This is why i hate message boards, people always think i'm taking all of this "too seriously". Sorry i don't use emotes to show some kind of emotion, it would slow down my typing.
I do read and understand what people are saying, but saying such things like RB is a dishonest company when there is no proof whatsoever of the contest being a scam is not being rational. I did admit that the situation is unpleasant, I too would like to be testing right now, but that doesn't mean we won't be allowed in long before the game goes gold. Like the old saying goes, it's not over until the fat lady sings (or something alike).
We'll all know if this was a publicity stunt or a scam if the game goes gold 2 weeks after we're allowed in.
I AM saying that they've already missed the mark. For those fanboys and the kids out there it doesn't mean anything, still looks like a great game. But for those of us in adultland that work for our money, and have experience in various interactions of this type it has already made a bad impression and from here they are gonna play catch up.

We got into a beta for an ambitious game by a small development company, have some friggin patience and decorum. It'll come when it comes, if it doesn't will you post a rant like this every day? LOL have a nice life.
I just want to ask If I am the only one from the so-called "winning list" who haven't had a second e-mail from RedBedlam? If not -> let me ask here -> what we won? Did we won ANYTHING? or just empty words? Did they - Redbedlam - just made an advertisment of the game because it was not noticed by a large community not intending to let winners into the game? It looks so for me. Just to refresh some -> in the mid of JULY all of us received an email in which we were told that within 48 hours we will receive second one with a link to a proper page with a registration etc etc etc Now it is nearly a full month since then. Patience has borders -> I want to underline - we were NOT applying to play this game and thus agreeing to WAIT in a line to be allowed -> we WON the PRIZE (yeah right ...) If RedBedlam cannot understand it then maybe they shouldn't even bother with starting this contest?
All the "omg we liek didnt get our emails in da first 15 secnds so leik RB is dishnest" should take thier subterranean troll grammar and lack luster spelling else were. Like it was said earlier, if your so upset about a few setback's tell Redbedlem to revoke your beta account. To be frank all of you who complain are being extremely childish, there are people on the RV boards who have been waiting to get into beta for years, you get the oppertunity and becauase a few deadlines were missed you cry bloody Mary, like the old proverb says "Begger's can't be chooser's".
Remembering that Redbedlem is a very small company and this game was a very bold idea, they had to create the engine from scratch because there was no engine that could support the things that the community suggested. Then the president personally contact us and offers you bronze shields as compensation for the delays, again things are handed to you on a little plate.
Come next year I'll be doing political science for my VCE in year 10, just thought I'd mention that because it's pritty impressive. And on that note, my rant is concluded.

I believe RB ran into a problem and they can't give us what we won. I'm pissed as hell and beyond, but that doesn't mean I can't respect them and their problem. Calling someone a liar and a cheater and a dishonest company for running into a problem is stuping yourself to a whole new level of immaturity. Maybe they are lieing, but I wasn't raised to assume that. People are entitled to their opinion though, and you just heard mine.

I decided to skip the whole misunderstanding you have about periods and commas as an entire yellow post would cause readers to miss the forest for the trees. First of all, they didn't go silent for a month, Kanoth AND KFR came here to post on several times. And second of all, I thought you lost all hopes about this game and were going back to WoW since they are really really reliable.

maciopa, I'd like to tell you that what we have won is like air--you can't see it, and the only way you'll know its there is by using it. Anybody who wants to say we haven't gotten anything yet, please post your responses in your local recycling bin, because most people would prefer that space your post would take up here to be recycled.
That being said, all we have recieved so far is assurance that the problems will be resolved soon. If you still want to rant with points like where maciopa said we didn't win to be put in a waiting line....we're right at the top of the list with people whom had applied and were chosen by the time we won the contest. I'm assuming that means nobody has been let into testing since the contest here was over, and if they were contacted saying they were accepted, they're probably as eager as you to get in...although I think I'd prefer their company to yours.

How much does it take to write an e-mail that could clarify the situation? I asume they are adult and proffessional and if they write "You will be contacted within 48hrs" -> they do that, like any other company would. If You are working and Your boss will give You deadline - what will You do? extend it into "infinity" just because You cannot handle the problem? -> if so - You would be fired ASAP. It is the real world's market - if one company cannot handle its pressure maybe it is time to change the profile? You may flatter them by shooting at me with Your posts but it will not solve the whole situation.

the Commercial Test application page is currently down for upgrades and maintenance but we're EXPECTING it to be back online within 48 hours
EXPECTING is just about the same thing as ESTIMATE, nothing sure about both.
Unfortunatly there's been a problem with the database wich needed to be fixed before we receive our second e-mail. Kanoth said this issue as been resolved but something else urgent came upon them that needed immediate attention. By the time it was resolved, they were almost finished with the new MAJOR client patch. So instead of having us come in and test something that would be changed soon, they prefer to let us in once the MAJOR patch was deployed leaving us with a better product and a whole new set of bugs to hunt.

That would assume that they have plenty of people working on it, but from what we know, thats not the case. Their "boss" is KFR, whom happens to do a lot of the work; time taken out to find all the winner's e-mails in the database, and e-mail each of us seperately, as well as time to visit and post at forums, would have been time better spent working on the problem. As, I think, Kanoth said in a post at one of the forums, KFR hasn't been posting since that problem arose.

Well if you were producing an ambitious game with a small startup company that is probably on a tight budget, would you
a) Take care of vital production/hardware issues
or
b) Spend the week writing 180 apology emails to ungrateful contest whiners

Personally, yea I think it sucks that it's been a month now and we haven't gotten in yet. I don't think that we should be b*tching about it. Problems happen in life, and I can promise you that everyone has had issues come up and you've had to postpone something, even if it doesn't seem this severe.
If it's such a big problem for some of you, then just send an e-mail saying you'd like to turn over your account to someone who'd actually appriciate it and accept it for what it is. a gift. it's a gift to be given these beta accounts.
Do you really think the company doesn't care about you? they're doing the best they can to fix their problems and get everythign straight. they're not just sitting on their asses chuckling at the effects that this creates on you. Perhaps some of you don't realize how much work is put in to a game. especially with a small company. I can tell you from playing Endless Ages, made by 5 people, it's one hell of a task programmers do, making these games. It's not just bunching your ideas together and popping out the product.
And to a few of you, specifically Maximos. You're calling us fanboys and saying that 'you have an actual life.' I'm 15. I'm an actor, and I have a job. I wake up at 6:00 AM every day for school, and dont' usually get back home till after 11:00 PM. I have a life too. The fact that you're b*tching so much about this game and being so impatient shows that you don't have much else to do with yourself. Get a life, and learn patience.
