World War. Why? Because the current US administration. I will leave it at that.

Albert Einstein once said "I don't know what weapons World War III will be fought with, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."

well the only feasible world war is way down the line in my opinion. after the u.n. takes over the entire world and it just has a massive civil war.
the u.s. i personaly wont be around that long at least not in the power situation they are now, in part due to thier own civil war that isnt too far away right now.

Another famous phrase he used while in a deep discussion with a colleague.

"Wow, I didn't think of that.."

Sounds like you have been reading the posts from the "time traveler" who predicted a civil war for the us in the near future. ::::28::

What do you mean by "end of the world"?  As in the end of humanity?  Because Earth will be around for quite awhile.  Or do you mean humanity being almost destroyed?  If so it will probably be man made.  The oil crash is going to really hurt the whole world.

I sooooo doubt that. I'm sure bio diesel is going to replace the current fuel soon, it's already viable and completely renuable.

Plus I'm pretty sure that Consumer-Reports said hydrogen cells are only like a decade off.

I actually have great faith in mans ability to overcome most challenges. Even the challenge of not blowing the crap out each other for no real reason.

I think its more likely that if there is an "end of the world" or as you so illeterately put it "end of he world"image scenario, it will probably be something like asteroids or disease.

We are allowing the so called 3rd world to fester in a way that is promoting the mutation of new viruses and diseases (bird flu and ebola for example). These threats are very potent to us soft, weak and imuno-deficient western types in our polished environments. Already we see virulent strains of golden staff etc in hospitals caused by the over use of anti biotics and strong cleaning and sterelisation agents.

Thats the kind of thing that will bring us undone.

As for religious end of the world scenarios.... well man has been predicting the end of the world since we had a way of communicating the theory to each other. Christian and Muslim end of days scenarios are just the latest in a very long line of these myths to perpetuate and infest the brains of the weak of mind. Anyone that subscribes to these beliefs is unable to provide any sort of firm date, when they do they are wrong (or we wouldnt be here). Your local preacher has no more idea of his own beliefs in end of days than the thousands of self proclaiming experts that have gone before him. image

I selected Alien Invasion just because I slept through War of the Worlds last night. ^_^

Honestly, I believe we'll do ourselves in. Not by war, but by synthetic environmental agents. My friends like to call me a tree hugging hippie out to save the seals and whales for my views on the environment. Lol, beyond their role in a healthy eco system, I could care less about other species. My point in evironmentalism isn't about saving other creatures, but ourselves. We need to breathe the air, drink the water, and ingest the flora/fauna of the planet.

There's a whole lot of truth in that. If things keep progressing soap, antibiotics, and things of that sort will lost all effectivness. Not that it would horrible, we'll always have alchohol (which will ALWAYS work) to steralize things, also scolding water can be semi-effective.

If these things are pulled off the shelf it will force us to build up immunities again, and that's not a bad thing at all.

Human beings wont die out from something like that though, we'll kill off and seperate the good from healthy if it comes down to it, for the "greater good". If we get killed off from something it'll be something MUCH greater than that, globalized disasters, solar disasters, ect.

Yeah well done Vercades...... even Im entitled to one statement of sheer mindnumbing hipocrasy every now and then image

    And En1gma...... bring it on!

Tell me you know when Armageddon is... tell me you know someone who knows...

Tell me you can point me to a passage in the bible that spells it out in detail except being an unbeliever I cant understand it.

I have read the bible cover to cover 3 times and a bit... and the Quaran(SP) twice. Your not dealing with someone who just rabbits off without at least doing some study.

I spent about 3 hours last night alone reading all the references to Gog and Magog I could find so I am more than primed for this debate, in fact I was happy to see the thread after my recent reading...

    Just bring it Bro!

Thats my choice if you know anything about whats goin on with the avian flu in southeast asia and China.  It's highly contagious and kills half that are infected also it's on the verge of a major outbreak.  It's really only a matter of time till the next pandemic the last one was in the early 1900's and killed 100million people.  Pretty scarey stuff.
