what are your 3 favorite things of this game what are your 3 negative things in this game please list both possitives and negatives, as well as answer my question..
I quit but pretty sure would enjoy this game if I had time to play it but there are too many other good games out there.
Why I played? Because I absolutely love Elder Scrolls games..
Why I quit? Because I found that most of the time I spent talking to NPCs and following a solo storyline instead of interacting with other people. I could have swallowed this pill if there was some sort of nooby PVP but there is not and not even group PVE seems good in this game... seems like its mostly solo PVE no matter what you want to do or be.
Sure I could run from NPC to NPC while in a group as fast as I can but damn.. I would rather grind mobs with my friends .. . even if it means having to deal with griefers or whatever.
The most simple way that I can put this.. why play this games solo PVE when I can play Skyrim? Why play this games PVP when I can play Darkfall, Guildwars, etc. Why play this games group PVE when theres Everquest, etc. million other games out there that did it better.
3 favorite things I was able to socialize a bit while enjoying quality Elder Scroll PVE. There was evil things that I could do just like other Elder Scroll games.. stealing, etc. The artwork and feel of the environment is topnotch and allows me to get totally immersed...
3 negative things Group PVE was like either waiting for other people to talk to NPCs or doing it myself while they wait for me Too much PVE seemed to be needed to even get to experience the PVP.. I was just getting started. The game seemed to be primarily solo PVE but could not do it as well as Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowing, etc.
I often wonder if the PVE grind is worth it.. wish that they could tease me somehow.. its sad that I spent as much time as I did without getting a taste for why I would want to PVP.

I have been with eso on and off since it launched with its subscription modle. Honestly it is fun if you enjoy PVE, it has some pvp but the issues with the server and lag cause that to be a con for me.
Pros Story (you get to experience all 3 faction story's once you finish the one your in.) No armor/weapon restriction on classes Useful crafting if you are willing to work for it Little to no gold sellers or bots (since a while ago) DLC included in the subscription price OR you can buy it for around 14 bucks. Bag space and bank space buy able in game and not though cash only. cash shop is not P2W unlike most games now days. Exploration, you can run around the map and find new quests as well as secerets as you level...or find a monster that slaps you off a cliff.
Cons Lag in pvp Lots of complainers on the forums so avoid them if possible. Lack of ways to earn gold other then farming (items/matirial) or crafting FOTM builds that people for some reason insist you play or get booted from the party (reminds me of WoW)
and my MEH list (it effects some people but not all) No auction house (personally love this) Guild bank locked behind a member wall as well as the store Guild trader (broker) is ungodly pricey seeing how guilds go in to a bidding war for it. Join a merchants guild if you want to sell things is a must.
This is everything that sticks out to me, just to give you an idea of what you can do i am a sorcerer in medium armor with a bow and two daggers. (assassin) my build has low longevity survive-ability but it can start a fight from stealth with some good bursts of damage (normally i can kill someone before they know what hit them.) but if i'm caught in a long fight i'm most likely going to lose.
This is all my opinion and others may have different views then i, i am writing this in an attempt to give accurate information to the best of my knowledge.

I never played ESO primarily because character appearance is important to me and I don't like the character models.
This is one of the reasons I can't stay in the game for long. The character models are so misshapen and ugly, all shoulders and no hips with flat lifeless faces.
1. It has a huge world and tons of quests 2. It is more action combat oriented than many other MMOs 3. It's diversity and "freedom" of choice when developing charater is one of the best
1. It is incredibly laggy, specially in PVP 2. It allows cheats and hacks to run rampant. Mostly in PVP, but lately even PVE leaderboards have become hostages of cheaters 3. It's turning into episodic game. Buy a small DLC, play for a week or two and log out.
1. They fixed the group questing problems & going even further with One Tamriel shortly 2. Adding a proper free dying system livens things up a bit costume wise 3. Some of the quest lines and the core quest line are pretty interesting
Basically they have improved the game a fair bit and its getting better. Another good thing is that subs have a crafting bag now so no more frequent inventory purges and the game with a good filter looks nice visually.
Bad
1. Leveling is slow and can get boring at times. Quest dialog while good also drags on a lot. I don't care for hearing every NPCs life story for every quest and don't feel it adds that much to the game 2. The world seems stale and dead. Not from lack of players but from lack of NPC population going about their general business. Castle siege questlines are a joke, no one is actually sieging. BDO sucks but it's towns, cities and quest sieges are well done in this aspect. 3. The stupid and frankly pathetic need to gimp yourself while leveling by wearing non-optimal gear and using non-optimal skills in order to level them all up. If you don't then later decide you want to switch roles or approach well fuck you go grind some shit.
