? Bash the game of the past. Swtor has evolved and its now among the best story telling mmos there is. There is group content. Doing the new instanses in a group will even have a diffrent outcome then the solo version of the instanse.
Swtor knocks the ball out of the park with this expansion. for those who bash the game now, you haent played the new stuff. and sadly dont know what your talking about.
I LOVE the companion changes. They make the game much more enjoyable for me.
I play SWTOR as a single player game with the option to group if I want to for pve or to pvp.
This is how one should look at SWToR.
Complaining about the failings of the games pvp/grouping/starships isnt going to make it any different. These functions have always been lacking, however all the changes made in 4.0 bring the game to what many believe it should have been in the first place... a single player game with coop play features.
like i said the story was awesome but everything else is pointless. Not to give spoilers away but the story is so powerful that it makes the content afterwards honestly pointless lol. After doing that story and having your goodworthwhile comps taken away from you to make this "alliance" is a outright joke and its why after i do the stories on my toons i just log out.
I have more companions then i ever used in the first place and the ones i did use they take away "for story purposes" they claim trying to make me redo heroics i also didnt want to do in the first place to get even more companions that i wont need or use either lol. On top of that all the companions are the same now so why do i need more of them? When i do use comps i use hk and hes maxed out thank god ea didnt take him from me. Its quite depressing to see how badly hk is nerfed and basically the ship droid now pretty sad
It seems like ea poured all its funds into battlefront 3 and considers tor a flop and not worth investing in anymore thats what i got out of this x pac so far. 180 million was invested into battlefront 3 just saying
A great single player game with an update that would definitely bring people back if not to just try it out. Have to agree that without the Star Wars name it would probably already be dead.

You think? without the SW name do you think they could get away with monetizing action bar, mission reward, hide head slot feature, flashpoint loot, pvp match limit? There are many f2p games that get trashed by the article writers of this vary site for having "bad" f2p monetization but not this game.

So by your logic if a company isn't pouring 200 Million into a game every year then it's not worth investing into anymore.. never mind the costs of keeping the game running daily alone or creating new xpacs.. none of that shows their commitment to the product.. OH! okay thanks for that I didn't know.
