The ESRB had no drama whatsoever with kids seeing and acting out the random killing of both defenceless civilians, male and female, law enforcement and military personell or any of the other charcaters you can "cap the ass" of in GTA/SA. To the ESRB being able to participate in a simulation of stomping a woman's head to a pulp on the sidewalk is the most normal and acceptable thing in the world... but seeing her titties.... well thats another story all together isnt it !!

This is to all who keep saying they will try this in america and sorry if someone has already pointed this out i didn't feel like going through all the posts to check. The american government has tryed and failed to ban numberous things that they claim cause violence and general bad behavior in children. Example they tryed and failed to ban comic books but in attempting to ban comic books the comic book world was forced into making all comics more acceptible for children ( thats why robin came around ) another example is the government trying to ban rock'n roll and having failed. And even more up to date the government looked into sponge bob square pants because they thought that had a negative affect on children. So they never really are able to ban these things but they can try and the only thing that may come from them trying is video games and MMo's may be forced to tone things down.
So in effect they have banned the version of the product or information they wanted to get rid of and left the version that the handfull of people who happen to be in power for this nano second find acceptable...

To all who dont care what happens in china, let me just say that it can and often does spread, and id like to see the look on your face when its hit us here. Dare I say it, but our government, constantly revoking american rights and sometimes contradicting the constitution (If it hasnt been warped to fit the fancy of congress yet) Is seemingly becoming what we always hated, A communism.
Now I detest politics (Just a bunch of windbags trying to get into office) but seeing recent events I am led to this conclusion. Now, the ratings on games are there for a REASON. If you know that what happens in a game is not real and you know the difference between right and wrong I see no reason for you to not play a violant game, just so long as you fully comprehend not to attempt it in real life.
Edit: And chieftan, the only reason we nuked japan is because, otherwise, the japanese (Likely warped by propaganda) would have fought fiercly and we would have taken staggering losses because of it, and we STILL cant say we didnt kill innocents in those blasts.

well i don't think this will really stop children playing mmorpg's..i do wonder what the punishment will be tough. about the atomic bomb, it was pointless. the bomb was kept as a reserve in case there was no other way. Russia was about to join the war against Japan. the japanese would Happily surendered then since there was no way they could win. yet instead of waiting for the Russians, Usa dropped the bomb anyway, wich was completely pointless and took thousand of lives. such a mistake is never to be repeated again.
