$30 isn't bad. I'm still going to wait a bit until after early access launch to see the early feedback though. I already have too many online survival games in my library I never play.

I'm with DMKano. That's my general attitude towards games these days.

    I am not sure.
Why this would be any better than AoC?

They used the same assets, same engine and probably the same Siege mechanics.
To me that's just a small scale AoC, anything you can do in this game you could do it in AoC.
    Unless I am missing something.

AoC is dead so they had to do something with its assets.
Exiles is just a cheap way to recycle an old game and turning it into the flavor of the month hoping to squeeze some extra cash from the IP.

I understand why Funcom did it, but I am not sure it will pay off.

No need to. I'm just going to have a lot of meetings*wink wink* that day.

I'll be grabbing the barbarian edition and making my way to the total PVE server. I'll be playing at work, my dad won't know I'm playing if I stay in the office all day. I'll make sure I get ahead with anything I need to do the day before

Never take off work/school on a launch day. There's almost always technical issues the first day at least.

they did not use the same engine. not the same siege mechanics either. Exiles is made with Unreal Engine.

Its an EA game.. people are nuts to pay $60 for an EA game.
It's not even complete..and they will wipe your progress after a time.

    This is BS.

For EA around 20 would be better. And 60 for CE at EA hmm, maybe something for launch but EA..

Wiping is a thing about survival games bro. You new to the genre? Ever played an official game on Ark that has no wipes? It is cancerous. A new player can never get a foothold on the server. It's the nature of the beast and if you don't like it then tough luck I guess.

I agree, that $30 is not bad IF there was a free trial or some kind of way to play for free first hand to evaluate if its worth it or not for you.

But paying $30 without a test drive, nope, IMO thats a no go.

There won't be a trial, so your best bet will be Youtube vids come launch day.

Having a free trial for an early development game I think would not be a good idea. Early development should tell you that it's guaranteed to have issues out of the box... because.. well its early in its development. Giving a free trial for an EA game I think would be a nail in the coffin for a lot of games considering that gamers now judge an entire game based on their first experience(and in EA games case, wouldn't be good) and not waiting to see how a game develops. The fee, I personally think, helps support them with development and shows the dedication or interest level of some people in the product.

I get all that, Ive supported a fair share of EA games, few of which panned out.

Everyone can spend their money and support companies as they wish.

I am at the point where without actual first hand gameplay (see if the game installs ok and how it runs on my PC at minimum), I am unlikely to pay a cent.

The issue is NOT the money, I spend $30 on totally unnecessary stuff, the issue is the principle of it.

If a dev really thinks their product is worth it, let me test drive it first.

Or at least give paid customers guest passes, to be honest that's free marketing.

One of my biggest peeves with Conan was same for most games, they just scatter mobs around with no purpose or meaning.I also do not like instance type in the world gameplay which Funcom did a lot of.By instance i am not talking about going in to some instance like they did with for example Tortilege ,i am talking about game world sections that were not open world, they were phased in with each individual player, like a single player game and not a mmo.SWTOR did the same thing with those red/green room colors,it really turned me off, breaks immersion and is NOT a MMO design,it is a single player game design.

World:Ok they have the brownstone rock, loincloths, but aside from that.does it really feel like a Conan world, well we will have to see this time around. If my memory serves me,is this not a more of a Survival game this time around? That would tell me lack of effort, just whip out some assets and let the players ummm build their huts?lmao so yeah not much game in survival games.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

The very first survival game I actually plan to play, looking forward to next week. Just hope they increase some server's populations to appeal to large-scale pvp'ers.

Stop paying for early access games and they will stop charging or offering it. I like my meals finished not half cooked and still cold..

Why pay to be a tester.. I never got the logic.

They are supposed to PAY for testers or do a few open betas to get the bugs out.

But hey to each his own..No thanks I can wait until it actually comes out later this year.

Not paying a cent to this unless I can play it first hand to see if its worth it.

Those on the Xbox usually get an hour or so for free during "game previews" which I'm guessing this one will be in.
