It's getting bad reviews because it earned them, much as that may conflict with a few fanboys' egos. I love that there's this collective sense of conspiracy that hovers just behind every word the OP, and those like him, utters on the subject. Yes, yes, OF COURSE, the big bad critic's continuum - a veritable illuminati of pudgy, middle-aged men - got together and decided that this was a movie they were going to work together to sink... because reasons.
It's a bad film that was designed to prey on people who cannot tell the difference between good storytelling and abject garbage. Now, please lecture me on how awesome the Twilight Books are, or how superbly emotional Fifty Shades of Grey is.
Exactly, these very same critics gave other films by the same director (Moon and Source Code) very positive reviews. They gave good CGI laden blockbusters good reviews (The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy). They just didn't like this film. It is not some bloody conspiracy.
I think people was expecting Lord of the Ring or Games of Thrones material that's why they are disappointed.
Warcraft is a cheesy sometimes over the top blockbuster like many others (Xman and all Marvel/DC Comics movies), it is not a masterpiece but certainly in line with those kind of movies which got better reviews but aren't actually any better.
Warcraft is a good movie (with some flaws) go and see it.
We know the lore, the problem is that anyone can get a Spiderman movie without reading the comics... LOTR and GOT did ease people into the world slowly so they understood it, they failed that here.

Must be some kind of crazy conspiracy!
