Not to be a pain, but I come to the forums to read posts, if I wanted to watch a video about Bless I would go to You Tube not here.
How about doing some typing and telling us what you think about Bless and why its worth a look. It doesn't have to be an essay just a paragraph would do.

Actually a fair point, however in my past posts in recent times I have tried to accompany my links with paragraphs supporting the link. The engagement with the posts weren't much better, so I decided to test just dropping a link this time. Maybe, MMORPG just isn't a great place to post anymore. I used to frequent these forums a lot way back!
Actually i prefer videos over reading,i get headaches reading too much lol. However i already checked into this game, but i'll watch anyhow to see what you say is anything i missed. You tried harder to unsell me than sell me.
I can't stand the term RAID nor do i like games that stick tougher cotnent and loot in dungeons. You also mentioned tough versus your gear,i can't stand GEAR games,i prefer abilities that allow the player to control the combat, not the gear controlling it. Don't like pvp in rpg's,especially with gear and a cash shop.I pvp almost every second day but not in rpg's.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
I can tell you seeing your skill list/builds,this game like Wow like so many clones does NOT get the MMO thing, this is yet another single player design only adding in the RAID and Dungeon idea to group. I don't thin kany game wil ever offer the versatility of FFXI characterization, nothing will come close and why it is so tough for me to accept LESSER games that keep coming out.Same reason i keep going back to UT99,the combat is just better for pvp,i can't play a game that does ideas worse.
BTW those buffs that get players excited are already figured in by devs, you'll never break the game, they only give you those Runes or buffs to make you think you are getting better but it is as intended to fight your current foes.
HARD MODE is again a terrible idea that ruins immersion, something else modern mmorpg's don't "GET IT".

Or maybe it's just that a thread about some random 10+ minute video is fundamentally problematic from the start. If a few paragraphs have nothing interesting to say, I can back out within seconds. For a video with nothing interesting, you have to waste several minutes of your life to discover that there's nothing interesting there. The people who prefer to talk about videos are already doing so on video sites, not posting on a forum that is mostly about text.

Haha yeah, I guess to each their own right?
As far as toughness and gear goes with PvE. I don't mind that, I don't think it should be heavily gear dependent. To where you get the best gear, and you no longer have to execute mechanics. B But, I do like progressing content through executing better, getting improvement through gear, etc.
I like RPG PvP, in fact RPG PvP is my absolute favorite. I grew up on FPS and RTS, but RPG takes the cake for me. I guess another case of to each their own.
I wouldn't say this game is really much of a WoW clone, there are a lot of nuances that make the gameflow much different. However, I'm not going to say it isn't in line with WoW on being a traditional theme park mmo.

Hello Quizzical, I remember you from way back. I used to really frequent these forums in like the 2009-2012 range, nice to see a familiar face.
As far as the post goes:
- The video isn't random. It is about one of the only few upcoming New AAA MMO releases, that is also very near to release. This is also an MMORPG forum. - I'd say the time investment is about the same in video format, hell the first 30 seconds is where you lose a lot of viewers. - I really really disagree with your last point. Videos have been shared in forums since their inception. The video is posted in order to spark the conversation. When I participated heavily in these forums I linked many videos, and also commented on threads with videos shared. It has been that way in any MMO forum I have participated in.
Also, whenever you are trying to build a viewership from scratch. You can't just rely on the platform's algorithm to jumpstart your growth. It is best if you go outside the platform and bring eyeballs in to help. I am choosing relevant places that I think would find the video beneficial, if they are still following the latest MMO's.
MMORPG used to be my Refresh Home, and I loved commenting in these forums. Now that we have hit a lull in the MMO industry, sites like this have taken a pretty big hit. What fun are forums if there isn't people participating? Maybe, it would better serve these forums to not go high brow on people trying to share something, and bring new activity.
So much forced "hype" for a game that's already failed twice. Desperate times we're in. I get BDO under-performed for a while in Korea, but it never completely shut down like Bless did in Russia and China. Who really knows how its doing in Japan. Given that its been playable for around 4 years and they still need to launch in EA while also delaying classes/races/features that were in the game for 1-2 years in those builds should give people a feeling of angst. I'm not really hoping the game fails again (although, I wouldn't be surprised if it did), I'm just saying people need to dial back the "hype" a bit and keep reality/facts close by. Aeria turned them down for crying out and they'll honestly publish anything that people ask them to publish (although, they are garbage but still that has to tell you something).
WHen I first saw this game I thought it was going to be great.....It had some gorgeous settings...Then I heard its forced PVP and completely lost interest.
I'm excited for Bless, but I am getting a little nervous. We are about a month away from Early Access.
What build are we going to have? ( guild gear? more pvp rewards? arena time limits?)
Is the trade issue resolved? (so will the game have free trading or not?)
What are the prices for everything? (price of the game, the founder's packs?)
Where is the detailed shop information? (what will we have? the prices?)
What does the new combat system look like? (any guides? streams? anything?)
How many servers will we have? (any region specifics?)
The list goes on... There are so many questions and not enough answers.
A lot of great questions, that I too am wondering!
- Arena Time Limits, as in the round ends after a set time? Lol with Time to Kill in Bless I don't think that will be an issue .
- Trading is a big deal to me, definitely need some solution for it.
- Detailed shop is a HUGE deal. That will be make or break for the game imo.
- Yeah, it's crazy that we still don't know what the new combat looks like.
The major issue I have had is the amount of information going out about the game. I mean yes, we have the Japan version to look at, but at the same time we are getting something more developed so shouldn't we be seeing it by now?
I understand if you are too low on resources at this point to have robust marketing, but there are plenty of content creators that will take whatever news you put out and help spread it around! They are really dropping the ball in that area.
Actually i prefer videos over reading,i get headaches reading too much lol. However i already checked into this game, but i'll watch anyhow to see what you say is anything i missed. You tried harder to unsell me than sell me.

