people should try to spend more time working on being right about something and taking the correct position rather that just being difficult to other people for sport.
rant over
But it's the same game with the same developers. ....
I dont think even that is correct. My understanding is that they sold to Telltale the code at a snapshot in time and that TellTale are the developers for the console version while Fun Pimps are doing the PC version.
There is no question that the console version of 7DTD is horrible, its been reviewed as such all over the place and it doesnt take a lot of effort to see it in game play. The PC version however is doing very well in reviews because well,....ITS NOT THE SAME FUCKING GAME!
more over, early access versin is not for sale on windows 10 store but for some reason you want to pretend like it is. I assume its because there are so few selling points to windows 10 store that you feel a need to tilt the truth as far to a lie as you can without actually doing so because you have nothign else to stand on? really?
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

Go to the 7daystodie website..they announce when they release patches for the PC AND Console....
They are linked and get similar release schedules, it just takes longer for it to reach consoles... all patches do. Same game.
fair enough but several things
1. from what I have read the console version has more bugs 2. from my expereince I personally can not imagine a console controller version of that specific game being remotely a pleasant experience and that appears to be the case 3. stastically speaking it is nearly impossible for one version of a game to have CONSIDERABLY worse metacritic scores then another version without there being a difference in the game. The difference is large in that and its statistically highly unlikely that is even possible without something affecting the two different games 4. i forgot that all console titles on windows 10 are also PC so on that point i am mistaken

Thank you for taking the time for taking the correct position and being correct rather than being difficult. It's obvious they're the same code base but for some reason Sean is being difficult about that.
This game would get shredded in the gaming media if they tried to pass off two completely different games with the same name. Gamers are generally unkind about the game in that situation.
if the major updates are lagged then they are obvious NOT the same code base. more over, the code was changed, had to be changed becuase of controllers. and finally as I have stated I personally cant imagine playing that game with a controller, I think out of the games I have that one would not work that well but I will also admit on that front I have an expereince deficit but to say they are the same code base is not being honest.
There is a HUGE difference between playing Alpha 13 lets say for example and playing Alpha 15

So back to the whole point of this which I dont recall but I THINK the point was that Windows 10 store is awesome because it has one early access title that is also a horrible port and about 2 major updates behind oh and Quantum Break?

The point was that it has a lot of games, you said none that you play.. unfortunately that isn't true. Even if it is behind, you still play 7DTD and Elite Dangerous right? I'm sure there are plenty more. Just because you don't like consoles, Microsoft, and Microsofts Store won't change what they have on it and what is playable on console.

ah you got me you clever devil! Although i said 'no games' I clearly didnt mean no to very very few so I guess your right because its 2 out of about 15 games I have played in the past 2 years or so it must be an awesome framework, I should check it out and just dump all the other games like Medieval Engineers and Wurm that I have been playing mostly lately.
thanks for clearing that up for me
I guess the 'point' I am trying to illustrate here is this 'why are some people getting hyper gitty excited about a store that isnt even as good as steam, let alone a reason to use it instead of steam'

It's actually better than steam if you have XBL Gold because you get free games every month, many of which are worth much more than the cost of XBL.
It also has a lot of games steam doesn't have and will never have. Microsoft has the opportunity that all it takes to run a game is to allow it through the operating system. If they wanted and Xbox to run steam... it would. In fact. It could.
It's like asking.. "why do people use apple devices when windows devices are more compatible with everything".

actually a pretty good response. lets take a look
Xbox Live Advantages over Steam 1. free games which are worth more than xbox membership cost vs no free games but also no membership cost (steam) 2. has games Steam doesnt have or never will have. Problem here is that Steam has games that Windows store doesnt have and likely never will have. I would like to compare the two current lists. I suspect Steams list of games that is not on Windows Store is significantly larger, would you like to run that test? 3. OS...not sure what your saying here but its painfully easy to run a game from windows using steam. This data point seems desperate to me I would dump it if I were you. 4. running Steam in xbox (i think is what your saying) is idotic. sorry I dont follow you
ok so that list is pretty weak frankly. the only material one I see is 1.

