So I have done some commenting in the other threads on this. One thing that was not mentioned in those: The game is still in Beta.

It's an optional sub... but still.. a sub for an unreleased game is kind of icky. I have no issue with the content or pricing because it's roughly what they stated in the Kickstarter but the timing... not a fan.

I agree as long as a subscription covers all the costs.  Just do not nickel and dime me.

not well done from a PR standpoint. certainly could have presented it better. anything that stinks of elitism, that I'm somehow "better" then you because I spend more?, a definite stench to that kind of thing to be avoided.

This game saddens me every time I see something posted. I tested this game for a very long time. It was a good distraction when I wanted to just waste some time in a game that had some crazy ideas, like playing as a cow.

Ever since they put the game on steam and started charging for what they are calling early access it just started going down hill. Now they are adding a sub on top of charging for EA access. Feels like they are just trying to milk it out now.

It's really sad the game had some interesting things but the devs are getting greedy now. There is no way this game will appeal to anything but a niche and most of those seem to be leaving the game like I did.

If you actually played the game you'd know that the game is in early access and has been for YEARS and one of those years almost no work was done on the game. This is a side project for them NOT a beta and the lack of concern about moderation/choosing tyrant mods(I have one in my guild)proves the only thing they are about was/is the $ coming in from sales.. Once in a while they get motivated again and do stuff but the line about "VIP money going to further development" is complete BS to anyone who has played the game for an extended period of time. EVERYTHING added to the game is done whenever they get around to it AND all those "temporary placeholders" like the character models are still there like they were 2+ years ago. Oh, some tooltip images get changes sometimes that cost $25 on the Unity asset store, sorry I forgot about that..

Did you happen to notice they made a "limited" number of founders packs available for purchase on their site again? You know those packs one of which is $500 that has features listed that are no where near being added to the game like housing... They're "limited" though for some unknown reason so you better hurry and buy them before they're all gone!!!

It really seems like with the wipe of vendor reputation coming at release and the p2w-lite aspects of VIP + selling of "limited" number of founder packs again they chose to completely discard current/veteran players and attract a more modern whaley customer base. A group of fresh faces with open wallets that don't know the game is just Unity assets and think it's the same exact kind of game as ESO or WoW. Call that crazy but some comments in the other thread prove that some people don't know the difference so why not try to cash in on their lack of knowing? right? If they're tired of working on their game and hate their players cause their aren't more of them then going full greed mode is an acceptable path to take in 2021?

Are you joking or are you really serious? The game already costs $40. Isn't that enough to pay to play some ugly jankfest that runs with 15 FPS on both lowest and highest graphical settings on the same PC that can run Death Stranding maxed out with 60+ FPS. I've played more high quality brand new games with better graphics and more gameplay systems and mechanics for thrice as less money.


I've tried the demo many times, first I tested the game in 2015 and now in 2021, 6 years later, it has barely changed. Optimization is garbage on a PC that can run Death Stranding maxed out. Graphics look ugly and not even that high detail to warrant the poor performance, it's just sloppily put together that's why the optimization is so bad, because there isn't any to begin with.

Characters are stuck in some annoying pose like they're on a catwalk and gear look like they're wearing pajamas or spandex or yoga pants or whatever... gear has no volume - it's just a texture, most of the time in very poor tasted electric colors. Leather chest armor that is magenta colored... yeah right.



The game is not worth even $40 to begin with, even if it was F2P and they paid players to play it, it would still be too expensive for what it offers.

The woman on the 2-person team who writes the quests is not doing a good job - I made the mistake to read some quest text - the NPC was throwing the F bomb left and right, like that would make his dialogue more impacting on me as a player... it just comes across as some pre-teen who just learned the word and is trying to use it as much as grammatically possible. I can write more compelling quests and I can barely put together my CV.

With this new addition to the monetization, I will say this is a huge red flag and stay away. I heard from somewhere that the two developers have some health issues and are using the game to pay their medical bills or whatever, giving something to make their player base happy is secondary to them. Also people who played the game for like 400-800 hours made reviews (about a year ago, so they weren't affected by this) saying how much the character builds were destroyed and many fun builds were made completely non-viable just so some meta of a handful of boring builds can be pushed instead making the game more cookie-cutter and less old school in the process.

I am sitting on the fence on this one, but I do think the site should give some indication as to what they think about what players are getting for their money. Just drawing out the fact it is not yet released while mentioning its a small team that clearly feel they need to be making something to keep at it would have been enough. Not expecting a detailed analysis comparing this to VIP status in other games, but just some context.

This is what is wrong with MMORPGs these days. The REAL MMORPGs back in the day only had a small percentage of players on a server who were masters at their craft, which made it a accomplishment for those who actually endured all it took to master their crafting. You were known by name to all and made tons of money. It was a virtual community where you had a few go-to players of each craft, and what they made was actually relevant to the game start to finish.

Fast forward to today and everyone can do everything and to top it off you can progress through a cash shop. Ridiculous.

Could not agree more people need to chill out unless it lets you do more dps then someone who doesn't pay irl cash I don't see the issue,

They could instant max levels but it hardly means anything in project gorgon if you don't have the skill to use whatever combats skills you choose to the maximum efficiency your just useless in groups dungeons and boss raids

On a side note them doing this put them in mixed reviews which kinda makes my cynical side happy so I approve this move let it burn 

At least we have people like you to advocate for a return to what MMORPGs were all about.....

What you see as a positive I viewed as a negative disliking being hostage to player crafters, I shop at Walmart not the local craft fair.

Crafting is a mechanic I can completely do without as I totally don't get the appeal but apparently some folks enjoy which is fine as long as I'm not feeling pressured to do it myself as was the case in many early games like L2 or DAOC.
