Dark and Light, as many of our loyal readers may remember was an insanely ambitious MMORPG that launched in 2006, flopped, and was shut down in 2008. There was a load of controversy surrounding the title back then, ultimately leading to the original developer (NPCube) and publisher (Farlan Entertainment) closing quietly after lawsuits filed by VWorld LLC.

    I already paid for DnL 10 years ago, I still have the email receipt in archive, lol

    I wonder if Snail will honor the purchase ?

    Let's wait and see... I'm willing to give a chance to any developer who wants to attempt making a sandbox MMO. Let's just hope that if they succeed on that part, they won't fall in the other usual traps, like forced PvP everywhere which turns those games into gankfests.
    Pretty much sure there will be some form of "forced" PvP involved - but large spaces and distances in game may offer some security. The developer mentioned all maps need to be created by players. My guess is some form of restricted mini-map or fog of war will be in place until player explored a region.

    Conflicts I assume will be connected with settler colonialism, especially in earlier game.

    This MMO game from the generation of MMO's which promised far more than they were able to accomplish. I really cant believe they are still trying to give this thing life. Let it DIE already, DnL WASNT even this games original NAME back when it was first developed. LMAO

    Yea I paid twice the first time the did the cash grab and again when they did the relaunch, I know for a fact we won't get any consideration for our prior purchases. Hence why I am warning everyone to avoid these criminals like the plague they should be facing Rico charges for organized criminal conspiracy over what they have done with this IP. Every few years when people forget they launch another money grab then pull it for one excuse or another, they keep the accounting overseas, and change the distributor each time to avoid legal action or anyone being able to get their money back.

    It's a new game by an entirely different developer. So please stop it.

    Why is this negativity? Yeah I paid for the original garbage too. But this is a totaly different game from different developer. I can only see two similarities. The name and the huge seemless world. That's all.

    If this is the old game , and old school sandbox MMO , but now on working engine - than there is reason to be excited. If its only another chinese excuse for MMO , than skip

    I just got goosebumps, Woah ! I played the original and the thing I loved the most, exploring. It was so massive, it truly lived up to the word. I hope for the sake of the genre, this is polished and full of the old games ideas. From the trailer, that is the graphic engine....

    Exploring was basically all you could do, the game was a buggy mess that was highly criticized and is widely considered one of the worst titles in gaming history.

    I played it, I know what state the game was in. Yet, I still had fun :)
