Where's the outrage? Forgive the question, but after months of outrage over the perceived scam that SC is, why is there no outrage over people actually being scammed?

Somehow a real scam is "hilarious"
I would assume it's because getting scammed by BettyBigTits is funny and getting scammed by a large company isn't.
Right... so it's not a double standard at all. :)

The story does paint a big picture,it really says how naive people are and how lame lots of males act as soon as they see it is a women,a single mother no less.

You can then understand how naive these same people are in handing over money to CIG.

I noticed something said that once again says VERY naive. There was mention of "we are all on board to this amazing game".Well sorry but MOST were on board while there was still NOTHING at all,so to be so naive as to think amazing game when there is no game is really beyond naive,it is imo dumb.Even if you have money to waste, throw around it is still dumb,it is a promised video game nothing more.

You are not feeding the poor the sick or even giving to the needy you are handing money over to a very rich person. Not only a rich person but one that has been in the industry a long time as well as his brother and i am sure has a lot of connections.SO do you really think he needed to ask for money from gamers instead of securing his own investors, nope not one bit that is why it is dumb more than naive.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

To be fair, some sources say that after his failed movie producer career with lots of failed projects, lawsuits over $8 million by Kevin Costner his connections and financial situation was less than rosy.

They weren't naive, they expected to get sex from the model. They were retarded. There's a difference. Anyways, CIG is already scamming millions because this game will never deliver, so who really is the dumb one.

Listen kids, A crowd funded title on this scale has never happened before. To make it happen they need money, lots of money (Destiny spent 500m and brought shite). To make that money they need to encourage backing past their KS campaign.

So OP, in all your obvious wisdom and business savy do you expect them to do that without selling ships?

"Oh I wish they would stop making ships and make the damn game" Yeah kids, all these ships needed to be made at some point FOR THE GAME... so really just trolling by saying that.. or showing you have no concept of game development.

I have said it before, and I will say it again, RSI/SC wont ruin crowd funding, people like the OP will. Then we can all go back to hating on publishers that force devs to ruin their games I guess.

If you're going to rant, you should at least read the OP. Or the title. That works too.

Did you even read the OP or did you just come here to preach the StarCitizen gospel? What you wrote has nothing to do with the OP at all. Not even remotely.

Why do you not tell us about how Kevin Costner settled this lawsuit in view of a cross-complaint against Creative Artists Agency, the talent agency that had represented Costner since 1996 ?

And this is my fear with this game, that with time will evolve into EVE Online, when people like this "Betsy" comes and scam people and stupid people here applaud the scam makes you cringe at the future of the game and in reality was not SC who got scammed out of ships, were the generous players who got scammed out of ships, so shame on you OP for pretending that this is a hilarious matter. SHAME ON YOU!!!

Nah, no time, they are hard at work producing "The Smarty", also called "Battlecruiser 2945 a.D." (thats German for "außer Dienst", out of order). That ship is constantly breaking down and floating dead in space.

They patiently explained all things around this game.

I have to say the same... well done to those Star Citizens who helped out a single Mother (they had been mislead by their intent was good). I applaude them for not being jaded like me and choosing to help. I am already too jaded from too many times myself helping out and getting shafted. Way to go :)

The thought that keeps popping in my head is that this woman could have been legit and actually a single mother, and when the Star Citizens helped Her, would we have heard anything at all about this gesture of generosity? Doubtful we would have and that's what's really sad.

Too bad it was the fracking Goons being asshats... I despise them. I'm not surprised they would think of something bogus like this. It's not funny one bit. I seriously hope someday the Goons, the lot of them, get caught in a Sting operation or something similar and get some of that good old karma payback.

Because it's not the Star Citizens that reached out to help someone that's the problem... they did well, and I am one of those who won't have anything to do with Star citizen project at all. I'm happy to hear about this story. Might be some hope left in this world after all.

Wait a minute. According to opponents of GamerGate, Bettysbigtits should have been harassed nonstop, threatened to be raped, etc.

However, here we see "her" getting free stuff. Interesting.
We have to immediately send someone to the UN and share this outrageous behavior with the nations. This can not be tolerated. It is sexist behavior!

Anita Sarkeesian and Zoe Quinn, a survivor of cyber violence, speaks at the launch of the new UN report titled Cyber Violence Against Women and Girls: A Worldwide Wake-Up Call.

2 things where obvious and people didn't notice.

1. The name no respectful mother would call herself that

2. If you want information about a game you find out for yourself not ask your mother especially when it comes to playing a game, it would be you playing the game so you find out for yourself.

I am not laughing as i don't find it funny but as for others well that is up to them what they do, but it's the internet so not so surprising to me, it use to be shock me what people would say over the internet but not any more.

Like i have said before don't believe everything someone tells you over the internet or even in person as well.

You call them naive but aren't those the kind of people we want as friends? Someone who would help you out if you needed it? It makes me cringe when people applaud scamming in any form. 20 years ago this would have caused an outrage but today it is funny. I'm scared to think of what the internet will be like in another 20 years.
Well i would agree with you if not for the fact that they gave their ships to an alleged mother with a posting history in erotic forums that calls herself BettysBigTits on an internet forum. I think you can be called "somewhat naive" if you do that.

If this was less obvious i would totally be on your side. I am not applauding scamming, i am sad and disturbed that there are so many people out there that fall for an obvious scam like this one.

It scares me more to think that these people are allowed to drive cars and go outside the house.
They were naive, true but i think they were not trying to be judgmental of a person's preferences, like what they do for living(in this case a porn model) or what they like to talk about. People just tried to be nice to a person who wanted to do something for her son despite being who she is, yes i would call her some names and tell her to fuck off but these people genuinely wanted to be helpful. But yes they were really naive...

Boobs are LIFE, Boobs are LOVE, Boobs are JUSTICE, Boobs are mankind's HOPES and DREAMS. People who complain about boobs have lost their humanity.

No, I'm talking about "some guy" with a questionable history.
