Dark Age of Camelot. World of Warcraft made it obsolete in everything except the Realm versus Realm combat but, before WoW, DAoC was the only MMORPG I played that I didn't lose interest in after a day or two.
loved DAoC . but will say that DAoC has now and had then more interesting classes and choices than Wow easily imo
I picked Everquest because of the simple /lfg feature, heavy reliance on other players, and the diety system which were all great imo. I probably played more hours of EQ than any game since.

Runescape was my first ever MMO, my friends and I would sneak and play it after school in the library since none of us had PCs at home. I was 13 when it released.
SWG was the game we all went to a few years later. We were in high-school then and it was the greatest thing ever to happen to us lol.