Went very well first time Got max Vet level 12 in first month Questing was very interesting PVP was retarded and unbalanced ruined pvp experience ... Grinding was pretty fun,,,,,until they begun to nerf drops and most of income went to repair armors after . Questing never was as rewarding as it should . Pretty fast will get bored of the classes an skills
they promised to update game every 3 months ...and didn't Quit and sold account when they killed sorcerers .
tried to return now but I can't I'm sick of questing and classes feel the same boring and dull
But on the other hand among rest of MMORPG probably is one of the best
I only played a short time in beta and 3 weeks into launch so I don't recall what I enjoyed about it.
I disliked the action combat, lack of public auction houses, limited skills due to UI design, the clear "pattern" each new area had for clearing them to name a few.
Biggest one, when it became clear to me I'd basically have to solo grind through VR levels and a new expansion before I could join up with my friends in Cyrodil. (on reasonably even footing with other players.
TLDR: It wasn't really very much like DAOC which I had hoped it would be.

Just personal preference. It's too bland. The thing that made the sp elder scrolls for me was the exploration and finding really over-the-top items so i could just speed ball my way through the landscape on foot or jump really really high. 100% permanent chameleon or crafting ridiculous spells. I was never really so into the lore that I could tolerate a themepark mmorpg with es shoehorned into it. But damn the devs are making some serious progress with that game. Kudos to them!
I originally played it as a single player due to the phasing issues when trying to group up to do things at launch. This was why I left when the first DLC was introduced as it required grouping. I recently returned to the game about a month ago and it has improve dramatically. Finally did some pvp yesterday and there is still some lag issues there but overall not bad. I think there are more people playing now than when it launched, always people everywhere now.
With the launch of One Tameril this fall the game will finally become what it should have been all along. With that launch you can go anywhere you wish whenever you wish because they are adding levelscaling and removing faction restrictions on pve side.
On one note it is worth it to sub if for nothing else than to get the crafting bag, probably one of the best things in my mind they have added. Mats no longer take up any space. Also you get full access to all dlc with a sub, if you unsub you keep the stuff you got but can no longer access the dlc stuff except you can remove items from the crafting bag but not add.
They also just stated they are adding housing in 2017, but no specifics at all on that yet.
ESO has been my go to MMO since its launch on PC. I think the developers have done their best to respond to feedback and criticism and it clearly shows in-game.
Please note, I consider myself a casual player, typically only play games on the weekends and find myself logging in in monthly spurts (come back for a few weeks, disappear for a month or two).
Pros: * Character advancement and building - between classes, abilities, stats, gear, and champion points, I feel like I can build my character my way. The keyword is choice here whether you build characters from a meta standpoint or with a roleplaying bent (or somewhere in the middle). * Casual player friendly - I never feel like I am behind the curve. Always plenty for me to see and do on my own or with others * Not Quite MMO - ESO was heavily criticized for being both not MMO enough and not ES enough. They have largely addressed the later and the former is actually a plus in my book. You get the social bells and whistles of a MMO but in a package that is both rewarding for casual players like myself, the more dedicated, and hardcore players all around. * Combat - On its best days, combat is pretty solid. Not super twitchy. Actiony enough to keep things fun and fresh. While players will find synergies amongst abilities, each ability stands on its own such that its more about feel and playstyle and less about optimal ability rotations. * Aesthetic - While the game features a fairly generic fantasy look and feel, I actually appreciate the more grounded aesthetic.
I actually don't have much to complain about. If anything, it hasn't grabbed me enough to make me want to login and play more regularly.
After playing around a month, I got bored and also I was wondering why you had to pay for every DLC they were adding in order to unlock new content, while at the same time their game seemed like an unfinished product to me, for PC version at least. I never got why they did not create some add-ons within game and we had to search esoui with their approval in order to install some and make the game look better. Game did not have even a minimap.. The money they were earning from DLC were not enough for that I suppose. Anyway, good thing is that I spent only around 20euro when it was in discount in steam. But it trully had 1 good thing for me, really good soundtrack but in the end you realise you got bored of that too. Anyway my opinion ofcourse.
what are your 3 favorite things of this game what are your 3 negative things in this game please list both possitives and negatives, as well as answer my question..
Quit shortly after release.
3 favorite things: Can't think of 1, let alone 3.
3 negatives: Megaserver, single player game in a multiplayer environment, and no community to speak of.
1- ESO is the only MMORPG I've played that looks this good *and* runs this well. I've always struggled with other mmos trying to get 60fps all the time, and ESO just gives it to me. LOVE IT ><
2- The Quests - all fully voice acted, and all pretty interesting. I like helping all the ghosts in Tamriel heheh.
3- The character customization and champion points advancements
The Bad:
1 - The same music over and over. It's nice music, sure. But there's like 10, maaaaybe 15 tracks in the whole game total, or it feels that way anyway.
