Black Desert is what old school players have been waiting for.
I agree. I held reservations about it after the first Beta test but by the end of the second I was preordering the game. In a day and age when new games within this genre come out are just MMOs this game is an MMORPG.
I know a lot of old school players on this site that have been waiting a long time for a game like this.
When was the last game that even came designed around mob grinding. Lineage 2 back in 2003?

Funny you should mention Lineage 2 as an example, considering it tanked hard in the west. Can BDO do what Lineage 2 utterly failed to do? i really don't know, but its yet another PVP orientated game with PVE as an afterthought, despite a certain vocal minority that seem to think PVP is the be all and end all, PVP games in reality, tend to struggle, a lot, and if there isn't a decent PVE game at the back of it, then, good luck retaining players. Black Desert is what old school players have been waiting for. honestly is a statement easily on a par with Smedleys famous statement about h1z1 and how SWG vets can come home now. You can't honestly say something like that, and not expect people to laugh, you just can't.

Lineage 2 was a pay to play mmo for almost 10 years in the West. Lineage 2 is still here today and gets regular content updates.
Like I said,
World Wide Numbers are what matters and NC Soft releases it reports every quarter.
Also how the game performed has nothing to do with a mechanic that not only Lineage 2 had but alot of games had like Everquest and Final Fantasy XI. All those games were Grind games.
