Star Citizen already launched (it's playable) and can be already considered revolutionary (it already has features you cant find in other games).
What's the end game like? Does it live up to the Kickstarter? When can we expect your critical review?

Yea, five years from now, someone will be saying "Hating on SC is so 2021!"
Yeap no doubt haters are going to hate no matter what. Some people seem to dedicate their lives to e-hating for some strange reason.
To be honest, you're the only one so far I've seen displaying hate, toward rpmcmurphy. And overall people don't seem really emotionally invested about this project.

Hate rofl? Calling trolls out is not hate, it's public service imo. While your at it I'd say that by your post history that you are another low effort troller so might as well disregard anything you post as well lol
You happen to be labelling anyone you disagree with as a troll so not really a public service since you are trying to discredit the messenger instead of dealin with any valid points contained in the message.
What valid points? Please do tell
How about how @rpmcmurphy is bringing up how there are plenty of people who say this is already better then most AAA releases but when he sees videos it's a bug ridden mess. I think if people are extolling the awesomeness of a game then the videos should at least back it up.
What people? There's many people and everyone has their oppinions, plenty of people love The Witcher, Uncharted, Zelda, Overwatch, Star Citizen, Elite, Truck Simulator, The Sims, Skyrim etc. All those games have videos showcasing bugs for more than 5 minutes, do they correlate? Should we dismiss their "fun" because one video with bugs?
Plenty of other people don't, how's generalising the opinion of "some people" and posting a video of bugs is enough to "make a point"?
Yes it seems a lot of people love Star Citizen for what it is already, despite all the bugs and flaws, delays whatever. Maybe that's why the game keeps luring new players update after update and said players keep spending money on it I dunno!? I guess you don't crowdfund continuously for 5 years at the ammount of 146 million dollars without providing something that people like.
With bugs or without bugs there's enough people finding Star Citizen fun to continuously back it's development so I guess the point is that there is no point besides every opinion is it's own and it's not really "smart" to single out any specific video and generalize that as the overall experience with the game.
As hard as it may be for some to watch videos of people having fun playing Star Citizen and in contrast seem to rejoice at the discovery of a new bug/glitch should realise that's what happy gamers and testers do, they celebrate and record the good times while reporting the "bad" ones (bugs, glitches, crashes) and still are able to have fun because they understand what game development is all about and dont try to push disingenuous agendas at every sudden opportunity.
It's just games so we should all be very excited and use our imagination to have some fun.

Go back and read the comments if you aren't sure what people but to be nice and save you time Reddit, this forum, other forums, really anywhere people have an opinion. No one is dismissing anyone's fun, that's a conclusion you are jumping to for reasons I can't fathom. All that's being said is for a game that's being highly praised as better then most AAA released games the amount of bugs present in many vids make you wonder if people are blindly defending it or they are just more optimistic then others.
And yes I know this is a pre alpha and bugs are to be expected so you can stop with that line please. No one is generalizing anything and the people who post criticisms of the game aren't out to tear it down and aren't Derek Smarts alt or lackeys.
The whole you don't understand game dev is a tired excuse that you need to put to bed. I've tested my fair share of pre alpha, alpha and beta games and have been paid to do it and not the other way around. There are some who are pushing an agenda I'm sure and right now I would group you in the category. Your agenda seems to be to discredit anyone by calling them a troll who posts something that you perceive as negative to the game. You're welcome to do it of course but don't be surprised when you are called out on it.
If you'd like to have normal conversations then drop the insults and have a proper debate. Hell @MaxBacon and I generally don't see eye to eye but we had a fairly decent back and forth and I'm fairly sure most would be willing to do the same with you.
Erillion, read my post again, even if it's just the bit you quoted and you should see that I said "one of the most toxic" not "the most toxic".
It is not even close to the really toxic communities.
That is why I said you should (digitally) get out more.
Have fun
PS:
You are not missing anything important if you do NOT visit those communities ... unless you like cursing in every third word, regular remarks on your ancestor's parentage, your skill in playing certain games (or the lack of skill) and suggestions w.r.t. your bodily functions. Usually coming your way from a very intoxicated person with a distinct lack of self control and rhetorical skill.

