Seriously though, I wouldn't mind Jedi being in the game if their implementation didn't completely bork the evolution of this game. My hope is that the devs have taken some 'lessons learned' for SWG2.
Yeah, would like to see less Jedi or for at least a reason for them being there. All they can really do is make it harder for newer ones to come along, therefore reducing the numbers as people do move on. Other than that move the time line along and as stated, give a reason.

WoW being the most successful MMORPG at the moment. You see the same claims in EVERY game ALL THE TIME. That players are leaving a game, that a game is dying, that patches ruin a game, that customer service sücks, that bugs sück, that profession XXXX is killing the game ... and that the sky will fall soon. Only problem is... in SWG it's true. The CU ruined the game. There absolutely was a mass exodus from SWG right after the CU... and it has never recoved from that. Not only did people leave the game but those that had second accounts for Doctors and Entertainers dropped them. Anyone claiming otherwise just doesnt want to see more people leave the game and they are protecting it. Oh and... the "Sky" won't fall on SWG until Sony and Lucas Arts says it can fall. The only thing good about SWG is that they have a ton of money behind them. This game could continue running with 50 people playing it.
BigQ you obviously have something against SoE. You are posting completely idiotic statements on every board regarding an SoE game on this site.
Grow up and Wake Up. SWG's population has GROWN since the CU. Get over it already. IT HAS recovered from the 'exodus' after CU.... Matter of fact it recovered from that less than 3 weeks after the CU was done.

It's called: Anecdotal data based on the fact that everyone PLAYING this game has reported that their server is MUCH more crowded now than pre-CU. It's been 3 months since ROTW was released and servers are STILL crowded and boxes are still selling well. That means lots more people playing.
Sorry you can't see it, or won't, but it's true. And the data on MMORPGCHART showed that the CU didn't adversely affect the game last month when they posted the numbers for May and it showed a slight *increase* overall instead of a decrease. CU went in May 5.

Ditto IcoGames. I have been trying for quite a while to find actual current subscription numbers. My experiences seem to be mirroring your's. Unless it is just my server or I don't go to the right places anymore.

He's a troll at nearly every game then it seems. I always see him putting down WoW while praising lineage 2.
Only problem is... in SWG it's true. --> Thats what they all say in every game. The CU ruined the game. There absolutely was a mass exodus from SWG right after the CU. --> I would not call 5 % or so (and thats a high end guess) a "mass exodus". Especially since it has been overcompensated by new players IMHO (based on anectotal evidence from just seeing a TON of new players in the game on half a dozen servers and from checking online shop sales ... there are NO updated official subscriber numbers available at the moment to verify either your guess or mine with facts). .. and it has never recoved from that. --> Your opinion, not a fact. Not only did people leave the game but those that had second accounts for Doctors and Entertainers dropped them. --> I do not concur with that. I see evidence to the contrary in my guild and my server. I have seen my guild grow by about 40 members since the CU, about 2/3 new players and 1/3 secondary accounts. Dropping secondary accounts happened right after CU and most I know have reactivated them again.
Anyone claiming otherwise just doesnt want to see more people leave the game and they are protecting it.
--> Well .. thats one way of looking it. I can only give numbers for my server and guild and I dont see the trend you see. I state those numbers because they are true, though not necessarily universally applicable to all servers and all guilds. I dont think that is equivalent to false claims or wanting to "protect" SWG.
Oh and... the "Sky" won't fall on SWG until Sony and Lucas Arts says it can fall. The only thing good about SWG is that they have a ton of money behind them. This game could continue running with 50 people playing it.
--> This game runs exactly as long as Sony is making profit. If they dont, then SWG is dead wether 50 or 300000 people are playing it.
"It's been 3 months since ROTW was released and servers are STILL crowded and boxes are still selling well. That means lots more people playing."
I'll disagree on this one Elnator...
I reupped a couple weeks after Total Expereince came out with my copy of it, and I was playing a new char to get the feel and the newbie town was packed full and now, no more newbies are playing, you can say they spread out and arent' there but then thats an example of the game is to big for its own good. People will gather in maybe one of 10 player cities on a single planet to go hunting.
Player cities one might claim was bad for the game taking the reason to even have static cities in the game.
I can only speak for Naritus server. I have been in Mos Eisley 3 times in the last 10 days. I estimate the number of blue dots, concentrated around the typical newb trainers/mission givers/cantina/starport to have been about
50 (weekend)
30 (tuesday)
40 (friday)
I play at European times on a US server, so I assume the numbers are higher at prime time (Naritus is a west coast server if memory serves right, so prime time is at 3 a.m. local for me).
The numbers on Dantooine Mining Outpost (prime place where grinders meet) are at around 40-100 at just about any time of the day. Lag city ! I would estimate that about 2-3 times that are hunting within a 2000 radius of the starport at any given moment. Thats non prime time numbers. From the look of it about 5-10 % of the people there are Padawan or Jedi (which is about the highest percentage you will see anywhere on Naritus).
mmmm I play on Infinity and the population there is just fine .... Even when busy the lag is not so bad .... but I run a P4 3Ghz with 2GB Ram and DSL line. Only time i see lag is when there is a big PvP like 50 on each side etc ....

I havn't counted blue dots, but Bria is really busy at the moment. Mos Eisley is full of new players on a daily basis (I pass through to get to my store) and there are plenty of other hot spots for higher levels.
I play European times aswell. I also know it gets much busier later simply by my sales patterns and seeing the increase in number of online players as it gets closer to the time I need to log.

Actually if you look at the news archive on this forum, an SWG states that "We lost as many as we gained with the CU".

Take it easy friend, lol. My own recent experience would cause me disagree, so I was just curious if you had any actual data.
