You may remember the Great Fallout 76 Power Armor Edition Canvas Bag Kerfuffle from last week about the last minute replacement of the canvas tote with a cheap nylon one. If you are a Power Armor Edition owner, happy days are here again. According to the Bethesda Twitter account, you're now able to submit a ticket and a replacement CANVAS bag will be sent. Tickets will need to be submitted by January 31, 2019.

Copying from another thread noting the change in stance from Bethesda:

The overarching question of the year: how can we go from needing firing squads to send a message to devs and/or pubs as a fanbase, to only needing to, y'know, communicate like normal people do?

Honestly, it's 100% damage control and, at least to my thinking, too little too late. I mean, it's fabulous that people will get what was promised, but it doesn't smack of good will, just full blown damage control which never feels good.

They caught the infamous Canvas Cat-Burglar of Kentucky.  The world's supply of canvas is safe.....  For now.

yup, they just did this because people complained about it and it looked like a rip off to the customers. The good thing is everyone stood together and are getting what they paid for. They got checked mate. They really are falling out, lol pun intended and the clean up is just beginning.

So they probably should have just said heck with it, customers won't appreciate our efforts to resolve this issue, might as well just spend the money on a great holiday party instead.

You get no points for doing the right thing Bethesda because you had to do it to avert an even bigger problem.

I still don't understand why they didn't just ship the shit in standard packaging and and tell gamers that they had issues with their supplier, and would be sending the bags out as soon as they could get it resolved and would update them as soon as they have new information...

I mean, yea, that means they actually have to buy the bags...  And as a kid, eating your carrots blows, but eating them after you've been whipped by your parents for trying to refuse is worse.

So were the nylon bags made for a lesser priced version or did they just try to pull a fast one hoping no one would notice and or complain?

According to some people, you just had to suck it up, and learn from YOUR mistakes...

That's how customer rights are earned in the real world.
If you don't fight for your rights (even for silly bags), corporations chew you up and spit you out.

Definitely tried to pull a fast one. It's almost like the folks in charge are totally out of touch with their customer base (or regard them with contempt) in terms of what they expect in terms of games or service.

Blizzard seems to also have similar attitudes, I wonder what's driving it?

Wait, it couldn't have anything to do with news about the billions Fortnite is making or SC having a record setting month bringing in $7M in sales / donations for a game that appears never will actually release in the traditional sense.

I can't really blame the devs for behaving as if gamers are morons, there is a decent amount of evidence to support such a conclusion.

Such as....adults paying large sums of money for a plastic helmet and canvas bag?

    Oh yeah, I'm judging.

Companies (and people) just need to say what they mean, and do what they say they will do (roughly) when they said they would do so.

If you make promises that you can’t keep you better get out in front of it with an apology and some proactive butt kissing + figure out how to make the customer feel satisfied.

Very disappointing I have promoted Bethesda for many years, but if "pulling a fast one" was indeed what took place then they need to reevaluate their mission and ethos.

Ever since the release and smashing success of Skyrim, I feel Bethesda’s ego has infringed on its ability to interact with its customers in a meaningful and productive way.

The optimist in me says the entire Fallout 76 fiasco is a potential learning experience for Bethesda to learn from its mistakes and move forward. In the meantime, I think it’s best I avoid 76 like the plague and wait for any official news on Starfield.

Wouldn't it have been "Kerfuffle Averted!" if they had sent the right bags in the first place. Not sure you can declare "Kerfuffle Averted!" after the Kerfuffle...Still, good news for those who were unhappy with receiving the nylon bags. Bad news for popcorn merchants though I am sure demand will continue to grow.

Thank you Bethesda for providing the product you were advertising....wait what? Here's the real sad thing though, I bet the people who were stupid enough to get the 500 atoms wont get the bag now, so in the end Bethesda still comes out ahead since they dont have to provide as many bags.

That and some people might not bother. . others might not know.  I am guessing most people who bought it will hear about this news at least.  They should all get an email or something though.
