ME Andromeda: victim of SJW cancer or just bad artists?

I dunno....I was just hoping for a better game.  Once upon a time Bioware made great games with great characters who had great voice-overs within a great story.  That company is gone and likely will never return. 

I could say the same thing about Lucasarts, when it was called Lucasfilm.  Those were some of the best point and click adventure games ever created, then they started churning out quantity over quality and you got about 50 awful star wars games.

Bethesda games seem to regress with every game, features being cut in favor of a better looking.sounding game.  But, unlike Bioware games, those games are intended to be modded by PC users who turn a decent Skyrim into an all time great Skyrim. 

Rock Star and Blizzard still seem to make high quality games.  So there are a few older companies still up there making top notch games.  Just not Bioware.

I was hoping for a better game, I got a bushy eyed Ryder who looks and sounds like she would be better off haning around Lillith Fair in the 90s than exploring an entire new galaxy that seems to be populated by only a few species of creatures.

Well i guess i need to remind some users of something because it seems underneath all the rhetoric what i am about to say gets lost...forgotten.

You see SOME people have a lot of passion in their hobby or interests,so sometimes they can seem over the edge.
Personally i rather see passionate people than just hiding behind advertising articles or people that make threads just to say ...GREATEST game of all time with NO substance at all.

Personally i have so much knowledge of game design that when i enter a game,i cannot help but dissect every last inch of it.When i see something that looks like the developer simply doesn't give a shit,then i will be sure to make note of it.
Far too many people have been accepting crappy effort by developers,i don't like it because it does spread like a disease throughout the industry.

And as i said in that thread.. Imperial colonialism does give him at least a few points... We "white people" did fuck up a decent amount of the world at one point or another.

Not everyone shares that opinion, it's also not good to use your personal experience to shut down a conversation. The only good thing about cancer is the jokes you can make about it. If I didn't have jokes I'd just have cancer. (Indolent NHL or indolent Non-Hodgkin lymphoma) Its not like them avoiding the joke or hyperbolic use will cure my or your cancer. Hell i call bad teammates worse than cancer some times. Hell I'd rather be back on chemo than playing 4 or 5 bad games of a moba with horrible teammates.

So do I. It was one of the first things that struck me as I mentioned in my mini-preview OP. Skin flaws and less than supermodel looks do make the game more immersive for me as well.

i've watched several hours of lets players that have, which honestly is a godsend these days when you can't rely on hype to give you the facts.
I'll play it, or not, when i consider it a worthwhile thing to do, thankfully this is the information age, and i'd rather make my purchases from an informed position than one of ignorance, blind purchases these days are an extravagance that i prefer not to indulge in.

When did marketing hype ever give the facts? As for blind purchases I'd prefer to give the five bucks to EA access to trial said game rather than rely on watching someone else play a game. I can just never view that atmosphere as a true run of a game as the person playing is more focused on putting on a show than actually playing. I could see that working for mindless beat em ups, fps multiplayer games etc. Yet not a game you're supposed to be engrossed in a story, atmosphere, etc.. That just isn't the environment for that kind of game.

I'm Irish. My Great Grandfather was a slave. So yes you did miss it.
Even so historical context means absolutely nothing. An insult intended to belittle or humiliate someone based on physical appearance or trait is fucked.

Yeah my Shepherds as an example are purposely as ugly as possible as are most of my characters in other RPGs, I pick the worst complexion possible simply because it's a person who fights constantly. Being pretty in that respect makes no f'n sense.

Now the Jews... i´l give you that one and iirc we even have specific word for hating on them (seeing as it is not about race in a biological sense but a cultural thing)

As for the rest...  the Armenian genocide was.. well.. a genocide and while i agree that it was henious waht i could find out it targeted pretty much anyone in the region not part of the Ottoman empire. 

Rhodesia was a British colony... So.... My guess on who brought the racism there first is not with the indigenous people. 

Genocide and mass murder does not equal racism. Only asshattery.

Also that was why i said  "systematic and institutionalised" as in when the racism gets worked into the fabric of society.

sorry for it quoting on phone and it keeps bugging out. With Rhodesia this was after its independence with most communities intermingling. Black nationalist uprising led to the murder and in many cases rape of white farmers. On the fact that many many generations prior that's land was tribal. As in all of it belonged to the chief. It was also extremely infertile and unused.  So after settlers claimed the land these natives waited many generations and killed the descendants of those who claimed the land. But that's ok because their ancestors were racist. So if a black man calls me a honky my great great grandson can kill his descendants.

All I'm dismissing is racially-motivated fake outrage whose only purpose is to minimize true institutionalized racism by portraying the racist comments of a brown person as being equivalent to the real racism he has experienced.