Because I am a realist. If you have a group of fans numbering many hundredthousands, some of them will be assholes. That does not make a community "toxic". One can wish that such toxicity has no place - the same way one can wish for world peace .... and in both cases stupidity of (some) humans makes it impossible.

But your not being a realist. You're defending the toxicity that's present in CIG's community by saying well at least its not as bad as those communities over there. That's not being a realist that's burying your head in the sand.
There is no some in CIG's case. Many will jump over anybody they perceive as a threat to the game, real or imagined.

The thing is, it doesn't matter if the majority are silent bible-bashers, it is the perception that the vocal create because their posts attract more attention. One only has to look at any article that is written about Star Citizen,
as always it will get some negative comments and then you have people
from the Star Citizen community descending on those commenters like
vultures, more often than not being quite abusive about it.
If you ignore the vast majority of comments that are NOT "vulture" like ... yes, that may be your personal impression.
As said before: I disagree with your assessment that the SC community is "toxic". To the contrary. In my experience it is a very supportive and mature community.
As we are in a thread about videos - you can see how supportive and active this community is from the many and well made fan videos. Created by fans which are not toxic at all.

That is the reality of the situation.
I have really tried to stay out of this, but I almost made it a week, so I'll treat myself.
It doesn't really surprise me that someone would be defensive with people calling them stuff like "cultists", "white knights", "bible-bashers".
I think that the toxicity is directly related to the toxicity of the people actively attacking those community members who might actually believe that it's something great. So I'd ask you, why do you feel it's necessary to pile onto every subject and attack others so vehemently? Are you expecting to change someones mind about something they're passionate about?
I think it's easy to say that the SC community is toxic, but I think it's a toxicity that has been manufactured by people outside the community actively abusing those who are supporters. Do you really believe that if you were to walk away today that you would be continually attacked by a community member? I think not. Instead, you choose to continue to attack and remain unrelenting in those attacks, and yet YOU call the SC community toxic? Huh, well turnabout is fair play, so if you really believe you're part of the solution, I'll go ahead and tell you that you're not, you're part of the problem.
I've come to the conclusion that it is pretty much impossible to have any kind of civilized intelligent conversation about Star Citizen no matter what the topic.
I have really tried to stay out of this, but I almost made it a week, so I'll treat myself.

But I'm not calling him cultists or white-knights, I didn't mention either of those words once in my post so I don't know what hole you're pulling them from. All I said was "if the majority are silent bible-bashers" simply meaning silent but dedicated fans.
If we look at EVE which is largely perceived as having a very
aggressive, scamming, manipulative, sociopathic playerbase, we all know
it doesn't account for everybody but it is the general
perception. The difference being that EVE's playerbase is perceived that
way due to in-game actions enabled by game design. Star Citizen's community is perceived as being volatile / aggressively defensive due to their out-of-game actions.
You say that the toxicity is because they are triggered by other people that is just deflection. A lot of these people have considerable sums of money invested in a project that remains more dream than reality, they know that a lot of people scoff at the foolishness of spending hundreds or thousands on pixel spaceships and dislike that, the last thing they want to hear is that their spending was unwise and that's all part of the reason they defend it so vehemently.
No I don't think I would be continually attacked by a community member
(although that has happened) but that isn't what I was alluding to. I
said that any time someone makes any sort of negative comment (even in
jest) you can bet your ass that the SCDF will be there to set them too
rights in an aggressive manner and it's that aggressiveness that makes them appear toxic.

