Believe it or not there are people who don't exploit. I would argue a vast majority don't exploit. The issue is that those who do exploit (usually in the power guilds), grow in even more power and dominate the games core game loop. I have 400 hours in the game and I didn't take advantage of any exploits it just isn't how I roll. When hatchets were chopping people up for 3k a swing, I stopped using the hatchet till it was fixed.

So, there are a ton of us who don't have max gold and just play the game to have fun. We are the majority, but unfortunately Amazon doesn't ban the exploiters perm and that is what is hurting the game.

Yeah I only have around 10k gold earned the honest way. It is weird because I play casually and I have very little issue with the game. I feel bad for those effected by whatever is going on with them and their experience but for me it is a fun experience. In game running around doing my thing I am not seeing any real issues that effect my play. 

We probably have the same play style, explaining why I also have little problems and most bugs don't affect me at all.

This said, the regular shutting down of the trading is starting to seriously annoy me. I feel punished has an honest player... and they are so SLOW to restart the thing !

The comparison works because they dropped a steak in FO 76, Valheim, Anthem etc and players grabbed that steak of the floor to play a game that was EA or was really EA when it "launched". Then NW comes along and players do it all over again. Studios now know we will accept our steak raw and hope that it gets cooked down the line before we eat it.

Ok now I need to have my dinner...Mmmm.

Well, I think that for the entry prize, my steak was well worth it, even if the game shuts down today



As I said, there's no subscription. The only money I spent was the purchase of the game. I got more hours already of of this than out of many single player games costing as much if not more.

Problem is... no pressure on the developer either. I can't simply cancel subscription, like I did in WoW, to show my disagreement.

Is this the third gold exploit now? I don't think I've seen a game have this many gold dupe exploits ever.

Well if you want to get technical, this one wasn't a gold exploit, it was an item dupe exploit that flooded the market with high quality housing trophies.

Way too many dupes and exploits in the game's first 6 weeks but this one was more unique if that matters at this point.

People keep focusing on the individual trees and missing the forest: It's a competitive game where the competition matters and affects significantly everyone's game play.

It's not like most other MMOs where wat happens in PvP is just for the PvPers with little to not impact in the PvErs game loop. Here it does matter and it matters quite a bit for housing, crafting, trading post and other taxes, travel costs, etc.

It's the lack of integrity in the game play that results in faction control swaps due to all the exploits that is the real problem here. A whole shit ton of exploits were used in wars that determined the outcome and faction ownership and they're still happening.

The latest, that gets almost no publicity since the gold and item dupes are sexier news, is the food buff exploit.

The way it works is that you can stack 5 different types of food buffs, harvesting, mining, etc. and each one of those gives the full health recovery so instead of having a 2% HP recovery per second you have 10%. Someone with 10K health and that exploit is getting auto-healed for 1K per sec for the full 20 minute duration of the 5 foods. That's more than the best heals in the game can give you. Fun eh?

No no no Jean .. Not playing there POS game is the leverage and over 70% of the community has made that choice ..

 If you dont think that effects AGS .. you would be wrong ..

I see comments on threads (especially NW official forums)... "hey you played for 300+hrs... stop complaining... worth $40"  Logic is flawed:

1) Online MMORPGS are a grind... NW especially... and you're gated out of content till level 60. A lot of that time was spent "pushing through" tedium... not exciting gameplay.

2) Those hours were invested to be part of an ongoing thriving game... not a dead one after several months.  Wasted time if the studio is incompetent.

3)By the logic of cost per hour gaming metric... Any F2P game should never get criticism by the players... ever again.

4) Opportunity cost of time... could have invested that time into better MMORPGS  or other games

Bank says I could do a 13.1 Chargeback. I've wasted more money on things I've played less before so it's a **** move anyone that wants to go down that path even though they deserve it. I got 150 hours in and probably 75 of those are actual in game and the first 20 were enjoyable so not a complete waste of money. But I wouldn't recommend playing it now. Those that are, hope you're enjoying it.

Yep..me and my wife love this game. I have about the same amount of hours in as you. Still lovin it. AGS will get over this hump. Nothing is ever smooth at first with any game. Looking forward to the compensation we will get for being patient with the devs working overtime on these things, and for the people that decided to take advantage of the dupes and exploits...well...so long!

This reminds me of that Charlie Brown Halloween Episode when Linus is out there waiting for the great pumpkin.

You think you're clever but seriously....how long has the game come out? Your analogy would be better suited for a Star Citizen release. Amazon has the resources and they have shown commitment, why anyone would think they won't fix this game is baffling to me. All I can think is haters and trolls who want to see it fail....another thing I don't get. People are enjoying it, if that bothers you then guess who is being trolled?

I didn't start out hating this game.  I actually liked the game early on and wanted it to succeed.  Although I wasn't a clueless blind fanboy either.  When people who reached max level before me all said the game was trash I started reserving judgement until I had more experience. I wasn't so naïve to completely discount what they were saying.

You have some people who made it out of the starter zone and still like the game trying to pretend the entire game is amazing and everyone legitimately criticizing the game are just troll haters.

Anyone with just a tiny fraction of common sense would know this game has serious problems that wont be fixed anytime soon.

If someone is so in denial after all that has happened so far, still believes the devs are going to be able to fix all these major problems in the near future,  Yeah what can I say, not much hope for the bottom 10% of the common sense gene pool.  Ignorance is bliss I suppose, good for them maybe?