And that right there gives the game away. Your thread fundamentally isn't about Bless Online. It's about trying to build viewership for your YouTube videos. That is to say, it's an advertisement.
If your goal were to get your video in front of people interested in the game, you'd have posted it in the game-specific forum, where someone looking into the game might find it a month from now. Rather, you wanted to get it in front of more people, even though it will scroll off and be buried pretty quickly in this forum section.
To your credit, you're at least hanging around to talk about it. Far too often, I see forum accounts that have a handful of posts, often with clickbait titles, and every single one of them is a new thread basically saying, "please go watch my video".
Or maybe it's just that a thread about some random 10+ minute video is fundamentally problematic from the start. If a few paragraphs have nothing interesting to say, I can back out within seconds. I have no clue what you're talking about there. Maybe videos are targeted at people who read really, really slowly or something. But most people with any semblance of an education can read a given amount of text much, much faster than they can say it coherently. Even if the goal is to take the time to see everything you have to say, that takes several times as long in a video as for text.
And that's in the absolute best possible case for videos. You can easily skim text, or skip portions that don't look interesting. Try to skip around in a video and you'll probably make it incoherent. If one hopes to have a discussion, it's easy to quote text to point to what you're replying to, but you can't do that with videos.
Videos of games do have a legitimate place, such as walkthroughs of complicated things that are awkward to describe in text, or letting you see the storyline of a game you don't care to play yourself. But as a way to start an interesting discussion about a game, they're pretty much useless.

Ok, fair points. But why not just post the video here instead of making people leave the site? I usually watch the video when it's posted right in the thread. Leaving the site I rarely do. Just some feedback.

Absolutely, that formula is common in EQ derivative theme parks but there are games like EVE that don't follow it.

The warning signs are already clearly recognized by you, but I suspect you and many others will plunge in anyways.
Just because there hasn't been much new lately is not a valid reason to jump in quickly to such a clearly questionable game.
Seriously, its surprising how many gamers believe "magic" (in terms of a bad game becoming good in a matter of weeks) actually exits in the real world.

Well I couldn't be bothered to read all that (just kidding!) engaging is all I am asking for, after we had that guy in the "sleeper" thread who was...asleep, I thought it might be a trend.
You are right about the population being down, but social media has hit every forum out there. Clearly being able to communicate using 140 characters or using a visual medium beats this(?!). You can post a video here as you did, to me this is still the best way to get an idea across.
But the potential to reach more people is seen as more important than using a vector based approach aimed at those interested in the topics at hand.
There is a parallel there to what happened with MMOs chasing bigger player numbers, one template to suit all.
Thanks for the video! I plan on being there day one!
Me too. Maybe we should group up. None of my mates are going to play this one.

Bless is going to be yet another generic Asian MMORPG, designed with poorer combat than recently released games, like Black Desert. It's like WoW if they tried to implement some sort of action combat system.. that's it.
There is no reason anyone should be excited about it.

You either like the combat or you hate the combat in BDO, but dont say It's like WoW, there are crap load of fun PVE stuff you can do in BDO that hardly any other MMO have, sounds like you never played BDO, and if you did I bet you didn't even get to lvl 15.
