Is this game worth $100?

Whether it is worth $100 is subjective to how much time you plan to spend on it. It is not $100 for getting beta/early access, that is just a small part of the package. You get $25 worth of cash shop currency, a mount that will otherwise take weeks to acquire ingame, some highly useful utility items and exclusive vanity items. It is basically like a collector's edition version, and this one has a lot more useful things in it than most MMO collector editions are. It is certainly not worth $100 to try it out, but if you already know you like and plan to spend a good amount of time playing it, this is one special edition that is worth considering.

You can buy the $29.99 edition and have $70 to spend on the vanity items you want.  Better yet, save that $70 to buy expansions as they release!

I've bought at least a half dozen founders packs in the past, and I have come to the conclusion that you forget all about the stuff you get with them in less than 6 weeks, other than things that would cost real money, like character slots and pearls (or whatever currency the game you buy uses).  If there were real money items in the higher editions, that would make them more appealing to me and other people.

I support the business model they are using, I think it is the best one of all of them.  But I don't support 'pay to beta' and buying extra stuff you won't care about in a few weeks, especially for a game that a person has never played.

The world is going to the dogs, which is just how I planned it!

Not sure if the game is worth $100, but if there are things in the conquerors package that interests you and you have the money, might as well get it.

I like to have everything in MMOs, especially if those items are timed exclusives, so I opted for the $100 package, event though I think that the $50 package is the best value for money. Also, because of school, I won't get the participate in the first closed beta :( hehe.

I opted to buy a beta key on ebay for 9 bucks...figure that saves me some dough in the long run if I decide not to play

Thanks for this son, just spent $10 and the key worked great.  Wasn't going to spend $100 lol.

After being burned by my SWTOR Collector's Edition purchase, I will never again pay more than standard edition fees.

Much as i hate to say it but nope... wont even be putting the min $30 down if they keep the limiting energy system.

Not going to pay for a lesser limited experience than i got on the KR server.

I heard this game was B2P in na/eu but looking at the "packs" it sure doesn't look B2P.

The idea that the $100 pack gets twice as much head start as the $50 pack which in turn gets twice as much head start as the $30 pack has "This game is going to be nakedly pay to win"  written all over it.

Even NCsoft doesn't try and pull that kind of thing.

How does a head start = pay to win? Nothing you get in the more expensive packs gives you any sort of advantage.

That's like saying since I can't start playing until Monday, but you play all weekend that the game is somehow unfair.

Just played the closed beta.  NOT WORTH 100$.  Possibly worth 20-30$ once it goes live.

People pay it and a LOT more.LIkely a few hundred people have already spent 2/3/400 on SC and it's not even a game yet.I know i have seen some packages selling in some games for around 2500-5000 i think i even saw a 10,000 package which of course should come with an idiot hat to wear in public.

Ok, fair enough, this is nowhere near SC territory.

SC is a crowdfunding title, people pledged for its creation. This is the case of pre-order I'm not sure why are you comparing the two. - Anyway I don't want to derail.

I myself made a lot of pledges but to the ideas I liked and I believed they might blossom as a good game. But I don't pre-order games to see if I like them or not. So I say wait for reviews to come out before trying it or fish for a free beta key.

My apologies to the mods if this part is against the rules but you can buy a beta key for $5 now. So invest $5 first, if you liked the game then purchase whatever package you wanted to.

It's B2P there will be no open beta. Maybe they'll do a weekend stress test. Unless things have changed since last time I have checked.

Well i´d say both the Sims series and any subscription MMO ever would disagree with you. =P

But that is the beauty of it, we are al different people. For me a season pass to football is not worth it neither is the entry fee to a "fancy" nightclub. But i am a collector of gaming merch so to me the WoW, SW:ToR and WAR CE´s where worth it. I have a friend who is a cigar aficionado and get really excited over the prospect of trying new and different blends of tobacco...

We aree all different and we all have hobbies we obsess over.. That is what splits the real geeks from the weekend nerds and closet gamers. =) =P

So it can absolutely be worth 100 dollars to some people, just as it is worth nothing to others. As said before.. it is subjective.

This have been a good conversation

Interesting, I pay CCP over $700 per year to play EVE and it is well worth it to me.

the game is very nice , im currently enjoying the close beta a lot.   even though there is a lack of classes for west version,  the game is still fun and I always find myself with many different things to do.   is not the kind of mmo where you either left alone with either doing pvp or pve.

the game offers so many things that you will surely going to be busy, either fishing making money,  or crafting or getting things for your house, decorating your house, crafting yourself boats, taming horses.

exploring it is nicely done in this game.    you feel like you are almost playing the witcher 3 sometimes but with more things to do other than questing.

beautiful game that will keep you entertained for a very long time.  I think it is worthy.

still some bugs and lack of content but this is just first closed beta  things can only get better hopefully.

the game it is very complex so if you don-t have patience to learn everything, and I mean tons of things.   you probably will be bored fast.

most beautiful mmo ive played so far.    it is the perfect MMO for roleplayers.