Each person is different. To me, a game from which I've got 300+ hours of fun was definitely worth the $40 entry price.

I've only played SW:TOR for 6 months, but I don't regret the purchase of the collector edition, that were 6 months of fun doing various story lines. And I had less time back then to play, the total hours must be under 500.

And I'm personally not done with NW yet. I'm barely affected by the bugs, since I'm playing honestly and casually, and believe it or not I'm still having fun. So yes, to ME, the money invested in that game was worth it, for my experience so far despite the problems has been positive. And I'm not the only one.

Does it mean I forgive everything ? Definitely not. To start with those random shut down of all trading because of some cheaters. A company like Blizzard or Bethesda would have handled this differently, they actually have in the past. Punishing the honest players because of cheaters can only make players be pissed and leave, and I can't blame them for that.

About point 4, I have no desire to play "better" MMORPGs or other games.

All your points come from YOUR perspective, not realizing each person has a different approach to games. Your point 1) already shows that. Your view of a MMORPG is to sprint to the supposed "end game", ignoring all the rest of the content considered as "tedium" and rushing through it as fast as possible. Not me. Maybe it's you who chose the wrong genre by the way, if you consider one of the major part of a MMORPG, leveling, as tedium. An instant gratification shooter would be more appropriate.

I've Never cheated at any game , heck I've never entered in a console cheat code in any game. 

That being said , there are a couple players in my circle of Discord networks , that are laughing there fucking asses off at AGS and NW  they said that they and others have dozens and dozens of dupes and exploits lined up .  Just waiting to drop them . 

Now I certainly frown on this behavior and have said so .. But to these people , this IS there game,  there fun .. And how they approach any game .. NW for them has been a particularly easy and fun playmate in this regard and will continue to provide the entertainment that it gives them until AGS can figure it out ,( which these people do not think they can) Or they move to there next challenge..

The strange irony of it is , and in a way truth , they feel they are doing the community of NW a favor by exposing AGS ..And they actually are the best trouble shooters that AGS has at there disposal.. very obviously...

1) That guy has a very unhealthy obsession with me. Beside the fact he's calling me some other name, he's stalking every single post I make.

2) He just plainly admitted that he supports cheaters. That little disclaimer from him is a joke when you consider the rest of his message. He even pretended that those people, going from game to game and searching for exploits to ruin those games, are doing a SERVICE to the other players. Yeah, by ruining games. Great service.

I let you just realize the sick mentality of that person, if you had not already. Obsessive stalker and supporter of cheaters. Amazing member of a gaming community, really.

That was the assumption I made I don't need to prove anything, if it is just Discord networks and not the same guild then it is beyond your control. However depending on why I was connecting to those groups I would consider leaving them. I have never been in this situation, I am just thinking what would I do?

Guys you really do need to keep calm and carry on posting, we can take forum PvP too far.

I've Never cheated at any game , heck I've never entered in a console cheat code in any game. 

That being said , there are a couple players in my circle of Discord networks , that are laughing there fucking asses off at AGS and NW  they said that they and others have dozens and dozens of dupes and exploits lined up .  Just waiting to drop them . 

Now I certainly frown on this behavior and have said so .. But to these people , this IS there game,  there fun .. And how they approach any game .. NW for them has been a particularly easy and fun playmate in this regard and will continue to provide the entertainment that it gives them until AGS can figure it out ,( which these people do not think they can) Or they move to there next challenge..

The strange irony of it is , and in a way truth , they feel they are doing the community of NW a favor by exposing AGS ..And they actually are the best trouble shooters that AGS has at there disposal.. very obviously...

I could not stay in a guild that has avowed cheaters, they could communicate with AGS without informing the world of the cheats. I do realise that not everyone would deal with this in the same way but I see it unlikely they could be persuaded otherwise, so if I could not boot them I would go.

Where did anyone say they were in a guild with these people.. pleae point that out...

That was the assumption I made I don't need to prove anything, if it is just Discord networks and not the same guild then it is beyond your control. However depending on why I was connecting to those groups I would consider leaving them. I have never been in this situation, I am just thinking what would I do?

Guys you really do need to keep calm and carry on posting, we can take forum PvP too far.

Try to understand what you read before assuming,  it was quite clear ..

Believe it or not there are people who don't exploit. I would argue a vast majority don't exploit. The issue is that those who do exploit (usually in the power guilds), grow in even more power and dominate the games core game loop. I have 400 hours in the game and I didn't take advantage of any exploits it just isn't how I roll. When hatchets were chopping people up for 3k a swing, I stopped using the hatchet till it was fixed.

So, there are a ton of us who don't have max gold and just play the game to have fun. We are the majority, but unfortunately Amazon doesn't ban the exploiters perm and that is what is hurting the game.

player guilds have become a liability in mmo's.

To me one joins Discords only when they are part of "the team", I am unaware of any general purpose Discords which function say as a Reddit sub does.

So I would have made a similar assumption, if on someone's Discord you are a "member" of some sort, be it a guild, clan, hacking gang or what have you.

Let's say you were on a hacking Discord, then you are a hacker in my book.

I keep things clear and simple, gray isn't a color I often use when painting someone.

I'm part of those too, and none of them, at least on my side and for my server, is promoting/advertising cheating.
You have to be a VERY special kind of gamer to be part of those cheating chats.
