So many posts about Slapshot... probably more than the topic.  I’m honored.  Truly.  Just don’t start charging me rent.  But I really don’t have a strong opinion on the animations.  I think they are Ok.  Don’t love the signals for certain attacks but so guess that’s like.

Its not unique to Crowfall though .  I think Ashes has great looking graphics but all the flashes in combat is very off-putting.  Hard nut to crack in battles with lots of spells and actions.

Some people were projecting this game to have over 400k people playing it, just by the backers alone.
This may have happened, but not in this form.

At best there was some projections made regarding the 400+K total crows/account, but even with those numbers, I don't think anyone here was expecting anywhere near a 100% turnout.

Last I looked, the more realistic numbers people were using was around 45K, before launch, and given it's holding with solid 3K continuous and sometimes near to 4K spikes, means it has probably has around 30 - 50K actual active players.

So far, Crowfall has launched, with a huge win for Kickstarter MMO's, and I for one am happy with this event, regardless if the game shuts down in a year, this has been a smashing success for Crowed Funded MMO's in general.

Hopefully, we will see many more of them launch in the coming years.

Well, I read about the Devs saying many years ago they "only" needed 50k subs to be sustainable.  This was before they took the loans.  So have they figured out a way to stay sustainable with less subs?  I don't know.  But it sure is questionable.

I doubt they were talking prepaid subs.

I will concede, that after review a lot of the 30mil might be hinged towards technology licensing, it might not be part of the game funding.  So possibly they can get by on the Dev's original 50k subs numbers.

Thanks for your replies, I don't pick out individuals when I ask for posters to stay calm, they can view that as something of a challenge. We can have personal differences on here, but it is down to us to keep that in check.

My aim is to make sure no one gets a temporary ban or the thread is closed down. You all seem to be having far too good a time jostling each other on the thread for it to end. :)

Are you sure you understand how forum PVP is supposed to work?  ;)

Its because the numbers are embarrassing.  They want to put their heads in the sand and think of happy thoughts.

They cant handle that someone who likes the game can also have a realistic view and doesn't have to deny the reality.

They want people to tow the line, maybe they think if they keep ridiculing anyone showing something negative to their opinion that they will stop posting.

If 100 people were logged into the game... if people didn't have anyone to fight or things to do then you would be right but that isn't what's happening with CF...

Certain people here claiming the game is a failure are the same people who defend crowdfunded early access UNITY asset MMO's with subs and UNITY scam tech/game demo MMO's with no launch date in sight... I capped UNITY because CF is also a Unity MMO.. One of those other MMO's cost the same box price of $40 as CF and has a sub($15) for the same price... it also has 100 players total... https://steamcharts.com/app/342940

Below you can understand why those same people in their OWN words are attacking the game and it's sad that you of all people is falling for their manipulation campaign...

Scorchien wrote that he DID NOT invest in the game. He has ALSO said that he was retired at 53 because he made good investments.. something he won't let any of us here forget... Do you know any investors? I do... nothing eats away at them more than to lose out on a GOOD investment... If CF succeeds and is bought out then that potential loss will eat away at him for the rest of his life... He has every reason to try and keep people away from the game because if it succeeds that means he was WRONG.

Slap HIMSELF admitted that he was THE ONLY one of his friends enjoying the game. In other threads he refers to those same people as "The Guys" meaning those are the people he usually plays games with... If none of your gaming crew wants to play the game then what? do the math on that for me...

"They cant handle that someone who likes the game can also have a realistic view and doesn't have to deny the reality."

I agree with your statement so why am I supposed to believe a few people with obvious agendas + their followers vs MY OWN EYES. I log into the game I see tons of people... I go into PVP zones and get zerged like a noob... I visit Eternal Kingdoms and see the equivalent of hundreds of dollars spent on parcels + buildings...

"Denying reality" would be saying the game is a failure ESPECIALLY a $20 million to make crowdfunded pvp MMO in 2021 if it didn't have any people to play/fight with... factor in TBC + all the other game launches + Steam sale and IMO CF is a success.

IF they are not making as much money as they'd like here are a few FREE simple ideas/solutions just after thinking about it for 2 minutes...

    1. Add exclusive items to the 1 year sub in 2 months when the majority of the playerbase VIP runs out. That's 2 months to create exclusive cosmetic items for systems that are already built/in place. A building, aparcel, a couple mounts, maybe some cosmetics.. you have a little under 2 months chop chop..

    2. Add more limited time cosmetic deals to their store but make it for flat $ amount like Albion not cro that requires buying made up currency just to buy other made up stuff lol.

    3. Make a PVE Only world for PVE only players where items cannot be transferred to PVP worlds. PVE items cannot be sold in current vendor EK BUT make a special vendor that can only be created with PVE world items that sells ONLY PVE world items.

LMFAO .. let me help you with something

I dont need to invest in anything anymore.. Now its just a fun hobby that i play with house money ..

My 10 year old son has a 7 digit Trust Fund ..

So yea all your foolish speculation you like to regurgitate , on near any topic is off base and wrong again , but the community is becoming accustomed to it ..

Now the entire reason i got into investing in games is because i love them , and i would love to see Crowfall succeed it has some good features ..

The reason i invest in many indie devs is because i  Love games ....

And i promise you , you have in your collection games from Devs/Pubs im invested in ..

Thank you for your contribution ..

      Have a nice day

Imo, it just lacks impact. Something about the animations makes them feel like they lack weight. I read an interesting comment on Reddit from like last year that had suggestions that made sense to me:
