Did this game become any more group friendly?

Why anyone group for questing ?   Seriously ?   Why shouldn't that be an option ?  What's the drawback ?

I get why people dont like solo questlines that end up in a forced group thing like a dungeon or a raid,  and i dont mind one bit that thoose dungeons and raids gets a solo version for the people that just want to see the story.  Why would anyone be so fanaticly solo that they dont want people who like to experience the game with friends to be able to do soloquests together ?

It's not like beeing able to group up for soloquests takes anything away for the players that actually solo those quests.  I just dont get why anyone would object to that.

It's a bad trend in the genre: excluding group players from the world and shunting them to instances.

I play it with three other people. We don't do any crafting and only wear what we pick up. Without pushing our builds to the cutting edge we make a great group.

Just like you had to prepare yourself for soloing in EQ, you have to prepare yourself for grouping in ESO. Just don't build solo-focused characters and you can group perfectly fine. In fact, in some of the harder missions and the group dungeons have been quite the challenge.

'Sandbox MMO' is a PTSD trigger word for anyone who has the experience to know that anonymous players invariably use a 'sandbox' in the same manner a housecat does.

No game is more fun than the one you can't play, and no game is more boring than one which you've become familiar.

There is only one group dungeon in each main area that does the undaunted quests. Everything else is solo dungeons. Not sure what you are talking about. There are what maybe 6 to 8 dungeons that are group for each faction?

I played it when it first came out, and I really enjoyed the way they did the classes and skills.  I also enjoyed the world.  The only real reason I quit was the total lack of grouping.  Sure I had done a few dungeon runs with groups, which were really fun!  But other than that I kept hearing there was no grouping until end game really.  Has this changed at all?

Yes it has changed. It is now much easier to group to do content and there seems to be less phasing issues. I don't know the technical details concerning what has been changed, but when I played through the content with a friend recently we were able to stay grouped. The only exception was certain sections that you had to do by yourself, like the vampire quest for becoming a vampire, mages guild quests etc.

What I am talking about was said in the post you quoted.

If you don't build to be optimal, then even much of the solo content can be grouped and some of it can be challenging. Don't spend those skill points. Nobody is forcing you.

    It's always the same;

This game doesn't have severe enough death penalty: So make it more severe, delete your character when you die!

This game doesn't have challenging PvP: So make it more challenging, don't build the best character!

This game doesn't support grouping: So make it support grouping by making your characters too weak to solo! You have gaming friends, right? They like to group up, right? There ya go, all your problems solved.

These are simple problems and not worth lamenting. YOU HAVE CONTROL. Do it.

Sounds unfortunately like much hasn't changed surrounding grouping.  I absolutely hate solo questing for long periods of time.  I can do it here and there, but I play MMORPGs for a reason. I really enjoyed this game, but it got soooooooo boring going through the straight line of quests completely alone most of the time. I don't have RL friends that play video games (I'm a closet gamer), so if a game makes it difficult to group/find groups, then I just don't have any motivation or interest in playing it.  If I wanted to play a single player game I would go play one.  I gave Elder Scrolls a shot too, but that world felt so giant yet so empty.  Sad, but I'm glad people enjoy the game for what it is and that it's doing well.  I'm not a fan of single player games, and I'm of the belief that MMOs should stay mostly group-oriented.

You dont have to quest at all. There are grind groups going all the time and dungeon run groups etc. Some just find out which quests give skill points and do those and nothing else.

ROFL, yes I wrote that! The real scary part about what you wrote is you had nothing better to say to refute it!

I group with a static group from my guild with voluntarily limited characters twice a week. We'd love for it to be more often, but we're all working professionals with families, and don't have the time available to a sit at home high school drop out welfare recipient.

If you can't manage to do this, fine. That's your limitation, not the game's. But in the end, it is an option, and for me and my static group, a lot of fun.

Nope never dropped out, retired now but also disabled. just another old man that loves his online games, from UO beta.

I can understand you thinking you should have an answer to what I found to be hilarious. But more I think about it, I guess you could play it that way. They do say play it your way.  But you also are pointing out one of the big problems with the game and with MMO's in general. They have made it way to easy.

But it does remind me of something that happened in UO a long time ago. There was a high (max) character in the game who was just a bully and would PvP in lets say BS ways and picked on everyone who was real low level or I should say low in stats because after all that was what made UO. One day about 2 dozen players got together and made new characters and jumped him, took his house key after killing him and destroyed his house. The guy lost just about everything and he didn't bother anyone after that day. In fact I think he was never seen again.

    Ahhhhhhh the old days!

group friendly: group instance that you will mostly complete via guild help or groupiong tool at the decent scaling of vr16 in level 10 gears

group friendly : craglorn group quest and instances, IC orsinium raids and group instances, otherwise dolmens and  world bosses and any quests can all be solo'd may it be normal  silver or gold story mode.

  • SammybonesSammybones Member UncommonPosts: 18
@dreamer05 If you really like grouping up, I recomend you get the Wrothgar Orsinium DLC they added, it has an amazing story, much improved from the base levels, and everything is made for grouping. They have extremely hard world bosses that inspires players to group up and kill them for rewards. The phasing in the Orsinium DLC isnt an issue like how launch was at first. Perfect if not the best place for group leveling, and enjoyment! Also, if you want even better graphics I recomend you try out this mod called ESO graphics enhancer, and SweetFX/Reshade! Heres link... http://tamrielfoundry.com/topic/eso-launcher-graphics-enhancer-2/
I promise once you get the newer graphics theres no going back to the base game graphics!
