I dropped 250 when the game announced the Constellation. I am currently waiting to buy the Vanguard Warden and/or the Retaliatory and the Redeemer. I may end up with all three but who knows at this point. I do have hopes for the game, I love the direction CR is going and I enjoy what has been accomplished so far. I see this game replacing my EVE sub, and I look forward to a long time in this game.
It's been said that all these fancy ships will be available in-game, so you don't really need to shell out a dime.
Sort of. I believe the limited custom variants are for backer only. You can get the standard version of any ship in-game probably.
So you say it's 100% P2W.
When you have cake, it is not the cake that creates the most magnificent of experiences, but it is the emotions attached to it. The cake is a lie.
What I want to know from the thread title above is, why did the OP uses a title with a homosexual connotations to as a question about how much people spent on Star Citizens so far.
Is he trying to imply something here that is potentially offensive?
A bunch of loud mouth dimwits gank some new player in a big exploration/personal transport ship that isn't designed to fight back, and that is supposed to prove something?
I'm all in on this one!!! 25$.... They better deliver or Else I will go full retard. After all $25 is heavens away from free to play, so yeah I want my moneys worth!
When you go full retard remember that you chose that path. If the game ends up being good, after launch, ill buy it so i dont have to go full retard then point fingers at them knowing it was my own fault for wasting money on dreams.

I hear you Bro! It takes a lot to put $25 on the line, but as you said, wasting it on a dream. I'm a dreamer, but we Shall see if reality hits me in the face. If it does, I will take it like a champ and go full retard (Cant really go full retard if you havent invested personally, then it would just be trolling/whining).

EVERY ship and EVERY variant will be available in game for in game currency earned in game. Same goes for equipment, down to decor and flair items. Its a design principle of Star Citizen.
Which does NOT mean it will be easy to get - you may have to achieve good standing with certain factions like the UEE Navy to be offered some items (e.g. decommisioned capital ships).

AH, yes. That is why I always qualify the P2W definition with the "can REALISTICLY be gained" by playing. It is not enough that it is theoreticly possible, it has tp be realisticly possible.
As we know that insurance cost will be quite low ... who needs LTI ?
You cannot respawn-zerg every 5 minutes like in EVE with a permadeath mechanism in a game like SC ... every few deaths you have to create a new character (which takes time). And only respawn-zerg is useful with something like LTI.
LTI is not better than normal insurance. It saves a few bucks .. and like in EVE, i cared about insurance for the first 14 days in the game (of all the 11 years I am now playing EVE). After that one generally has enough in game cash that insurance is a non-issue.
Have fun
PS:
Same in Elite:Dangerous. In game cash was an issue for the first 14 days. After that money gained through trading made ship insurance a trivial thing.
Quoting him twice for some reason... Making an absolute pointless comparison...
I think he quoted him (twice) because of his (pointless ?) answer :
This was the OPs question: "Seriously if you are a true fan and believe in the project please share
how much you have spent and what you believe will happen."
and then ((C) by @FrodoFragins) answer it with this: "$0... I don't believe in this project"
Its in the very question of the OP that he does NOT ask those who have contributed NOTHING to the project, but only those that have backed it (aka the fans).

Nope, never said that. The variants do not alter ship specs, it's a cosmetic like collector editions.
Title is missleading, I thought coming out of the closet means you're gay but finally you're open to admit it in front of others. Then again English is not my primary language.

Just kidding FrodoFragins.
In War - Victory.
In Peace - Vigilance.
In Death - Sacrifice.
Nah, it's more like not believing in phrenology.
If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.

And that aside: LTI - Not possibel to gain.
So yeah, priciple and priciple...

You are a nice example of how SC people are thinking.
