If Rockstar released a PC version of Red Dead, I would jump on another copy of that too.

I think you'll see it there soon enough with the new XB on Windows platform.   It's only a matter of time,  though I'd like to see something more updated.

I think I want Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens for my nephew. *Clears throat* not for me guys just for my 5 year old nephew *clears throat again*

OK its for me. Yes I'm weird but its star wars with legos I mean c'mon...
There's no shame in lego games.  Me and a couple buddies played Lego Avengers when it first came out.  They're good games.
Agreed. I loved the Lego Hobbit game

    Also the Lego Rockband
I really enjoyed Lego Rock Raiders. Bought it for my kids but I think I ended up playing it more than they did ;)

Not only that but GTAV is always on this list. That thing sells like mad. After a while it is like
"Who does NOT own this by now?"
    I don't own GTA.

It is in the same category as GoT for me: pointless, cruel, completely immoral shit.

To be quite honest, I never fully understood the appeal of GTA. But then again I never liked Goodfelas, Godfather and the like. Notice a patten?
Wow, I wrote a similar post but then didn't submit it because I didn't feel like dealing with naysayers. I feel the GTA series is completely morally bankrupt.  In GTA you're playing a thieving, drug dealing womanizer who is basically a lackey for the underbelly of society.

Personally, I avoid that stuff.  I prefer to be the hero, not the guy that I would shoot if I caught him in my driveway trying to jack my Z34.

I'm the same way. I just don't see the appeal.

Must agree that Minecraft being still even in the top ten is simply stupefying.
If you think Minecraft is truly amazing (and you aren't saying 'wow I can't believe it because it's a terrible game') then you need to check out Dwarf Fortress!

It's far less accessible!  Far more byzantine and intricate!
Thanks for the info. I actually like minecraft and still play it once in awhile. I never heard of Dwarf Fortress, but the title even sounds cool. Thanks

but to be fair I think minecraft and DF are totally different game types.

incidentally I hear a lot of people saying RimWorld is the best under-rated new game out there which has DF aspects to it from my understanding. Its a RTS+Sims management kind of game

According to some, Markus "Notch" got the idea for Minecraft while playing Dwarf Fortress.

I love Dwarf Fortress because it procedurally generates history as well as mythology before dropping you into the world, also simulating things like mineral distributions, erosion, and rain-shadows because there are game designers who care about things like that.

I've yet to see another game turn out something like this on the fly:

Or produce stories like these, unscripted:

THE STORY OF SAZIR STOCKADEBOLT, THE "CONFINING SPELL"
The land was called Teyo Quico in elvish. It means "The World of Cyclones."
Born into this world, in the year 89, was a dwarf named Sazir Stockadebolt. When she was just one year old she was abducted from her people, who were called The Ancient Spears, by a crazed dwarf woman.
She was brought to live in the dark fortress called Dangleplague. There she was raised in the company of goblins.
When she was 12 years old she was married to Onol Minedclapped, another dwarf who had been abducted and forced to live in Dangleplague. But just two years later, Minedclapped was murdered by the dwarf Ber Toursink.
The horrible crime pushed Stockadebolt over the edge of madness. She joined the goblin hordes, trained as a sword fighter, and joined them when they marched into battle.
The War of Ignition was fought over eight long years, ending in 149 in a cataclysmic battle against her own race.
Together she and her goblin brothers killed every single member a dwarf people known as The Earth of Infamy. After that campaign Stockadebolt was promoted to be the general of the goblin army. Her faction became known as The Maroon Nightmares.
After The War of Ignition, Stockadebolt journeyed to the depths of the world where she tamed a cave dragon, a beast which she rode into every subsequent battle she fought. Her victories include The War of Ignition, The Conflict of Growling and finally The Siege of Cuts.
In 195 she was murdered, like her husband before her, by her own kind; a dwarf by the name of Urdim Passoars. She was 106.
But her story lives on. Along with 57,283 other historical figures, all of whom have similar stories to share.

Even at a distance, the fractal landscapes just look like they should from a geomorphological perspective:

Anyway, sorry to go all crazed fan about this one, but it truly is a remarkable game.

If you load up a game on your PC, it will generate a world for you like the one above.  Each world will be unique, with its own history, evil and good zones, creation myth, historical figures that had real impacts on the cultures which inhabit the land, etc.

Be sure to use a wiki guide to start playing.  I've heard it described as being similar to suddenly being placed at the controls of an aircraft, just as it's taking off.

sorry i dont play either so i cant say for sure but regardless of what idea Notch was thinking while play DF as an outsider I see minecraft as people wanting to build homes, buildings and towns. DF as a stradgey game.

I dont think kids with legos on their mind are going to go play DF for to build a virtual space shuttle model do you?

    1. Overwatch*
    2. Grand Theft Auto V
    3. Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens
    4. Doom 2016**
    5. Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst
    6. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End**
    7. NBA 2K16
    8. Call of Duty: Black Ops III
    9. Destiny: The Taken King
    10. Minecraft**

** No digital sales included in ranking
    * No Battle.net PC sales included

Overwatch sits comfortably on top of the list, even without incorporating its sales from Battle.net. Grand Theft Auto V follows in second, and Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens in third both Take-Two and Warner Bros. are participating in the digital reporting segment, and PC sales likely helped nudge these higher. Doom is in fourth, however because the report doesn't recognize its digital sales, that number may be significantly higher. The same can be said for Uncharted 4 and Minecraft.

Yep, I am def a minority of gaming. Overwatch is garbage, GTA is low end garbage, lego game come on now, doom died so long ago I don't even know, I have no idea what mirror is, uncharted looked horrible since its start as a ps game but then again I hate all things console, NBA no way man, call of duty don't make me laugh, destiny no idea, and mincraft is the worst game I have ever played.

Pretty sure i recall Notch stating that most of the ideas for Minecraft came to him and he started the groundwork for Minecraft while working on WURM ...

Anyhow .... Rimworld trumps Dwarf Fortress now at its own game .... (and i played the heck out of DF)           try it ...

Indeed, the question was mostly rhetorical ;)