So instead of calling them dedicated fans, you would resort to calling them "bible-bashers", which is an obvious derogatory term intended to get a reaction out of someone. Then you, again, go on to refer to the SCDF at the end of your statement. It's no different than someone calling you a hater, which you've taken offense to in the past, right?
You know, I knew this person once and he was working away on my computer and I came up behind him and, jokingly, started massaging his shoulders, because he was doing some work for me and I was just standing there. Later that week he actually pulled me aside and asked that I please don't do that ever again. I was floored!! Well I came to understand later that he was seriously abused as a child. So your saying that your solution to this situation is that he should just suck it up? He's a grown man now! Stop being such a fucking baby! Right? Because that's really what it sounds like you're saying. It's no different here. FACT: Nobody can ever start an SC thread without someone making a smart-ass one-liner about it. Correct? On top of that, if anyone makes any sort of response in defense of that, they are immediately attacked with lengthy diatribes or names, and then it simply descends into pointless banter back and forth. Spread this out over the course of, what? a year plus? Yeah, YOU'RE the one feeding the response you get. Please take some responsibility for that and stop trying to pin this on the SC community. If you didn't post back with inflammatory response, my bet is that this thread would die off, re-surfacing once every month or so when a new video surfaces.

And you call people haters, doomsayers and the like so taking offence or being judgemental over a choice of words is rather amusing. Do not assume it was used to get a rise because that was not the intention, it was a simple jest at the dedication of some people and applied in such a general way that reading any more than that into would be a matter of choosing to be offended.
I really don't see how a case of physical / mental / sexual child abuse compares to having a laugh at the amount of money people choose to spend on a silly computer game. One is a trivial non-life defining matter, the other is the complete opposite, so this hyperbolic comparison is pointless.
You really should have taken your own advice and kept out of this....
Sadly, I always enjoy the humiliating process of someone claiming fact (in this case in upper case FACT) when they aren't actually relaying facts. There is definitely something wrong with me for getting even a single laugh out of that.

Well I guess I just used that it "jest"!!! What, you can't take it? /sarcasm. It's rich that you're calling me out when you took offense to that statement. It simply proves the point I'm making. So for someone to talk about hyperbolic statements and yet take offense to being called something "in jest" themselves I find amusing. Yeah, and I find it sad that people believe that just because they aren't face to face with someone that they don't need to act like a human being and they can simply say that something was in "jest" and it makes everything alright.
Anyway, I can see this is a pointless venture anyway, so I'm done. Maybe you should take a look back at some of your previous posts and take a step back. That's what I'm doing. I'll tell you right now, if you look at your posts and still feel good about the mark you've left, then I guess it'll be a pretty good illustration of your values. Or maybe you actually ARE simply interested in attacking SC, because it's not like your reddit handle is SCitizen, right?
Sadly, I always enjoy the humiliating process of someone claiming fact (in this case in upper case FACT) when they aren't actually relaying facts. There is definitely something wrong with me for getting even a single laugh out of that.
You know what I think is funny? Someone in a SC thread calling someone out for using the word fact, lol. It's literally the only place on Earth where there is fewer facts being thrown around than the white house.
PS: Yes, I used literally tongue-in-cheek, just so I don't need to explain that to you later.

"Be water my friend" - Bruce Lee
But I'm not calling him cultists or white-knights, I didn't mention either of those words once in my post so I don't know what hole you're pulling them from. All I said was "if the majority are silent bible-bashers" simply meaning silent but dedicated fans.
If we look at EVE which is largely perceived as having a very aggressive, scamming, manipulative, sociopathic playerbase, we all know it doesn't account for everybody but it is the general perception. The difference being that EVE's playerbase is perceived that way due to in-game actions enabled by game design.
No I don't think I would be continually attacked by a community member (although that has happened) but that isn't what I was alluding to. I said that any time someone makes any sort of negative comment (even in jest) you can bet your ass that the SCDF will be there to set them too rights in an aggressive manner and it's that aggressiveness that makes them appear toxic.

You know what I think is funny? Someone in a SC thread calling someone out for using the word fact, lol. It's literally the only place on Earth where there is fewer facts being thrown around than the white house.
PS: Yes, I used literally tongue-in-cheek, just so I don't need to explain that to you later.