Trying to pit one against the other is kind of silly. Xbox Live and Microsofts store on Xbox is its own ecosystem.
Its like trying to put the Android store against Steam. How many users do you think have access to the Google Play Store? (newsflash, google play has over 1 Billion active users).
It begins with ecosystem. Xbox uses a version of windows 10, and new systems with hardware that is comparable to a good gaming PC is just around the corner. As stated Microsoft is looking to bridge the gap between all of their platforms with windows 10. Does that mean that xbox could eventually run steam? I don't see why not. Microsoft also sells games on steam, I'm sure they don't care where they get money from.
As for exclusives.. Sure PC has plenty of exclusive titles XB won't have. But... the PC does have them, and it all goes back to MICROSOFTS ecosystem. As long as they run the operating system, they still have a semblance of control
If Steam were to take their ball and go home (remove steam from windows machines) they'd have no chance in surviving. How are those steamOS boxes doing? After their first year, sales didn't even reach 500K of their own hardware. In comparison both consoles of PS4 and XB1 sold millions in their FIRST DAY.

You can think that. But most people don't care what you think. If they own an Xbox, they make a choice to be part of the ecosystem and play those games because those are the kinds of games they like, and likely Steam doesn't have nor will they get those games.
Same with PS4. Sony creates and makes games XB and Steam will never get.
Steam will, unfortunately, have to continue to rely on microsofts operating system to keep their popularity. Steam, you see, is a dependent ecosystem. The other two are proprietary. Without microsoft, steam is irrelevant as their steam OS and their linux support is severely lacking in comparison.

same is true for Xbox/
what universe do you live in which 'active users' for xbox somehow is different from 'active users' in Steam without any definition. IN fact, does the article about xbox even say 'active users' or are they just people like me who had to sign up for xbox live 10 years ago to get a PC game working and hasnt used it since?
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
yeah but without looking it up, without any evidence, its clear that 'active users' for xbox means 'real' active users and for Steam it means something like mobile only accounts or poeple trading.
yawn

Active users on xbox are way more profitable than active users on steam. Thats the point.

first of all as a gamer trying to decide which platform or which game to play, profits to the company is not the primary motivating factor in determining quality of my experience. in other words, who gives a fuck how much microsoft is taking?
second off what makes you say that exactly? forvgive me if you already stated it I will scan back a bit looking for it. nevermind too much text has passed. If you could please copy and paste your explaination of why you think MS makes more money per customer, I also wouldnt mind an explaination as to why that is a feature to me as a gamer
ALSO: keep in mind YOU said 'the majority dont agree with you' I am suggesting that its the other way around. we werent talking about profit margins at the time
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

Another question. How does more users equate as a feature to you as a gamer? Does the amount of people that go to walmart make you want to shop at walmart more? LOL your arguments are flailing here.
Lets break this down into what is the absolute truth here.
1) Steam has more users. It is a free service. It has risen to popularity on a Microsoft Platform and requires it to stay popular at this time.
2) Microsoft makes money on Steam by selling games, just as Valve makes money selling games on Microsofts Store. Neither is exclusive.
3) Steam doesn't have more games than Xbox - PC has more games than Xbox. Many games on steam can be played without steam, so it doesn't really count as much of an ecosystem if it isn't necessary to use.
4) Microsoft can choose where to run steam. They can choose to run it on Windows 10S, they can choose to run it on XBox. Just like steam can choose to not sell microsoft games if they wanted.
5) Numbers for being "active" are just users that log in to both Steam and Xbox. The difference here, most of the users that log in on XB use XBL that you pay for monthly. Steam autologs in on every computer I own when I turn it on... What is the difference here? Microsoft is making more money on every active user who just logs in, in comparison to steam that essentially considers you active as long as steam starts up with your PC.

