What F2p MMO hasn't gone through this? Give it a week or two and no que. Everyone wants to be part of the stamped. :-)
Think this is bad. Wait till the masses start complaining about classes being OP and the nerf bat starts swinging.

Impatient people, demanding, NOW! NOW! NOW! I bet you hate going to nice places to eat. Yes, this mentality is the McDonalds era, Millennial thinking. MY TIME IS TOO VALUABLE TO SIT HERE FOR 30 MINUTES !!! I WANT MY 15.00 a month RIGHT NOW !!! I NEED IT NOW !!!!
It does not matter WHAT the company is or what the game is. NOW!
Seriously, were I playing a game that had queues, I would be pleased in knowing that my game was not dying out. Bored people, stopping in to "try out" a game....not ANY measure of assurances of revenue. So, no sympathy on my end for that .
Reminds me of all of the failed games that launched with no queues......As a generation X member, we seem to be a bit less self-entitled and demanding for everything right now. Less critical for oversights, mistakes and less likely to /whine over a delay
they would have loved it when everquest , ruins of kunark and scar of velious were the shit and queues were still alive in the world of 56k internet connection or when diablo 2 would kick you out to make room for more queues because it was over played thos maggots of the modern bieber mmorpg days would have commited suicide long ago.
Quite a queue....but 39 for premium, perhaps tosd them 5 bucks?
That's something I'm not willing to do. Blade&Soul is a Free To Play game and if I have to pay in order to be able to play (or wait 6 hours to be able to play for 10 minutes) then I don't consider Blade&Soul to be a F2P, not yet at the very least. Also, paying them at this stage would show "support" for that sort of business and I'm completely against it. Same goes for founder packs which is yet another new norm in the MMO industry ... paying for the right to test a game...absolutely stupid.
Don't mistake me for being cheap though, I generally spend a decent amount of money on F2P titles every year if I like them, but I get to play them for a reasonable amount of time.

From the standpoint of opportunity costs, you do realize that if you consider your time more valuable than money, then you are only hurting yourself by taking such a stubborned stance. Sitting in a queue for hours on end is not only not cost effective, but it is not a constructive way to spend your time, nor is it worth the frustration that it brings upon you. $5 is less than the minimum wage. If the minimum wage is $9, by paying it you are basically getting back a better ROI after roughly 30-40 minutes of your lifetime than had you not payed it all and sat in a queue for one hour, much less 5 or more as some players are saying they are doing.
No F2P game is theoretically free. Playing the game alone is paying with your valuable time. The time you spend playing the game, you could be doing other things including earning money. Its called opportunity costs. When you see the big picture, and understand the true meaning of time vs. money, paying the $5 dollars is a wise investment expense. Those $5 will bring you not only entertainment, but peace of mind for 7 days. After that the queues will die down and you can go back to playing the game for "free" for as long as you like.

I only stayed in queue to see how long it would take to show how stupid their queue system is. I had some work to do so I wasn't doing much "waiting" until at least 9 PM anyway, but still...I had been in queue since 4 PM for a wait time estimated at 55 minutes that finally ended at 10:50 PM.
And free to play means that a game requires no cost to enter the game and play. That's all it means and let's not get into semantics about the cost of time and all of that, I'll be the judge of how I spend my own time and money. I'm fine with paying to access certain content in a F2P, I see nothing wrong with that (although depending on the content that may be a poor choice from the publishers). But paying to access the game falls into the B2P (or even P2P) category, not F2P. Now yes, Blade&Soul is a F2P, but its current form makes VIP almost necessary to access the game, which sort of counters the purpose of the F2P model. Of course that will not be true anymore in 2 weeks because the hype will have died down and NCSoft will have made all the money they wanted in the first 2-3 days of launch from people wanting to get ahead of the queue. Actually brilliant for a business, but horrible for customers in the long term as it is only setting a precedent for all other publishers telling them "Look at them! Not only are they willing to purchase overpriced founders pack giving them the 'privilege' to test our game for us, but they're willing to pay an additional $5 just to enter a F2P game! LOL".
Title pretty much says it it all. They purposely made it nearly impossible to even log into the game unless you give them money...F2P has gone to an all new low.
@Gravarg they made a few new servers and the current ones are getting spread out bit by bit

Yup. Rolled on Gunma, haven't seen a queue once and there's still tons of people in game. Admittedly, I did try to roll on Old Man Cho at first, and saw the 4k+ queue.
EDIT: Well, I'll be a SoB. Just logged in, and got a queue for the first time on Gunma. Position 494. Esitimated wait time 8 minutes. Certainly not as bad as 4k+ but still a tad of an annoyance. Ah well, that's launch week.

r.i.p quality gaming.
you rolled on one of the more crowded servers. I wouldn't expect an easy time getting in for a while
