I backed Star Citizen back in 2013, and my wife at the time used to joke that I'd have to wait until 2020 to play the game. Since then I've lived a good life with that wife, gotten divorced, got a new job, lived through a global pandemic, 2021 is on the horizon, and in Star Citizen they're still working on the elevator UI.

Your life just doesn't understand projects and development. Perhaps, when you show it some charts with really big numbers and compare it to some unrelated stuff, it might understand. Perhaps your life is a hater too.

CIG is doing something so big, so amazing, so groundbreaking, that no one ever has done it before, not even the AAAA (yes you read that right) studios with their gazillion dollars and billion employees are close to achieving what they have done just last week. Its called creating a game.

But seriously, don't be a hater. It will be worth it for you and your third wife.

    /Cheers,
    Lahnmir

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.

I have not looked into this game at all, but one thing I do know is if you post anything anti star citizen you better be ready to rumble because their fans might show up at your house.

Gosh darn those tricky elevator panels!  I'm sure CIG will get the hang of them one of these days.  After that, the real development can finally begin!

Been playable since 2013 so I'd say maybe you shouldn't listen to your wife but you probably already know that by now B)

If he wants a divorce, lose all his cash and pets, he should listen to you. You obviously only live for SC.

Haha, i jested about them making a show about opening door animations after they had a show about body dragging animations..but Elevator ui, even better..
We don’t have to worry too much about the original backers knocking on our door for voicing our healthy criticism..many of them are Senior Citizens now (phun...intended)

Seriously, is this a f*cking joke? These people have more excuses for delays than any company I've ever seen. All for elevator panel UI that .01% of the people who play this game (if the gddamn thing even releases) will even look twice at.

They need to seriously re-think about their priorities if that's what causing all these supposed delays.

That is a funny story, well not laughing at you but with you.

Back during the initial days he somehow got Angry Joe to help advertise his game.if you watch the original video and see his smiles and excitement then watch later ones he carries a VERY different tune towards the game.
in his latest interview he tried hard to not come off as a douche but at the same time i could tell the SC spokesperson was very nervous talking to Joe.

I still remember the video where Chris Robert's was trying to show off something in game and he didn't even know how to turn the game on his computer ..lmao.His tech guy had to help him out. This is the guy in CHARGE of building this game and he couldn't turn the game on....sigh.

I also want to point to something because i know a lot of people THINK there is some level of transparency, especially the people trying hard to defend Chris and the game.
I wonder if you people realize Chris was selling a 27 THOUSAND dollar ship pack?I mean did you know BEFORE it became public, leaked out by people.

Not so transparent after all because Chris made sure to not cause any uproar so he kept it HIDDEN,yes HIDDEN from anyone that had not yet spent 1K on the game.

You SHOULD be asking yourself WHY,why did Chris feel this needed to be hidden from the general player, the general public?I assume he figured if you were dumb enough to spend 1k you might also be dumb enough to spend 27k.Chris also knew this was VERY wrong.

Does ANYONE with a shred of intelligence feel Chris should ever be asking for 27k selling ships? There isn't a game alive that will ever be worth 27k let alone parts of that game,at least not for another 100+ years when inflation takes hold.

How many ships are there now,200?Do you really think Chris needed to spend THAT much time making ships instead of making the game?So here you get an ELEVATOR article while the team is making more ships to sell lol.

Except SC cost 45$ and we do have more at every quarter not less.... How much did your wife cost you including divorce?

I don't even count UI panel as less as they are not cencelled and not mandatory. There is already an UI panel. Better focus on transport deck

lol. SO lets pretend the all project is about a refreshed UI panel... while they did finished the icache tech and now implementing it in game while also making server meshing test.

Lets also pretend multi $ package are sold by thousands... The vast majority of backers pledged a 45$ starter package and some micro-transactions.
New backers are joining every day, not because the project is a failure, but exactly the opposite. There are more features packed in this alpha than any released copy/paste triple-A.

I backed the game, I own a copy, I played it a little, a few hours, I don't even remember how the old panel was.

Nah he should enjoy the things in life that he enjoys like every healthy human does.

Getting salty over video-games is not much of a life but you do you. I'm sure somehow it will make things easier :D

As for "Elevators" ClickBait "news". Well it surely got the clicks, to bad it didn't actually provided discussion but the old rally of the randoms who post by impulse without reading the article or any critical thinking lol

The "Elevators Issue", that it's actually not an issue but a simple case of "The Door Problem" and how even mundane things can be very complex to implement right.

TLDR about the Roadmap: Priority: Gameplay < Art, Elevators are fine.

"Elevator ART" was moved to next quarter because artists had to make a lot of them and took more time than expected to deliver them to the Level Design team which would be the ones implementing them across the ingame universe.

Since the Level Design team is focused on improving the Trading profession with added gameplay depth (Space Stations - Containers Management) they decided to leave Elevator ART implementation for later.

Just to be clear. There is no game to own. If you donated some money, then you are allowed to play whatever they have at the time. Donating money does not guarantee you will ever get a game, or that a game will ever release.

They make that very clear on the website when you donate. Donating does not "buy" the "game".

Quoted for truth. In the time since SC started development I've increasingly qualified for retirement discounts and benefits.

AARP membership at 55, discounted movie tickets, meals and auto insurance at 60, and only two more years until I qualify for Medicare.

Full retirement in 3.5 years, it will be a race to the finish which comes first, my bet is SC will still be in development.

Got to love Joeblober speak, always comes down to how cheap buying in is.

Well if food to feed your family costs $10 dollars average daily, that's 70 a week, 280!!! a month and it's all gone, over 3k a year and you could have had star citizen for $45 and absolutly nothing tangible at all, what an amazing deal, what legendary savings you could have 3k and all SC is $45, like omg what is wrong with you people? 3k or $45 for TRIPLE-A vaporware, and yeah, lots of people work on it doing nothing but making new ships, zero focus cause you know almost a decade isn't enough for any company to get focused cause like was only 2 people back then, and now have hundreds today doing the same thing... f all.

Funny cause usually it would be the children crying the "are we there yet" song not the parents :D

Bet your kids still want a game like Star Citizen, since Firefall is not around anymore and killing boars for the 10000th time gets kinda boring B)
