No a single answer for 2 months, the OP asked a question about for a Kickstarter reward $500 + and they have been ignoring the guy since March 05. Not a single asnwer.  Next thing we know , they have deleted his thread without giving any explanation. 
Way to go Port !!

I have probably mentioned it a hundred....thousand times,these are businesses,they do not care about YOU one iota.For some reason even after years of proof people still think they are doing some good and are appreciated.Seeing how these are called "pledges" makes me laugh.I wonder if Lord British feels he has delivered on his pledge,his promise?

These businesses will take your money and laugh at you for doing so.They will even come back and ask for more and tell you what you want to hear...THANK YOU,....you guys are great,this game is all because of you our supporters,might as well call these businessmen politicians,they give the same BS speeches.

I would like to think everyone might wake up one day but we have people from all walks of life,some way more naive than others,some can see the obvious when staring them in the face and some walk around with blinders on.
We need governments/law to step up and make sure these "businesses" are not trying to take advantage of naive people because they can't think for themselves.Sadly nobody really cares,the people in power enjoying their multi million dollar homes got better things to do than their job,they would rather just ignore everything and hope nobody else cares either.

All that is left is to wonder if Lord British actually feels he delivered a quality game or if he admits this is as was always expected,a half assed effort to simply make some money.Do i think people will learn from all the failures,nope because people are just way better at throwing money around than thinking.

I never had an account, what has happened to SotA is a concern to anyone who wants CF MMOs to be a success. SotA shows the problems they can get into and that there is not going to be as a huge fan following for these games as many would like to think.

Actually there was a statement made recently which goes back to what you posted.  They mentioned in a twitch this month that as they stated when they get more information as to when it will be sent out they will let us know.   Asking the same thing over and over does not change that lol.

The reason the book is not out is the publisher they were going to use for one didnt follow what they were told on how the layout was to be and 2nd they wanted alot more money then what was initially the target figure.  that said they are looking for a better option to fix the layout and to get it published for less.   That too was mentioned in the twitch.

Hehe special is right.  How many people do you know camp out side of any store for 2+ years because a product was not what they expected?  Most normal peeps would throw it out and be done with it never looking back.

I love how when something happens like this, i.e. when Portalarium tries to cover up their scams and mistakes, the white knights never seem to address it directly. Nobody here is attempting to explain away the deletion of the thread; they're too busy virtue signalling.

Nine months ago Starr shared the difficulties in getting the book published.

Does any reasonable person not think they should have a plan in place by now and be able to share what it is?

Unless of course the plan right now is....there is no plan, or maybe no plan needed as the upcoming bankrupcy reorganization will likely discharge said liability.

That is almost certainly the case--string people along until they're no longer on the hook for the book. No doubt that Portalarium has consulted with a lawyer about just what to say and what not to say, to avoid liability.

Port isnt covering up anything, they publicly stated what is going on, as well stated it again recently.  The book will come same as the rest of the stuff was completed.  As to the threads on this matter two of them are still in the forums, one was moved.   So this is pretty much a bash on nothing. 

As to White knights, you mean people that actually play the game vs those in here that don't?   Seem to me that the people that play and respond have more information then those that just bash on old news with out even spending the time to look things up and fact check

I do think they have a plan as stated they are looking for a cheaper publisher that can put the drawings as they were meant per chapter.    the team is small and they have a lot of other things right now that are a priority over a stupid book.   Ep2 is coming as well they are focused on getting a large % of existing bugs fixed as they are marketing thing up again.   


As a player I want them to get all this done before they spend any more time on that book.  The book itself is written just needs publishing.

and they will get it eventually based on what was said by Port.  that was the promise no time line was given.

This game is in such a sad state of affairs. Darkstarr doesn't seem to be able to lead the development of this game out of closing shop.

Why would you think the game is in a sad state of affairs?  Also Darkstarr is not lead he is the executive producer which means he is only in charge of securing the funding side of the project.  That is why he is the one that prices out the store, the sales and other.

Richard is the creative director in charge of pretty much the direction.

Chris and others are the ones that create the content etc

and Players are the ones that request what they would like added.

Its been this way for a while.

I mean he hasn't brought any new money in, in fact they must be bleeding money if they can't afford a studio. If Richard is in charge of the direction that makes it even worse. He doesn't have a presence at ALL. Not on the forums, not much in streams, and doesn't tweet much anymore.

Assets in the store prices are set by DarkStarr so now sure what you mean as there is new items in there every month?  There is always new money being brought in.  They showed a report from the ingame api showing new crown purchases have been increasing over the last few months.  They also showed some new account stuff which seems to be average of 100+ new accounts subbed each month as of late. 

They have been addressing a lot of the player concerns and decided to open up to spending money on unity assets rather then creating them all from scratch which will save them a lot of time / money in the long run.    I am very happy about this as it will allow them to introduce alot of new creatures in a much faster turn around time.   I know they have purchased only a few assets in the past which they heavy modify to create new art.    This was all presented this last friday stream.  It also has freed up 2 of the artists who are back to making new gear etc

As to the monthly telethon rewards they simply changed it so that subs will get 3-4 items instead which makes more sense.   1 emote, 1 pet, 1 gear and possible deco. as well teh 900 crowns 3 obsidian pots etc.  All these will now be available immediately and no longer having to wait months to get. which is awesome.

They can afford a studio they just dont have a need right now with the current dev size it was a colossal waste of funds.  They have been getting more stuff fixed and put into the game since the change.   With ep2 coming they are to be hiring new world builders as well  bringing back some of the old contracted ones.   They will be getting a new building leased when they start the hires as its required in order to direct people.   

As to Richard he was away for 3 weeks because his Dad died and he was exec. of the estate and had to deal with all that.  He was been back now for 2 weeks and on the streams again.

So not sure what you are talking about by looks even worse.   

Population according to the API is up alot, and based on the Town I am in its expanded last big patch to accommodate another 40 homes which are almost all full with new players.  Our guild has added another 15 new players this last week and we have seen with the new mail outs to all accounts many old players returning including some that bought and never played.  

For those above wanting to try it free to play so you have nothing to loose to try for yourself.  I would no take anyone's opinion and try it yourself.   Half the negative reviewers don't play the game at all, most are just jaded backers who didnt get what they wanted in the game or thought in their minds the game was going to be a single player ultima game not a UO type.  may who play now love it, but not all.  depends on what you want in a game.  All I can say is for the few here that don't play they sure hang out here for years barking at it every chance they get.

Holding people accountable is never a waste of one’s time.  Making shit up is one thing but this is clear as day.  Excusing this and trying to make the issue about people complaining is actually a far greater waste of time.

Actually it was part of a Kickstarter package with an ETA of Oct 2014.  It’s almost 5 years late.   The onus is on them to keep people informed and make it right.  Every single response should include an apology for taking our money and not delivering what they said they would.  Heck they still owe me Episodes 2 and 3 which should have come out in 2015 and 2016 per their statement when they took my money.

So yeah... let’s keep these discussions in the context that they took our money and have not done what they said they would.