You: 'the majority dont agree with you' me: 'it appears the majority is actually steam not xbox'
what you said, my reply, my position has nothing to do whatsoever about Microsofts profit margin. If you want to make a case that Microsoft makes more money off xbox then fine go ahead, that will be a conversation I dont give two fucks about and will not be part of because I dont care. I dont choose my platform based on how much money the vendor makes

Comprehension is hard. Lets go back to the original quote:
I'm pretty sure that's 100% accurate. It has nothing to do with active users. As long as every fact that I've mentioned that you didn't address continues to go unaddressed I think I'm find with dropping the conversation.
Xbox has less users but more profitable users. If more users equate to a better system, then obviously Googles play Store will forever be better than both console stores and steam combined. Which is also fine with me because I play games off of the play store all the time.
that is what I am responding to in the context of 'what I think' it appears 'most people' actually are on my side of the context of what I said.
of which had nothing remotely to do with profit margins.
At this point there is nothing else you can say that is changing my position on your reponse in quotes above to the context of what I said so you might as well move on.
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

I assume its because there are so few selling points to windows 10 store that you feel a need to tilt the truth as far to a lie as you can without actually doing so because you have nothign else to stand on? really?

Go to the 7daystodie website..they announce when they release patches for the PC AND Console....
http://7daystodie.com/console-patch-3-is-out/
http://7daystodie.com/entrygate.html
They are linked and get similar release schedules, it just takes longer for it to reach consoles... all patches do. Same game.
fair enough but several things
1. from what I have read the console version has more bugs
2. from my expereince I personally can not imagine a console controller version of that specific game being remotely a pleasant experience and that appears to be the case
3. stastically speaking it is nearly impossible for one version of a game to have CONSIDERABLY worse metacritic scores then another version without there being a difference in the game. The difference is large in that and its statistically highly unlikely that is even possible without something affecting the two different games
4. i forgot that all console titles on windows 10 are also PC so on that point i am mistaken

if the major updates are lagged then they are obvious NOT the same code base.
more over, the code was changed, had to be changed becuase of controllers.
and finally as I have stated I personally cant imagine playing that game with a controller, I think out of the games I have that one would not work that well but I will also admit on that front I have an expereince deficit but to say they are the same code base is not being honest.
There is a HUGE difference between playing Alpha 13 lets say for example and playing Alpha 15

Xbox Live Advantages over Steam
1. free games which are worth more than xbox membership cost vs no free games but also no membership cost (steam)
2. has games Steam doesnt have or never will have.

In comparison both consoles of PS4 and XB1 sold millions in their FIRST DAY.
thats really not a good response to my 4 points at all.
its not sounding very good.
I do agree its mostly about ecosystem which is exactly why I think Steam is considerably better than Windows Store at this time

Without microsoft, steam is irrelevant as their steam OS and their linux support is severely lacking in comparison.
lol..
ACTUALLY....as it turns out 'most people' 125 million + of them perfer Steam over xbox (55 million) so your opener kinda falls flat there buddy

And over 1 Billion active users on google play store like android over steam? So what are you saying? Androids Store is better I guess. Great chat.
same is true for Xbox/
what universe do you live in which 'active users' for xbox somehow is different from 'active users' in Steam without any definition. IN fact, does the article about xbox even say 'active users' or are they just people like me who had to sign up for xbox live 10 years ago to get a PC game working and hasnt used it since?
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
Please do not respond to me
55 million 'active users' for Xbox
125 million 'active users' for Steam
yeah but without looking it up, without any evidence, its clear that 'active users' for xbox means 'real' active users and for Steam it means something like mobile only accounts or poeple trading.
yawn
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

Xbox Live is still more profitable than PSN, and even though Steam may have more users, Microsoft makes more money off of Xbox Live itself.

Microsoft is making more money on every active user who just logs in, in comparison to steam that essentially considers you active as long as steam starts up with your PC.
your over complicating
You: 'the majority dont agree with you'
me: 'it appears the majority is actually steam not xbox'
what you said, my reply, my position has nothing to do whatsoever about Microsofts profit margin. If you want to make a case that Microsoft makes more money off xbox then fine go ahead, that will be a conversation I dont give two fucks about and will not be part of because I dont care. I dont choose my platform based on how much money the vendor makes
