Just point out the obvious outcome when the kids are left alone to do whatever. Asian mmos in the East don't really need the moderation because they don't seem to have the same issues as the western servers. But, after so many mmos being ported to the west. You would think at least one company would try to keep some decency in the game.
I agree with that. We do not have anywhere near this problem on Eastern servers. Yet when our games are ported to the West it seems the mods are never around. I do see that as a problem. Though WOW is pretty bad as well. At least they do ban and do not seem to be afraid to do so. With an Eastern port I think they are afraid to lose any people at all and by choice ignore it unless it becomes a vocal community that demands action to ban them. Which I did see in Lineage II once.
That's a good point and something I didn't consider. Personally, I just avoid the general chat and enjoy the amazing mmos we are lucky enough to get ported to the West. TBH, if I could play on the eastern serves with no lag or language issues I would. I have a few buddies stationed in South Korea and I've been told the mmos are a different breed (in a good way).

Lineage II, Aion, TERA, CABAL I have played them all in the Western releases and have not seen much of an issue. In fact I remember a fairly large guild being banned from Aion for having a name that was offensive. It took too long imo but they did it.
Never played Lineage 2 and Aion it's been years. But, there is no f***ing way you are going to convince me that Tera doesn't have one of the worst communities in all mmos (east or west). I was there in closed beta till a few months after F2P full time and the game only got 100x worse the second it went F2P. So either you are oblivious to what is going on or you are not being sincere.

There are so many good communities around the gaming world. I am hopeful some of our games I am playing on servers back home will come West so I can play with my Western pals.

Since TERA has gone to Steam the community is not nearly as toxic as it used to be. Better than WOW. Yes Cabal is played on Steam quite a bit.

Making this post has to be because you are bored or really sensitive, either way I will bite. People can hardly speak their minds outside anonymous circles like online games because so many things these days offend people. I am not one of those people that roll like that for its not my style but I do not go around forcing people to act a certain way. I am sure a good amount of people that behave this way in online games are really just trolling and messing around since its funny/entertaining for some of them. why do people think this happens just in pvp games? Its every game and the reason you see it is because the company running their game worries about money and doesnt give a damn about the community until its forced to by constant reporting or people leaving the game taking to forums complaining constantly. I have yet to play a game without offensive names and racist talk in chat, the issue is some games it goes on for a long time while others they are banned fast enough to stop it from spreading over the long term. Rift beta was probably one of the worst I seen and thats a pve game, the RP server was full of some of the most vile trolls on the internet but were quickly banned and that stopped that garbage.

At 14 were you watching the news keeping up with current world events? I was outside playing running around camping fishing or when I was home playing video games not watching TV nor anyone I knew for that matter. Where exactly did I say western mmos didn't have toxic communities? I've been playing mmos since DaoC. I have seen my share of toxic behavior in these games. My experience in the Asian mmos ported to the west is that they are the most toxic of all the mmo communities. Don't believe me? Log into Tera or B&S and the general chat will be spammed full of gold sellers and vitriol. You really seem to be getting really defensive about this. I played Tera twice and while there was a comment or two regarding elin, the majority of the community wasn't toxic if anything it was talking about general stuff instead of the usual debates we get here in the west about x vs wow. B&S I didn't play for long so I'm not sure sorry.
I played my fair share of eastern mmos from Aion to Black Desert and even "odd" ones like Cabal but the only "mmos" I can really say that have toxic communities are mobas and competitive fps games like CoD. Most mmos have these toxic people in the start, they quickly disappear once people ignore them. I honestly haven't seen any toxic topics in Black Desert for the time being other than the PronHub guild that mostly gets laughing comments than people being offended.
But anyway I just wanted to say that maybe both of us have gone on the wrong road? I mean your first post was kinda leaning on blaming eastern mmos and maybe you didn't mean to. PvP server. Knight Online is another one played a lot on Steam and is PvP focused and has a decent community. In fact Knight Online is one of the most played games on Steam