2 - Needing to join a guild to get an "auction house", while being able to join up to 5 guilds, then you have to get a mod to check that you're not overpricing your stuff so it sells, a hassle. Then needing to donate or participate in raffles so the guild can afford to bid on a merchant spot in the world to expand clientele to rest of players... HASSLE! ><
I played it for a while and really enjoyed it. That was back shortly after launch. But in the end it turned out to be just another solo game with other people in it. Even with the huge population at launch, the game seemed to make grouping actually more difficult. There was no easy way to group up with everyone being on different levels of the quests, and for dungeons you had to literally go stand outside of a dungeon and beg for groups. If you like solo questing it's a pretty decent game.
Maybe someone can speak to whether or not they've made grouping easier? I think the last tie I checked back in was at the Imperial expansion.
"God, please help us sinful children of Ivalice.."
I bought the game on sale about a year ago. I just haven't been able to get into it for some reason.
Made it up to about L30 or so? The combat felt a lot like GW2, but the world felt a lot more static.
A lot of people rave about it though, and it is available on consoles. I've thought about picking up the console version to see if I could get into it if I could play it on the TV.
PS4 perspective. I dont generally like action combat for MMORPGs but figured I'd give this a shot on my couch as it was only a $15 purchase
Pros: 1. Action combat is restrained and plays well on the coach with a controller without the tedium/annoyance factor that plagues many of the action MMORPGs for me after the first hour of a play session 2. Rewards explorations. That place that looks hidden and out of the way? Probably has a chest to open. 3. While others want an MMO version of Skyrim, I like that this is a more focused version of many of the same concepts.
Cons: 1. this is a huge, unforgivable con that only applies to the console version: no chat channels other than voice. Somewhat tolerable (if less than ideal) for groups, but removes a large part of the social environment in towns and zones 2. Auction house system is pretty bad, compounded on PS4 in several ways from point 1 above 3. A bit lacking in features and polish
Pros 1. Beautiful World 2. Good Music- Not the best mind you but it's good. I really liek the bard songs in the taverns though. Maluka and the others make it feel like I just walked into a true fantasy inn. 3. Cyrodiil Zone looks pretty good and sieging keeps is always a blast (well should be until con 9 & 10 happen). 4. Crafting- I think it's pretty well done. You can make gear instead of having to raid for it, etc. 5. Armor styles- They have some good looking armor styles to get that look you really want. Especially now that you mix body and hat (need more helms/hats) costumes 6. Dungeons & Delves do look good and eerie (sp?). Shame everything's so easy which reduces any fear lvl to nil (see con #3) 7. Wrothgar looked incredible 8. Quests with voice. Pretty cool. Truth is though they could have done without named actors and use some of that money toward hiring someone to fix bugs. 9. I've had more fun over the past 2 years planning, researching, and creating new builds I think than actually playing. My co-workers who have quit as well before I did used to laugh that i was always broke because I respecced so much. I like trying new things..and it kept me paying that long..Ultimately though the builds dissolved due to Cons # 1 & 12.
Cons 1. 4 classes to mix with weapons & guild skills. A lot of very boring abilities. They killed hybris builds back in 1.6 or before. That made it even worse. 2. Continuation of #1Class skills mainly use the same colors per class (ex. Templar-Almost all skills "golden") 3. The game is so very easy and so very solo (except vet dungeons and a few other things). Grouping with a friend or two during the leveling process makes it even worse. 4. Vet Ranks-Took 2 years to get rid of. Caldwells Silver and Gold were a joke. It made the game feel even more solo. 5. Delves (mini dungeons, caves, etc) have a lot of cut and past done. There are many that feel almost identical to others. They went back and changed quite a bit but there are still a lot left. 6. Related to #5. In these delves, you can bet money the main boss is at the end. He never roams and there are no roaming elite mobs etc to mix it up a bit. 7. World (elite bosses) are easily found and never roam. Pull up your map and look for the skull and crossbones. .8 Quests- Sure there are less kill 10 frog missions but if you think those are boring try getting a quest and follow the arrow on your compass to the objective. That's it! Mindless 9. PVP lag and the way it can totally kill all sounds. Daoc and Warhammer kicked this game's butt. 10. PVP stealth- OMG everyone runs around stealthed forever (or until your stamina runs out). Whole armies can hide in an open field in plain site and sit there forever if they wanted. It's pretty ridicuous. 11. Takes forever for bugs to be fixed. Forget hot patching in a timely manner. I swear they only have 5 people working for this company sometimes. 12. Back to class skills- lack of variety of class spamming abilities is horrible- If your a templar-jabs, DK- whip, Sorc-Frags. If your running stamina you can always just run around spamming dizzying swing & then execute. This gets boring pretty quick. 13. No Auction House- It can take you hours if your running around checking every damn guild store looking for specific item. Not only that the vendors don't have a search option! Really in a MMO nowdays?! (see con#11) 14. Weapon abilities look kinda screwed up depending on what weapon you use. If your duel wield swords/daggers the abilities look ok, but if you throw in a hammer....well thrusting with a hammer looks ignorant and cheaply done. 15. PVP Realm pride- Forget it. This is no DAOC or Warhammer. In all honesty there's not a whole lot of reason to PVP unless your either (1) leveling up your pvp rank to get the skills you want/need (2) your with your elite dood guild (3) your a nightblade ganking folks. 16. It's taken over two years to introduce a barber shop..really? We had those in some of the oldest MMOs in the book. 17. No Dragons..The biggest and Baddest mobs are deadra..over and over...Perhaps this is minor but there is a huge lack of variety in mobs to fight. 18. Dropped Loot is not based on difficulty of the mob. If I'm fighting elite or world bosses, give me a chance of obtaining decent loot. I can't tell you how many times we've dropped a super mob to get a green (junk) dagger. Those chests that are tucked away off the beaten path. Guess what..you'll get your 1000th lockpick, a random green, and worthless crafting stone. On occasion you'll pull a blue out of an advanced to master chest. Still worthless crafting breakdown junk. 19. Ok I'm done. It's bad that i can keep going on..After 2 years that's why I cancelled my account last week after logging on for a few times a week for 15 min and logging out in boredom.
