I'm going to need some context, That doesn't look like an official ZOS stream and on the ESO forums someone said that's Rich Lambert's wife and her not ESO related stream?

Also... Rich's reaction belongs in the watchpeopledieinside subreddit lol. He didn't look pleased.
yah, that, LOL.. yah that was a total Dying inside look.. which, no joke, was about the most painfully hilarious thing I have seen today.

It betrays a contempt for the folks ultimately paying the bills (the customers), which is never a good look.

Here she is in another stream telling players to go pvp in another game if they can't handle the lag, good lord:

Well, I don't disagree with what she's saying because one has to listen to what she's saying. First off she says she doesn't work on the game. So is she really a dev? I don't really know who she is.

But she's right. If someone is complaining that they don't have any more pvp to do and they've done it all then what is the option?

It's like when I was young and I told my mother I was bored. She told me to find something to do or she's give me something to do. Again, "I'm bored ... "

What followed was the most grueling Saturday I ever experienced with more work than I've ever done in my entire life.

    I was never bored again.

But you know, that's me, I don't have tolerance for whining. If I find there's nothing to do in a game I'd just stop playing it. I wouldn't give it much more energy than that. I'd still have my opinions of the good and bad but I just can't sign on to giving energy to being angry.

I've been doing some PVP in Cyrodil recently and I really can't say I've experienced much lag or died due to "lag", but I sure have been WTFStomped in a half a dozen other ways from near unkillable PVP "godz" to running into a keep yard with over 50 players who waited silently inside the walls putting up no defense at all prior to then... Clever that ....

Thing about fighting in or with lag is generally every player is affected by it, so those who adapt the best will still prevail, even if fighting through molasses.

My many years of playing EVE mean I rarely see using lag as a good excuse for losing...

LOL, she's not wrong though.  PVErs complain too but PVPers are always complaining and it's not exclusive to ESO.
Regardless of whether she is wrong or not, it was unprofessional and stupid.

She made a comical remark about how often she sees or hears complaints, while also saying hey they are fixing it for you hold on and people are offended.. I just don't get it.

Not serious. Just stupid and unprofessional. I don't go telling my customers that what they ask for or say is stupid, even when I think so. Simple as that really. That's how it's always been.

Plus someone pointed out she is not an employee. The guy next to her is, and I would be embarrassed in his place.

Now if you want to turn this into a grand statement of the times and pick a fight over it by calling me soft, I say to you:

We would fire someone who called our customers crybabies or trolled them like a self-indulgent child.

It's kinda funny when gamers simp for people and companies like this while simultaneously be outraged by some other game or studio. We're a freaky lot.

News flash! SHE DOESN'T WORK THERE!! Sure she's married to one of the guys that head the game but that doesn't mean she in any way loses her right to state her own opinions. What it looks like to me, though its hard to tell because of course the video uploader only included the one part of the conversation that suits his narrative, is that they were discussing an entirely different subject, and this one player decided to troll them about lag in PVP. And Terri Lambert promptly and correctly, shut his little butt down. Was it done in the most tactful manner? Nope. Am I personally offended? Also nope. We video game players can at times be some of the most unbearable and petty critics imaginable. It was refreshing to see someone on the other side take a crack back rather than just sitting there and politely taking the abuse. To those of you who are upset to the point of trying to make this your little hill to die on, might I suggest a couple of sizes up in undergarments, and possibly a switch to decaf.

I read most of the (now culled for rudeness) 10+ page thread in the ESO official forums and it was pretty funny watching the PvE / PvP divide in the comments with anti-PvPers talking about things like teabagging in Cyrodiil being much worse than what Terri said.

Most of those apparently non-rude comments are still there and didn't need culling but one particular comment that was just:

Inb4 ZOS says "But we don't really feel like that. We listen to you and we love you... no, really, we do!"

... was removed from the thread.

    Also...

ZOS devs and their spouses (probably also children) are just human beings who deserve our understanding when they're not at their best. Amazon game studio employees are lying amateur abominations who deserve none.... amiright?

Good point, is it unprofessional to state the truth?

    For some I guess so.

When the truth about some of your customers is unflattering it is generally unprofessional to publicly point that out to them.

People have been complaining about ESO PvP lag for the entire life of the game. I remember when they removed the NPC deer from Cyrodil in an attempt to speed it up. The EU lag thread got to 100 pages I think, before I stopped reading it.

Nothing like getting attacked, and hitting the swap weapon button, but it doesn't work.

For me, it was erratic. I had a lot of fun in the below-50 no-CP battles. Most of the time it was fine, but not always. People who live for PvP can't stand that.

we can but until 95% of the playerbase boycotts their products instantly every time comments are made like this they know they can treat us like garbage to a certain degree, this is just another case of them flexing what they know they can get away with

Apparently not enough speaking wallets are saying what you want them to, suggesting the owners of them don't really care enough about the state of PvP for it to be a deal breaker for them.

Sure, it's dumb to insult your customers, at least where they can hear you say so.  It's also dumb for customers to make a big fuss about having been insulted by the wife of someone you had never previously heard of.  The whole thing is a tempest in a teapot.

    It is and it isn't.

That the spouse of one of the top execs feels comfortable enough to poke fun at players complaining about the game's performance in the one PvP zone, in her hubbie's live stream, you know that she got that level of comfort while talking to her husband and other developers privately and she's reflecting the casual contempt they feel for at least that portion of their player base.

Like I said above, I don't find their casual contempt surprising in the least. It's actually what I expect is the attitude of most developers toward their players. For live service games especially, it's very much an "us v. them" bunker mentality mindset. The fact that the rubes also spend large amounts of money idiotically in their cash shop I'm sure also contributes to the low opinion of their players.

Only the most naive players believe their PR, which is exactly the opposite of this, when they express love for their players and always try to emphasize how much they listen to them.

It is a tempest in a teapot but also a rare unfiltered glimpse of how they really feel about their players.

I think many label criticism as complaint, and they're not the same thing.

Her statement deserves criticism, even if Cyrodiil lag isn't worth the complaint.  Because, to be frank: having to endure whiny forum posts from customers isn't a hard job.  Her job isn't being made miserable by complaining gamers.

Come back to me when you're dealing with drug addicts every day as part of your job, lady.   Or abused children.  Until then, stop complaining about your customers and/or clients.

    Out of curiosity, what field?

In gaming it is not unheard of, aside from this incident. EVE's CCP is notorious for trolling its players in public fora, sometimes to the extreme.

For my field (simulations/engineering software) it is 1000% out of the question.
i design and build props and unique things. So electronics, electro/mechanical, woodworking  etc. All my clients have a good sense of humor so i wouldn't equate them to rando forum whiners. lol.

You know I actually don't agree. What looks to have happened is a disgruntled player attempted to hijack their live feed discussion that had not one thing to do with PVP and the lag issues therein, and was simply being a trolling little dickweed. Terri simply treated him accordingly.
