I can't wait to try this game again if this is a real announcement. I never got the chance to finish it before my xbox red ringed, and I have a PS4 now so hopefully this happens. This game was really cool, I never knew I wanted an open world wild west style game until Rockstar released this.
PC as well? It's about damn time the game gets a PC release! My favorite Rockstar game by far.
yeah that doesnt work well with me. simply the same game, better graphics and oh you can play it with a mouse and keyboard now instead of a controller but likely your going to wish you where playing it with a controller.
this whole 'yeah but the game is now available for PC' is WAY overblown in its impressiveness by like light years
Not to me, I haven't played it and, as I mentioned, "now I can". It's huge. I can't be the only person in this boat.
well just so you know, I havent played it as a remake nor am I excited about it so maybe your assumption that there are fields of people just salivating at the chance to play this game on PC because they never did on console may be a bit more unknown then a lot.
If I and a few others on this site haven't I bet statistically there are at least a few more and then a few more, etc.
But you know what? We can just see when the time comes, they release it, and we can take a look at some of the sales numbers.
I mean, there certainly were enough who bought Dark Souls on PC (crappy port) so that they made dark souls 2 on pc (slightly better port) and then finally dark souls 3 (much better port).
actually I think the number of people who really are excited about playing this game and yet never have because they never bought a console is actually rather low. People who are excited about playing the game likely would have played it by now. Those who are casually interested but not really that into it however might be high and those people might buy it but generally speaking given how long its been out those that really want to play it would have by now.
thanks

I never played RDR the first time around - I'm British to Westerns don't appeal to me at all. I'm too young for western movies to have been part of my childhood and we don't have any deserts in the UK so the setting is somewhat jarring.
That being said, I love Rockstar and I'm all about mechanics and gameplay. A remastered version for PC means I'll be able to get the most out of the game and likely wont have to pay full price for it. The PC version of GTA5 is amazing - the graphical improvements alone are worth it, let alone the other stuff.
As to why remastering?
I'm guessing its down to brand recognition. Both Bethesda and Rockstar have reached a point of popularity where they can get funding for mega-games like TES and GTA, but they take many years to produce. Spending 6 months on a remaster helps keep the brands alive and a bit of cash coming in whilst not affecting dev schedules for their main titles.
Admittedly, I'd rather see Morrowind remastered rather than Skyrim, likewise GTA3 was my favourite GTA until 5 came out, but im sure we all have our own preferences. There is also a fine line when it comes to remakes - do you just update the graphics, or do you go for gameplay too? Like the upcoming FF7 remake, they're redoing everything and just keeping the main story. The magic of the original mechanics will be lost, replaced with a modern equivalent, which to me is going to cheapen the experience.

I remember getting a big laugh watching my son hog tie the whole town of Blackwater and then he piled them all up on the railroad track before the train made its full circuit.
I find the hype around game re-mastering to be offensive. By that I mean I wish developers would work on new content. This technology around gaming over the past 20 years has barely even scratched the surface of what can be done. but they appear to take the lazy road AND hype it
It blows my mind at what people settle for. For example, nearly every game launches flawed and fanboys make excuses saying, "it's expected as a game." I don't buy that, any other industry you expect to get quality for day one whether it be as big as making aircrafts and vehicles or the person flipping burgers....somehow the gaming industry has found people that will settle for failure...I dunno...

not to counter all 'Frontier style' games other than what i would like but I do want to mention a 'Froniter' version of' Wurm Unlimited with improvements' would be exactly something to get me excited about.

Never had a chance to play this gem since the last console I owned was the PS2. I did always want to play this though. Heard nothing but good things. Really happy to hear it will be available on PC. I will definitely pick it up. Thanks for posting this info Blue!
