    I find it hard to believe that TERA beat out FFXIV. I don't trust SuperData though, so there's that.

    The data and the classifications are pretty spot on for their target audience. You're not their target audience.

    After a cursory Google search, the address listed for SuperData is a Wework station that is vacant and available for rent. Someone a bit better at this kind of thing needs to have a look.

    I'm not convinced this isn't a cover website run by @nariusseldon

    WeWork  is an office building that can be rented by the month for many different businesses.  It is a much cheaper way to rent an office in downtown NYC than many other options. There is nothing to that.  Wework is global.

    What is your point?
    That they don't have an address and their data is locked behind a large paywall. This doesn't seem sketchy to you?

    Yeah if you have 'Superdata Arcade' service you can get a break down. It is for developers and publishers but MMORPG.com could probably get it. hint hint guys ;)
    You don't necessarily need SDA. You can request specific reports of data and choose which titles/categories you want the data from. The infographics and charts that get put out are all very high level and based on a lot of data that is reserved for contributors and paying customers. For example, if you were looking at F2P titles and wanted to see where the market was, you could get something as simple as an overview or a deeper dive on specific titles that includes historical data on (where applicable): 
    • Full Game Sales (box/DD revenue)
    • Average Box Price
    • Average Subscription Fee
    • Subscribers
    • MAU (Monthly Active Users)
    • Microtransaction Conversion
    • ARPPU (Average Revenue Per Paying User)
    • Full Game Revenue, Microtransaction Revenue
    • Subscription Revenue
    • Total Digital Revenue 
    It's pricey, but for the people that need it, it's worth it.

    Yeah, educated business people are the intended audience. It probably doesn't make a lot of sense to, you know, other people. :chuffed: What I mean by that is they are using those terms for their peers within the context of their industry. They're not using community fan terms.

    Like blueturtle said the detailed report costs money. This is just a headline newsbite for their customers, much like you see on the news page here. You have to read the report for the details.
    Well, when you start sharing data to those outside your organization or community, then the responsible thing to do, is to classify things properly, otherwise you cause confusion and hurt your own reputation in the process.  They can classify genres however they want, but they should also expect scrutiny.

    Not sure why you're quoting their website for me... I just think it's important to know their sources before we start citing them as a legitimate source of information. They can say they have insider information all they want. Meanwhile, it could just be a guy using his cell, while he's on the toilet, tossing up Google searches.

    I love this because in spite of people saying that SWTOR has done poorly the decision to hybrid P2P with F2P has clearly paid off for them. Bravo !

    Was wondering what Fantasy Westward Journey II was and came across this



    It's a turn based MMORPG with 250 million registered users and 500 servers ....goodness me . It says mobile though.
