Another example of why opting IN rather than forcing people and locations to opt OUT: Holocaust Museum to visitors: Please stop catching Pokemon here

    Insensitive and inappropriate.

I love PG for what it's trying to do but I believe that too little thought was given about real world social implications.

They have been dead a long time. If it was some form of ceremony going on for recently deceased people, then I would find it inappropriate.

We are still not mourning the victims of the Black Plague, Spanish Flue and countless of other victims that died as a consequence of war in the past. At some point in time, one ought to stop mourning and that point has been reached a long time ago in my opinion.

what I find intresting from a marketing standpoint is how a game like Ingress can exist for almost 4 years and then out of the blue this (pokemon) happens in about the span of a day as if its never been done before.
That's what happens when an IP already has a huge following.
    Absolutely this.
I'd also say that this is more of an actual game that is quite a bit more user friendly, easier to understand, and just generally better suited for most players.

People who say "Why is this so popular when Ingress has been out for so long"  likely haven't played Ingress.  It wasn't exactly user friendly, and you pretty much had to travel to public places.

With PG, you can play in your neighborhood even if there are no pokestops, gyms or what have you.

Pokemon Go basically stole nearly every feature from Ingress and the two games are almost exactly the same. Given you know so much about Ingress and how it plays then I am to assume you have played it?

Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

Please do not respond to me

It's been several years but yes I have.  I played it for a couple months when I traveled a lot.  It helped me learn the new areas and get out more.

Ingress is not identical.  Pokemon Go uses a lot from ingress. The same company is involved in both of them.  I've played them both,  PG is much more user friendly, and a better overall game.

I'm guessing you've played them both too seeing as how you speak so much between the similarities of them hmm?

Here where I live we have the "Castle doctrine", those PGo players better be careful whose home they invade. O.o

I was literally about to say that.  In Texas simply being on someone's property without their authority is a legal reason to shoot them.  If you have a no trespassing sign in your yard like I do, then you don't even have to ask them to leave, you can simply start shooting.

TBQFH, I really think that some terrible shit is going to happen to a few people before they rethink how this whole thing works.

Americans shoot and kill each other for even dumber reasons, so couple of hundred pokemon go deaths a year won't make national news.

    Unbelievable.
    Who knows ?

Shooting Pokemon-hunters with paintball guns may even become an "e-sport", lol

People could set up "dungeons" with a well-defended Pokespot at the center...
Until people start getting shot with "not" paintball guns in places like NW DC, west Baltimore, east Philli, and other bad places, that stupid oblivious people walk around in following some picture on a smart phone, and not realize they are in the effin ghetto.

Some people will get lit up doing this, guaranteed.

Edit: and yeah, some idiots will probably get beat up or shot for trespassing on people's private property, too. Just watch, it will happen.

No shootings yet, but 3 college students were robbed at gun point today in Baltimore by some thug that sent up Pokemon points or whatever as bait (and in a "gun free" zone, no less... that sure stopped the robber from carrying a gun).

And the NA tech support refused to help police find out who set up the point or whatever it is called.