HASSLE! ><
i know a lot of people hate that but i personally think it adds flavor to the game and isn't that much of a hassle IMO. the far bigger hassle was with the shared bank and not having room to store stuff, which has been fixed (if you subscribe)
i also think it makes sense to belong to multiple guilds, your character is already a member of multiple NPC guilds.and that's how it was in the single player games as well.
i personally don't find buying and selling to be that needed in this game either, not compared to some other games at least.
right now, if i sub, i don't find too much wrong with the game from a pve standpoint. without a sub though, i still hate the issues with bank and bag space.
if you are a crafter you pretty much have to sub or have limited crafting you can do.
I bought the game on sale about a year ago. I just haven't been able to get into it for some reason.
Made it up to about L30 or so? The combat felt a lot like GW2, but the world felt a lot more static.

the same thing happened to me with GW2, i tried multiple times to get into that game and really wanted to like it because i loved the art style. i think it just depends on the person and what they like.

* Character advancement and building - between classes, abilities, stats, gear, and champion points, I feel like I can build my character my way. The keyword is choice here whether you build characters from a meta standpoint or with a roleplaying bent (or somewhere in the middle).
* Casual player friendly - I never feel like I am behind the curve. Always plenty for me to see and do on my own or with others
* Not Quite MMO - ESO was heavily criticized for being both not MMO enough and not ES enough.
HASSLE! ><
Maybe someone can speak to whether or not they've made grouping easier? I think the last tie I checked back in was at the Imperial expansion.
"God, please help us sinful children of Ivalice.."
Made it up to about L30 or so? The combat felt a lot like GW2, but the world felt a lot more static.
A lot of people rave about it though, and it is available on consoles. I've thought about picking up the console version to see if I could get into it if I could play it on the TV.
Pros:
1. Action combat is restrained and plays well on the coach with a controller without the tedium/annoyance factor that plagues many of the action MMORPGs for me after the first hour of a play session
2. Rewards explorations. That place that looks hidden and out of the way? Probably has a chest to open.
3. While others want an MMO version of Skyrim, I like that this is a more focused version of many of the same concepts.
Cons:
1. this is a huge, unforgivable con that only applies to the console version: no chat channels other than voice. Somewhat tolerable (if less than ideal) for groups, but removes a large part of the social environment in towns and zones
2. Auction house system is pretty bad, compounded on PS4 in several ways from point 1 above
3. A bit lacking in features and polish
Pros
1. Beautiful World
Especially now that you mix body and hat (need more helms/hats) costumes
6. Dungeons & Delves do look good and eerie (sp?). Shame everything's so easy which reduces any fear lvl to nil (see con #3)
7. Wrothgar looked incredible
Cons
1. 4 classes to mix with weapons & guild skills. A lot of very boring abilities. They killed hybris builds back in 1.6 or before. That made it even worse.
2. Continuation of #1Class skills mainly use the same colors per class (ex. Templar-Almost all skills "golden")
That's it! Mindless
(see con#11)
It's bad that i can keep going on..After 2 years that's why I cancelled my account last week after logging on for a few times a week for 15 min and logging out in boredom.
i also think it makes sense to belong to multiple guilds, your character is already a member of multiple NPC guilds.and that's how it was in the single player games as well.
i personally don't find buying and selling to be that needed in this game either, not compared to some other games at least.
right now, if i sub, i don't find too much wrong with the game from a pve standpoint. without a sub though, i still hate the issues with bank and bag space.
if you are a crafter you pretty much have to sub or have limited crafting you can do.
