When do you think BDO will tank, i.e. go aggresive P2W

I really don't care :) I'm interested in finding people who roleplay and play the open ended PVP game this could be, if other people are "winning" that doesn't have much impact on my fun...

OR .. you know, they fix the cash shop prices? or introduce something that makes the reason for B2P. Daum listens .. trust me, they listened to the complete and utter EXPLOSION of QQ when the Cash Shop was going to be released on the 10th, and not headstart. ( lol .. ) but yeah, we have a Q&A tommorow that'll be the last prior to release, so that should have good information.

I feel like Daum is going to come through - and I can't wait til they do, so I can basically throw up the middle finger to everyone who stopped playing all because of CBT2 cash shop prices.

PS - All mammals have nipples.

    Get over it already.

    Agreed :)
Seriously, I don't even understand why this thread is still here, it brings absolutely nothing to the forum except the usual assumptions of premature failure you always have coming from a selected few.

Guess you'll be playing on the US servers, Distopia?
Yep, I'm in the US I'll be picking it up about a week or two after launch, I usually let the lag etc.. settle a bit before jumping in.

I just had to vote to use the last option, couldn't pass it up :proud:

But I think it will follow the GW2 model going forward.
I hope it follows the GW2 model, but for that to work Daum will have to be more flexible with some cash shop upgrades, like inventory and stuff. GW2 base game allows you to expand bags quite a bit before i started using the cash shop, which was a lot better.

If that's really the case, if you really think BDO will go P2W within a month and you don't mind being ganked and griefed by P2W 'players' and love mass PVP... you should play Archeage, mass 200 vs 200 open world PVP as well as  70vs70 castle sieges and some serious RP opportunities.

If you don't mind this type of things though, as you say:

I dont see the harm in the thread. Sometimes it fun to guess and see who ends up being right or wrong =-) And if you get a few venters who hate the game. Well they were going to vent either way, be it here or another thread about another topic.

Hopefully Day 1. Then the screaming entitlement crowd will leave, the whales will control end-game, and then I can actually have some fun with people who care about more than some pre-conceived, self-serving notion of "winning", or furthermore, answer to threads that work under the assumption that predicting a declining population equates to increased internet libido.

But of course, this option wasn't present.

Everyone knows that going heavy P2Win makes games fail hard in EU/US..   its been proven time and time again...

And Daum knows... maybe there will be some small advancements for sale, but nothing big.  I am also convinced they will lower prices of the costumes and other expensive stuff as soon as they find out people are not buying into that..

You know its easier to sell 30 apples for a dollar each, then selling a box of apples for $15...   the money of a cash shop is in the multitude of buys and not in high prices..

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

What's the difference between getting beat by a guy who bought a weapon in a cash shop and being beat by a guy who bought a Jedi off ebay? WHat's the difference between a guy who owns land because he paid for it in a cash shop, and the guy who bought a town off ebay? ... To me.. nothing...Just as it's no different than being beat by the guy who hacks in a FPS... I've been dealing with this stuff since I first started playing MMORPGs in 2002.

Again, with that mindset, Archeage is the perfect dream game for you.
    Do you play it?
Did you watch the video at least?
If you did, what's your opinion on the state of AA?

NO I didn't get into AA, didn't like the combat, lore, theme, atmosphere, etc.. I did like the mount you got in the early stages of the game, I named mine fluffy.

    I don't know what people gain when posting a https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loaded_question .
I am not entirely sure if it is stupidity or malice. It depends from case to case, I guess.

Which one you think is in this case? Malice or stupidity?

    ...

sometimes you gotta use the same tactic just to prove a point =)

You have quests to increase your inventory space.
I was aware of that but i dont know how much you can increase it through said quests. The base game comes with only 3 inventory lines. If you can increase it enough before before relying on the cash shop then its ok (like GW2 did). I always buy inventory space in the cash shop, but i've come to expect enough space before having to purchase more.

The difference is there are many more guys buying weapons in cash shops than there are buying a Jedi on eBay. Just because when you can legitimately P2W via the company directly, doing so safely and without concern for your account or your money, and when it's slightly more acceptable by the community, more players are likely to do it. It's just eaiser. But when you have to go to a third party site to buy an account or something else, more players see that as risky in various ways and are less likely to do it. So while you will have a handful of them, they're not as abundant and thus less likely to ruin the play experience of the average player. People can handle one completely OP dude who clearly paid a third party service for his account, or for power leveling/gold/whatever, but when a good chunk of the endgame community consists of players who paid to win via a cash shop or cash to gold economy, that has a larger impact on more players.
