I got it for the ps4 pro.  Running in HDR also with surround sound.  It's an amazing game for sure.  Truly a cowboy simulator.  The story and characters are also great, very much in the vein of GTAV....but less humor.  It's slow though.  Personally, it's painfully slow.  I mean, I can deal with it, but everything you do has this "weight" (and wait lol) to it.  It makes the game feel sluggish.  Honestly, that's how it would be in real life I suppose.  It's just something to get used to.

I think someone on Reddit spotted you at the store...

I am not savvy on this recording stuff so I will just have to describe this random occurrence.

I was in search of this certain npc that later on gives you a free gun if you help him with his snake bite.

After walking around area for a bit I come upon this guy standing behind his horse trying to remove something from its rear hoof.

I rode up did the greet thing Arthur says hello you need help with your horse?

Guy drops horses foot faces Arthur says "sure" and before I could get off my horse and right after he replies the horse kicks him in the head which kills him and rides off lol.

Moral of teh story- make sure you have a good relationship with your horse. ;)

LOL I was close to trading in the switch and and my base ps4 for RDR2 & a XBOX One X but i didnt have the energy or the motivation yesterday so i just went with the regular ps4 edition.

Wow what a game! First off, thankfully the game looks and runs smooth as butter, I don't know what was up with Monster Hunter on the base PS4 but apparently the base PS4 still can hold its own with newer titles such as this one. Without getting into too much detail this feels like more of a Cowboy simulator in a RockStar world than your typical GTA game. The game does feel much slower, and heavier and meatier than most other RockStar games. Its not one of those games where you can hop in and out of in short bursts, If you are going to play this one clear your schedule for a few hours. Its very rare these days for me to lose 4 or 5 straight hours in a single sitting to one game, but thats exactly what happened last night playing this.

So far this is without question the best game i have played all year , Every once awhile a game comes along that immerses you so much it just sets the bar higher for every title there after, this is one of them.

This is my experience as well, The sense of weight & wait lol is spot on but it surprisingly doesn't bore me, as a matter of fact it feels very "right", Its a very immersive and relaxing type vibe. Now whether this remains in hour 60 of playtime we shall see.

Based on everyone's reception so far, I'd buy the game twice if it meant I could play it now.

However, I refuse to buy a console just to play a single game.

Next generation of consoles though, I'm getting a PS5 so this doesn't happen again. PC keeps getting the shaft more and more. When was the last time a AAA studio released a PC exclusive? :disappointed:

My wife and I only play multiplayer games so we'll wait for "online mode" and wait  for it on PC. Console play is just too limiting.

Hopefully, the "online mode" is better than their last release, where it really just felt like an afterthought.

The online mode is not out yet, so this is a beta early access? ;)

Oh I've got plenty of consoles...  PS4, 2 Xbox ones, Switch, Wii U...  I just won't buy the same game twice.

I have to get better at not accidently getting in trouble.  I got money added to my bounty from a mission which involved killing people.  I guess it was bounty hunter but me being the through looter I am was attacked for murder.

Ramming people with your horse will get you assault charges.  Accidentally shooting and causing fights by bumping into people will get you in trouble.  Where are your stand your ground laws?

Is RDR 1 on PC? I didn't think it was. I'm highly doubtful RDR 2 will be coming anytime soon, if so.

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.

There is nothing "limiting" playing RDR2 on the xbox one X I can promise you that.

So is this game a western version of GTA V ? It is actually intriguing me even though I hate western genre with a passion, however, I am a graphics whore though.

Just an FYI for those interested in the Online aspect, you need a Playstation Plus account to play Online. One of many reasons I hate consoles.

Lucky for me I had no intention of playing Online but it still came as a shock to me when i bought it last night.
Thank Microsoft for forcing paid online on consoles and now everyone is doing it. But hey, $50 a year for PS+ is cheaper and offer more than subscribing to one mmo, and people here love subscribing to mmos. That part has become more of a personal preference.

I personally would also play that game offline, not interested in the online part. But i don't know when i'll get that game in particular. I have a long list of games i want to buy first.
You also get free and discounted games. Usually get the Xbox Gold on sale for like 40 bucks.

True, I've purchased PS+ on sale for $40 a few times as well. When you can get them at that price it's just a no brainer, go for it. You can even buy 2 years for $80 and it's a crazy good deal.

I bought it Friday Morning, first guy in the Shop.
Went Home, installed it, patched it, Coffee rdy and Doorbell off, Phone far away, rdy for "sink into the Game". Played it for the whole day.

Sold it today to a friend :(
As mentioned here from some ppl already it feels to slow for me. Then there are the controls when you loot Buildings and such, for me, so bad. So many "walk to the shelf/chest/whatnot again and again" until finally you get the thing looted. So many Doors closed, Buildings i could not enter, NPC's i could not ask etc.

The Camp feels like "work" you have to do. Like getting food rdy and such alike. Also to much for me. To get the "perfect" Pelt for an upgrade. These kind of things drove me away and ruined it for me. There was just, for me ofc, to much "you have to" instead "you can do".

Then also the "lock behind Quest" thing.
Example here is the Stable. And that's not the only one. It just.......i don't know....did not felt right for me, sadly. I was not able to "connect me to the game".

I will miss the GFX for sure. That Game is just astonishing and awesome and gorgeous. But i missed to much :( I feel sad and i'm a bit jealous on you guys which can fully enjoy it. I simply could not :(

    Have Fun Guys!!
    Play one on me!

That is his way of expressing he only plays on PC. But i agree with your statement.

Gonna wait for PC. When I pledged to part be part of the PC master race I did so with the intentions of never turning back, good or bad.  :s

Best game I have played in years. On my 4k TV playing through my Xbox One X this game looks stunning. Just stunning. One of the best looking and playing games I have ever seen. The attention to detail in this 'world' is nothing short of amazing. Not just visually either. The sound design is stellar, the gameplay is varied and nuanced. It is just a marvel of technology.
This is a game I will buy once more on PC when it releases for the platform next year.
This game creates a sense of place unlike any other game I have ever played.
    This is an epic experience.
I want a game like this, but using Asian/Fantasy setting w/ MMORPG features/crafting & gathering OR the same but Lovecraftian.

I'm jealous of your fun and also, good to have you back on the forums.

I so envy you. With a wife and kid and a demanding job that I'm always on-call for, I very rarely can do that and get into a game.

Of course having a family is a blessing but it is just interesting that you prepared so well. I would have exchanged Coffee for a Red Bull and made sure to poop before hand even if I didn't have to.  I couldn't keep my phone far away as I get work-related phone calls at all times of the day.

But kudos to you, it wasn't your cup of tea, but I'd love to do that with a game. Probably will be the start of a new league in Path of Exile and then at the end of a 14 hour day, my char will probably die lol.

    Kudos to you.
