Here is why they wont ever make "adult" games

Cause games are for kids and MOSTLY played by kids

Adult interest are way too varied and games are just kids stuff

and when my friend heard from his friend about World of Warcraft or Guild Wars

then pretty soon it is cool if u are a part of it and pretty soon your whole class
might play just cause its new

and its the thing to do

THEY MIGHT NOT EVEN LIKE IT
everyone has to have it though
so u can be a part of and know what everyone is talking about

and its what we talk about amongst ourselves at lunch
and at break at school

so now you know

cause we are all easily persuaded by good graphics and easy gameplay

you old ppl have all seen that/ done that........ are way too picky

we are the target demographic for them to make huge$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

we are kids

    Figures supernerds biggest booster is also grammatically challenged. Is typing "one" so much more difficult than typing 1? Thats rhetorical btw.

    According to studies the average gamer  is 24+. Dunno where he gets his info. It's those of us that are adults that can buy 3-4 games a month without having to steal from our parents.

    I'm Eightteen and I bought every game myself without the help of my parrents and thats because my parrents don't like me playing games but I don't care what they say, and yes I can type fine it is just easier to type shorthand then use all this mumbo jumbo typing when you can just get your point across in a quicker and easier way. Thats for the guy making fun of the elite gamers that probably have more skill then him.

    What kind of topic is this? My dad is either in his late 30's or early 40's and he loves video games. He will pwn ppl in any kind of game like WC2 and C&C games. He likes halo and first person shooters too. My father basically got me into videogames at a younger age. My mom for a fact i know is older than my dad and she is on a Ms. Pac-Man strict diet image.

    BTW, in the topic title you say "Here is why they wont ever make "adult" games". Who is "they"? and btw there are adult games out there.

    And another thing, the age is around 18+ that plays video games. Not actually little kids. What kind of school are you at where kids buy Video games even if they don't like them cuz they want to be "in"? I remember back in my times the yo-yo's and the digivices were the shiznit but buying 50 buck games just to be "in"? . . . .tisk tisk.

    Someone doesn't have a clue what they're talking about.

    Just a clue, the AVERAGE age of gamers is between 30 and 39 depending on what sources you use.

    The average age of MMORPG players is between 25 and 30 depending on your sources but that data is 2-3 years old now so it's probably moved up to 28 to 34 at this point.

    A correct statement as to why they don't make many "adult" video games is because most "adults" don't need to look at naked women in a video game because they're capable of getting that for free and, like any other adults in society, actually find gratuitous sex in a video game pretty offensive. There's a market for them, sure, and there ARE 'mature' video games out there. But it's a fringe market at best.

    YOU need to give the puter back to daddy and get back in the sandbox. Computers are for mature people, not little snot nossed kids that dont have any clue of the MMO industry.

    Be sure to blow all the sand off the puter before daddy gets home!

    BTW..Go read up on statistics of MMO's and learn who really is the main audience of these games.

    It sure isn't kiddies with daddies credit card.

    Because he is the kid who gets beat up in school and he has to go back in a couple of weeks. So he might as well get his kicks in now and boost his ego while he can because the cold brutality of reality will be setting in again soon.

    Personally I find it more amusing then anything.

    Target demographics are system specific. Nintendo has targeted younger kids to mid teens for over 20 years until just recently. Playstation and XBox have always targeted older teens to adults. Now, systems are increasingly targeting games towards adults because they are the ones who grew up with the systems.

    I am 26 and I have had console systems since the Atari VCS and have owned every system that had hit the shelves after that ( Saturn, Neo Geo, 3D0, Sega CD, Jaguar, Dreamcast, Genesis, NES, Sega Master System, SNES, PS, PS2, XBox, Game Cube, N64, Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Atari 7800 just to name a few ::::02::).

    So us "old" people who grew up with video games will continue to play video games and have video games marketed towards our generation until the day we die out. ::::08::

    The reason companies/ Musicians / advertisments cater everything to young 13-25 year olds is because they are easily duped.

    You might get mad and flame now... but just ask anyone who pays a mortgage. When you pay one... you'll understand as well.

    The average gamer is 28. I wish I had a website to direct you to for that, but I can tell you they mention it QUITE frequently on X-Play (which I enjoy) as well as on many gaming websites. I myself am 23 and a lifelong gamer, and have played an adult MMO. I agree it'll be a while before we see an MMO where you can lop off limbs, and the local drunken dwarf in the pub starts spouting off language that would make a pirate red faced. However, never say never.
