If they don't fix this for the free demo, they're going to lose a massive chunk of sales. They have to know that.

The ISP and different home configs I can see, but over crowding at launch is now a given and nobody should be taken by surprise at this point in the history of gaming. They were probably so busy they blew it off as a lot more things seemed more pressing.

Loading still freezes. No rubber-banding for me. Based on what they learned from this launch they should allow players to play all the javlins if only to avoid unforeseen problems at launch. Also if a player goes down the spawn points should be working, nothing worst then just sitting there doing nothing when you're downed. If your teem can't get to you, you could be sitting there doing nothing during the rest of the boss fight, that's not fun.

The only problem is in the branding. If they called this weekend and next weekend "Limited Beta" and "Open Beta" like every other online game and not "VIP Demo", there wouldn't be any reasonable expectation of playability. Other than that, this seems like a decent enough statement to me, and a sign that at least they plan on trying to be transparent with their community.

how the hell can you "under-plan server capacity" in a VIP demo where you got exact numbers for!?
or did no one tell em how much they sold / handed out?

The game itself is actually quite solid from my experience thus far.

The gunplay is satisfying. Some of the best third person gunplay we've seen in a long time, which is out of character for Bioware.

    The aesthetic customization is unparalleled.

The build customization seems pretty good so far. We'll have to see what top end gear functions like to really get a clear picture.

The open world freeplay is actually fun to explore and comes with difficulty sliders. A huge step up from the semi-linear patrol maps in Destiny.

The few boss encounters shown here seem to actually be challenging and require the player to use their mobility to dodge AoEs.

Not enough content shown to gauge the story. At the very least, there are characters with personality and some context for what you are doing in this world. That's more than can be said for vanilla Destiny.

Fix the demo issues and this may actually be a great game.

Well I’m betting most people didn’t know the demo was restricted to “vip people”. I downloaded it thinking I could play it.

"Implement fixes to address “infinite loads”. I want to be upfront that this is a difficult one, and something we may not resolve during this weekend — many players are not seeing this issue and the last thing we want to do is destabilize the experience for everyone."

Really? Everybody I've played with has had this problem at one point or another. I think it's a much larger issue then they would have us believe.

Well watching AJoe's stream, his one brother  Del seemed to have a lot less issues but yes at some point they all had issues.
To me there is way more wrong than simply saying we have issues with the coding, the game looks extremely rushed and a lazy effort.

They've worked for five years and came up with a buggy boring product where you gotta hide from NPCs because you've ran out of ammo and even trash mobs may two-shot you. It surely won't become less buggy and less boring a month later.

    Their servers are junk.

Having said that I really enjoyed the game when I could load in.

It looks great and it sounds amazing especially the weapons.

You keep mentioning running out of ammo.  Are you staying in a single spot for the duration of a fight?  I've never ran out of ammo.  Also, I've played all the content available up to this point on hard and have yet to get 2 shot by trash mobs.  There is one particularly nasty area in the freeroam map but even then you don't get 2 shot.

P.S. 2 So, When devs started making this game:

Titanfall+Mass effect= BEHOLD, ABSOLUTELY NEW AMAZING GAME! - Anthem!!! YEAH!

Sadly devs are living in basement these days (with no internet)... Little do they know that game like this already exist and its called Destiny.

Watched people play... Looks pretty much a Warframe dumbed down do Destiny levels of dumb AI.

They just sit there, making these long ass animations and eating damage... Or the monsters one shot people.

So it's either boring ass shootie shootie sponge dumb enemies or you are dead.

    Quite fun gameplay loop.

The ai only have issues when the server does that I've noticed. It can get pretty rough at times. And I haven't been one shot by anything. Nice try though.

They didn't have exact numbers? What are you talking about. People who had Origin Access / EA Access and Pre-ordered the game had VIP access sure, but they also handed out VIP codes to people who had signed up to the newsletter, handed a ton out on Twitter, and oh here is the kicker, people who had VIP access also got 3 codes to hand out to friends. Which in turn, those three people could also invite three other people each. Participants grew massively.

People constantly trying to talk like they know the situation when they don't.

So what if another game comes out that is similar to something else? Are you an idiot? Competition is healthy for businesses and that is how we get innovation. Destiny (Due to Activision) shit on their player base and killed the attention it had. BioWare decided to innovate on the idea and improve what games such as Destiny lacked.

Point being is, its perfectly fine for similar things to exist. Making assumptions such as your basement comment and claims saying a game can't exist cause X already exists makes you look like an idiot.

[mod edit] Stop hating just to hate and try to use actual common sense. They have never done a shared world looter shooter (dragon age does not fucking count. And mass effect 3 had similar issues at its launch). Let them attempt to do something they want to do and if it fails oh well. No one was hurt in this process. Stop being weird. Jesus

It looks like a couple of posters didn't catch the discussion that took place on this site back in late Jan. of this year. I get that people are passionate about their gaming, but I think everyone is able to get their point across without being condescending to each other about it. Best case scenario is to simply not feed the trolls.

I can only imagine the stress that the folks at Bioware are under right now, with any EA related stuff put under a microscope, their probably crunching hard atm.

We'll see how it goes, if they don't sort out the issues by launch well... Good riddance.

The worst part of the demo has been how poor performance is on PS4. I swear the game runs at 10-15 FPS in combat. Why should I have to buy a PS4 Pro to be able to run this game lol.

Had a lot of problems with infinite loading screens, which was very frustrating. Other than that it is very fun to play, beautiful and could keep me occupied for quite some time...provided there will be enough content.
