I will give it a try and let ya know if I have luck with it as well. Will be interesting to see how it does on all ram.
Personally I still miss good ole ramdrive.sys!

Please do... I know I've been nothing but thrilled since I thought to turn the sucker off. It didn't make the GAME any faster (it wouldn't) since the game runs in RAM. It makes the OS faster.

Thanks for the help...I'll try and get 2 gigs of RAM soon. In the mean time, however is there any settings I can change in game or on my video card that will make the game more playable for me?

There is a great EQ2 post for setting vid if you can find it. In summary tho...the most intensive GPU hog is shadowing. Turn off all shadows and your game may run smoother. Apologies if some one has already suggested this.
The others are right about RAM in this game tho. SWG has more models for weapons and stuff than any other game I've ever seen. In SWG if you put on a necklace, it shows up on your character! That model and the other millions of models must live some where and if they can't fit into RAM they must be loaded from the HD. Thats why SWG runs so smooth with 2GB of RAM, no HD round trip.

1) On the launcher: Click on Game Options Click on Graphics Change the Vertex Pixel Shader to 1.1 (Override)
Go to Advanced Check "Disable World Preloading" Check "Disable Caching"
Then OK out and launch the game. In the game turn off shadows Turn down the flora detail or turn it off. Reduce the range that flora and fauna are rendered. Turn off bloom (personally I think bloom looks fake in all MMO's anyway, I always turn it off).
Enjoy! That should speed up things dramatically.
