People are going to be disappointed, but that's expected of shallow sandbox games. No press reviews, no open beta, and a $59.99 price tag? Sounds like a quick cash grab to be honest.

edit: changed "scam" to "cash grab".

Did you read day 1 patch? if not get the f word out of here sir ! Don't read the patch notes but comment and post your lackluster point of view
What about them?  It didn't invalidate my opinion of shallow sandbox games.  Without goals, or proper tools for the community, it's basically a glorified survival game, such as Day-Z.  What this game needed was a conquest/RvR gametype.  I don't know if guilds/clans can be made in-game, but it would go a long way to building a community, and giving incentive to stick around.

We're not even getting review copies (no one is), which says "hmmm" but, I'm still hopeful. I'll buy it if word is good. EDIT: Forgot to add I'm glad it's 3 days later on PC. Makes it better for us who want to wait.
They didn't send out review copies for DOOM either, but that game was freaking amazing. Well, single player at least. In fact, I think I'll go play for a bit.

Translation: I want to be able to kill people for no reason. Any game which doesn't let me do that is 'shallow'.

I think you need to put your brain back into the enrichment chamber for awhile, but that's just me.

AN' DERE AIN'T NO SUCH FING AS ENUFF DAKKA, YA GROT! Enuff'z more than ya got an' less than too much an' there ain't no such fing as too much dakka. Say dere is, and me Squiggoff'z eatin' tonight!

Why does my suit have a larger inventory than my ship?

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.

That is fixed in the patch.

They must really feel like their backs are against the wall, working non-stop until release to produce the best product they can.

I'm sure they're working very hard to give us a great game.

"No Man's Life" doesn't look a life a video game, looks like a huge sink hole for time to waste.

Unless you're getting paid to do it, that pretty much explains every video game.

That's not what i said though.  In fact, you just described NMS, which was my point.  I said the game needs a purpose beyond just surviving.  As it is currently, the game has no purpose for killing, other than for survival.

Sorry for your confusion, but he nailed it.  There is no purpose to the game.  Sure you can do all these wonderful things, but why?  No one else can see what you build.  When you leave a world it all goes poof.

And if you are going to tell me the purpose is to get to the center, then excuse me because I and many others just do not see the point of that.

If you make an exploration game, give it some purpose, like the old Starflight game.  It is like they wrote half a game and stopped.  And calling this a multiplayer game is a real stretch.

If you still insist on getting this game, go in with the expectations that you time in game will be short lived.  You will be bored within a week or two.

It is always possible that they will eventually add some kind of purpose to this game, but I would not hold your breath.

It is just as he said a shallow sandbox game which is rather a shame, they could have done so much more with it.

I'm following the development of NMS since 2012, i will buy it when it goes live. Now, it may be good, bad or mediocre. We'll have to wait till launch and see. However a cash grab it is certainly not. Yes, the price tag is high but you can't characterize a product worked on passionately by its developers for 5 years as a cash grab.

People here doesn't even seem to know what kind of game No man's sky is supposed to be...Multiplayer and RvR.....Heh? No man's sky is a space exploration game with a strong emphasis on survival, crafting and resource gathering....There's litterally endless fresh planets with their own climate, ecologi, secrets etc.

Saying it will suck cause it lacks a specific story or multiplayer is like calling out Doom for not having a love story

Some wild fanboys on this site lol. If they weren't so ridiculous I'd swear they are actually paid by these game devs. A day one patch isn't extra content a dev gets a pat on the back for, it's just fixes that should already be in the $60 game.
I don't get haters and day one patch is in game in those 60$ I don't even get what the hell you talk about ....
If you got a leaked version it's you own fault by the way they said you must delete you saves if not you won't experience same game beginning as people who will play at release day ...

    [mod edit]

Day 1 Patch Inventory and Cargo was Fixed
Almost all game aspects where changed also Multiplayer aspects where added ....

    [mod edit]

Eldrach Multiplayer aspect was added in last patch we can actually try and hunt other players .....considering Universe is 10 time bigger now chance to find them is low but the tools for it are in game

I'm such a hyped fanboi right now )))) just because I think Patch changes are A Game Changer

There's not really much to call multiplayer...you can scan systems other people have explored, but the only way to interact with other people is to shoot them....Which again is pretty pointless as of now

i want to see in the patch "player capital ships added" thing to happening :) Edit: I like this game so far. Hyped? nope. have some conserns, but thats all. An indie studio who are make NMS, so i paying for what i got(and what they are tell it is in the game), but mainly because i see the possibilities how can it grow (i look at you Minecraft! what is started as indie and a one player game with few crafting). Even when its fail, i'm not going to feel cheated,(like with The Divison).

How the game can be better if the patch is release today and ready to be played tomorrow?
It's only because of Sony who wants to get the opportunity to make more money.
