Has anyone considered Microsoft's and Sony's position on this? Not saying there was any collusion here, but I imagine there has been some tut-tutting about the launch and refunds. Meanwhile old console players are given the biggest kick up the backside they could have to get a new console, just in time for Christmas. So they may be tut-tutting, but come new year they will be likely laughing all the way to the bank.
My understanding is that the approval process for the platforms essentially just ensures that the software won't damage/brick the consoles, which the game does not.

It's shitty that Sony and Microsoft aren't playing ball on the refunds, but that isn't their responsibility. They didn't fuck it up - CDPR did. And CDPR's half-assed "seek a refund" recommendation is meaningless because CDPR didn't seek agreements to secure and compensate stores and platform holders for those refunds.
I have seen articles saying this shows Sony need to update their returns policy, but I am not sure that's true, returns is a grey area and a more lenient returns policy could be exploited.

For CP 2077 though I do agree its down to CD PR to sort something out, it may take a couple of months, but if they can't do so in that time frame they do have a lot to answer for.
    I think Sony/MS are in a lose/lose/lose situation. It's either:

    1) Block the game for quality reasons. Absorb backlash from consumers who don't know how bad the most hyped game of all time is on the platform unless you coerce CDPR into showing the state of the game publicly or backing the statement.

    2) Issue refunds and set an abusable precedent. If I decide Batmobile Arkham Knight is borderline unplayable shit (it is), am I now entitled to a refund? Or you know, for a more timely example, what of TLOU2. Do people who find that game unpleasant deserve a refund?

    3) Don't issue refunds and absorb the backlash for that.
Actually, Sony has just removed CP2077 from the Playstation Store, so they are indeed blocking it (for now I guess).

That's amazing/terrible. But at this point, people are likely to view said blocking so much more favorably than they would have if Sony had done it when they should have (right from the start).

The illusion of CDPR being a different kind of developer/publisher that cares about their customers and employees has been completely shattered.  At least their stocks have taken a massive hit and deservedly so.

It's honestly too bad as I was rooting for them.

I've experienced bugs and minor performance issues (on 2 year old PC hardware). However, for my 21 hours, 29 minutes played, I've had a very enjoyable time and I don't think I'm anywhere near the end. I've found this easily 10 times a better experience and more interesting than the Witcher 3 (which I didn't get until after the expansion or whatever GOTY released so most of the bugs had been quashed). Don't get me wrong, I've seen the bugs in this game and several are a pain to reload from but I haven't had anything close to a show-stopper and I'm finding CDPR more appealing in my eyes than previously.

Just do not look at this game as a "Major time investment" or a life fix/life escape whatever mental issues people got going on for goodness sake.

Play the game and enjoy it for its content. Don't be like the schitzos we have in the world and put too much into what "it's suppose to be" and just enjoy the game and its' content. Or there's just no hope for you.
