Is there a reason why World of Warcraft is an option for The Best MMO of 2015 but not Eve Online?

Edit: And yes, I realize the options are picked by the staff, but I have a hard time imagining that no one thought to include the game that has won the award multiple times in the past.

It hasn't had a particularly interesting year. Even WoW was almost not included, but pretty much everyone agreed that it deserved to be there, despite Draenor's rough spots the second half of the year. EVE, on the other hand, seems to be losing subscribers and foothold in the genre. This, combined with the fact that it has won in the past on several occasions (we don't want it to flood the voting again, based on fan marching orders) means we decided to not include it this year.  It's the same reason we chose not to include W101, P101, or Marvel Heroes, really. We could include every game on the list, but chose to curate a select few.  If none of the options work for you, feel free to use the "show me the results" option.

Final Fantasy and ESO came out on top this year for sure.

SWTOR had 10 hours of content and people die over it even though they barely get content and this "EXPAC" of theirs does not include and new FP's or OP's. What a joke to even add SWTOR. KOTFE should be considered a "PATCH" and not "EXPAC".

Why was Imperial City instead of Orsinium picked for ESO as the Best MMO Expansion candidate? You can just remove it from the competition already. And I am honestly surprised that it did get some votes LOL

It was tough to pick, but IC is easily the more "impactful" set of changes added to the game this year. So while Orsinium was my personal favorite, IC was deemed to be more of a broadly painting brush.

Bill, the most "Impactful" and broadly painted brush for ESO in 2015 was Update 6 which added both the Champion and Justice system to the game.

witcher 3 and witcher 3 Heart of stone got my votes :D can wait for blood and wine!

Mmorpgs this year meh... the only mmorpg i still play is FFXIV and has been failing later on , the expansion was cool in 3.0 , 3 new classes , new zones , new dungeons and trials, flying , but 3.1 has been "meh" outside Thordan , and the new Relic quests has been a let down... if SE doesnt start working again and delivers in 3.2.....is gonna be a death sentence...

the new Expansion for Swtor was cool story wise , but they added nothing outside that...the new stats (mastery ) and the new gearing method for leveling sucks (im an alt-coholic)

Yep, I agree with Dominoid. Update 6 was the most impactful. Even then, I would still put Orsimium above IC. Its been the best DLC/Expansion Ive seen for a game in awhile

What a sad year for mmo's if ESO takes the cake. Not too bad of a year for rpg's though, The Witcher 3 running away with more awards. The SWTOR expansion may not be very "mmo-like" but still enjoyed it more than any of the other options.

Imperial City was easily the "worst" update of the 3 ESO had this year..With the votes it got, I'm pretty sure Update 6 or Orsinium would have won this category.

I refuse to vote, they're all shit and most aren't even MMOs.

When a single player update gets the most vote for best mmo expansion.... 2015 was either a huge let down or people did not experience enough of what was delivered by mmo developers.

Yeah the mmos are a joke now, nothing worthwhile.

Poor Sword Coast Legends. That wasn't even the best RPG released that month, let alone the year.

Rift did pretty good. Metal Gear Solid V also did some nice things.

Altho i believe Darkest Dungeon is a briliant game and voted for it cause you put it there , it wont release till 2016 .. And why is it listed .... ?

Altho i also believe it is a better game even in it EA state than all the others in its catergory, so i voted for it ..

Its also from a small indie developer ,and you are putting it against AAA titles from big stduios,Shouldnt there be an Indie of the year catergory , that it would better fit into ...

for a second I actually thought "Just Show Me the Result" is a game name xD
  • CryptorCryptor Member UncommonPosts: 523
The fact that SWtOR made it on this list is laughable.
  • simsalabim77simsalabim77 Member RarePosts: 1,607
I voted for WoW because it's the best MMO I've played this year.

ESO Orsinium would most likely win. I disagree with it being left out in the cold.
