Those who stump up the cash to support the game in the form of premium membership should be prioritized (in things like login queues). It makes perfect business sense.
However this isn't unsual for 1) a new game and 2) those 4k+ subscribers stuck in wow queues at peak times, you know, when wow was popular and the developers were still developing the game.

Yeah but B&S is gray around the edges and NCsoft has been around the block a few times and should know better.
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
Well ... here's an idea. If you can't raise a child properly, how about you don't make one in the first place? Seems like a reasonable concept right?
Is there some sort of pre-test you can take? Most parents, obviously, are unaware of their badness.
Should there be an application process, please submit these application forms for your review?
Well its not too hard to figure out you are not fit if you are going to be unable to spend time with your kids. Or you are unable to provide for yourself, what's left for a child that needs new clothes every couple of months for the next 18 years to say the least. It really is a simple arithmetic. I don't know what's so hard for people to grasp when I tell them to keep it in their pants if they plan on raising an asshole. Anyhow, that's derailing the subject too much. It wasn't my point to do so, so enough of this.
I understand the frustration. Hell I even refuse to give them money until I feel they are worth it. But I am not sitting in que getting angry. I am playing other things in my spare time and when the ques reside, I will stroll into the game and see what all the commotion is about.
its not being over dramatic when you have to wait for hours to login only to find bots everywhere spamming and no afk feature to kick players. All this sort of stuff should of been done before release like most games. Maybe I just expect way to much from ncsoft. When you add all that together and the pay to get in faster queue setup the guy has a right to be pissed off.
If this was some players first experience with launch/headstart - yes. If this was a 2nd or 3rd - sure.
But after 17+ years of MMO launches - how can anyone in their right mind be pissed off at stuff that is completely expected?
This.
I pretty much have given up on playing MMO´s.
These days MMO´s are nothing but Casino infested money grab so called F2P bonanza´s. Has nothing to do with gaming anymore, but how you can lure people into spending as much money as possible! Just like a.... that´s right....you´re average Casino or mobile game.
The only MMO I play now and then still is FFXIV. That´s pretty much it. I have more fun playing single player RPG these days, like Fallout 4, DA:Inquisition (yup started over again hehe) and playing Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon with my little son.
This thread is a waste of virtual ink. I spent 70 some odd bucks on a founders pack and it took me 35 minutes to log in last night. Just chill, things will clear up soon. Uninstall? Really??
Well, I paid and there was still a 700+ Q when I tried to log on during prime time last night. So no, they arent trying to make you pay, even the paying customers are in Q's. The game is worth it.
Yes there are gold spammer bots, but I cant remember the last launch of a game where there wasnt. It takes about 30 seconds to block them all and then its all quiet after that.
Only thing they really should have done, which I cant believe games dont launch with this ( some triple A games have launched without this feature too ) is have an auto kick on AFK players. That would help the Q.
Queues are normal for any newly released MMO (or new to a large market like B&S is) I logged in and played around a bit, its interesting, but im going to wait a month or so for things to die down before i give it a real go. My computer also isnt really up to modern games anymore (still using ddr2 ram and a 6950) but i should get doing a new build next month some time.
As far as the queues go, It really shouldnt have been unexpected imo.
Lemme guess you PLEBS rolled on MUSHIN on my server correct? gtfo if you dont want a que go to a less populated less popular server, I heard old man cho dont have que times OLD MAN CHO server wants YOU!
TLTR: Get a JOB and STOP complaning about PREMIUM membership nothing is FREE in this world!
I'll see you plebs in the arena come at me brah! as soon as the servers go up i'll work my way to DIAMOND ELO. and then some open world Ganking :proud:
Come on just buy the 5$ pack with 7 days premium like everyone else does. Then you get in faster ! (hey wait if everyone does that is does not get faster does it ? :P) ROTFL... PWNED..
Well if it's anything like ArcheAge, the player base spent most of their time running in circles when they weren't actually playing. This meant they never had to log off, gave them precious labor points, plus leveled their mounts.
They had to resort to player notifications of AFK players due to all the creative ways players bypassed the system. Given the age of this game, odds are, the 'bots' and players are exploiting the system in the very same way as they did when it originally launched in the east.
And ask yourself this simple question... why would they wait to employ an AFK kick feature when they know it's going to happen? Pitchforks were raised at Trion at launch for the very same problems as BnS is experiencing right now... it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know it was going to happen.
I wonder if players would understand the literal caps if the developer said:
"We're launching with 6 servers, each can only accommodate 2000 players simultaneously."
Imagine prime time... from 3PM to midnight being when the queues are the worst.
Imagine another possibility... people clogging the queues because they can... a poor man's version of DnS attacks. I picture some nerd having multiple accounts and just logging into them all during prime time just to keep players from playing.
Their queues sound super excessive, but it's not unheard of. New servers usually solve the problem, but then a couple of months later they need to start merging them as the population goes down fairly drastically.
I wonder how many of those in the free queue are just gold spammer bots. Can anyone playing tell us what the spam is like in game, or if there actually is any?
Honestly not that many. I've only blocked 5 or 6 so far, and that was including the gold spammers in headstart. Of course, I also had the common sense to roll on a lower-pop server - I'm sure Mushin's gold spam is horrible.
Is this really surprising that there are artificial queues at launch when you can get a premium to bypass the queues? Does anyone here really think these queues are real? Come on guys, this is marketing and F2P money making standard 101. Everyone knows these queues are artificial and only there to make you pay at least one month.

This is actually not true. Premium players are in queues too. I hit a 700+ one last night.

NCSoft always have the players' best interests at heart !
They were more than happy to give players another option other than buying a full month of Premium. Instead of having to fork over $15 for a full month, players can pay the low, low price of $5 for a whole 7 days of premium access !
That should nicely cover the first week of heavy queues. It sounds like it was a very popular offer...
I think it is pretty obvious that NCsoft had this strategy from the start. Having a que in a game that supports multiple channels is just stupid. You can't tell me that a company like NCsoft doesn't have the ability to expand server capacity in short order. They don't have to open new servers or anything. They know the game will initially have a huge amount of players since it is F2P. I'm not buying premium just so I can get in the short line when they have thousands of bots taking up space. This is just another F2P scam. Yeah sure you can download the game for free, but if you actually want to play it that will be 15$ a month please. Enough with this bullshit. Just charge a fee up front and eliminate 90% of the hackers and spammers.

So you're saying they are purposely scamming people in order to get people to buy premium. But then the people actually playing are telling you that premiums have a que too. So are they purposely trying to piss off the people playing too?
Final fantasy 14 was p2p and had the most gold spammers i ever seen in a game. was the only game i turned of whole chat groups in ever.

In the past you put in your game, clicked ON, and it worked.
-no download
-no queue
-no registration
-no DRM
After 10 seconds you were playing the game.

Also, I remember having to mess about with config.sys and autoexec.bat files to try and free up more conventional memory to get games to run.
