May be they sold that amount but a lot just refunded.

Yes, reviews are going downhill mainly because people cannot play the core game.

I personally witnessed, on a stream, 4 people afk for over 6 hours in the non-tutorial world... in a major city bank...(and the streamer was very pissed about it... and contacted GMs...but nothing happened... it's 1 server - are GMs overburdened?).

Once people are logged into the main world, they are afraid to leave so they go afk (because they may get endless queues and/or crashes).

Maybe it's fixed now, but another MMORPG has officially failed a launch.  News at 11.

    100k supposedly sold...
Yet only like 9k peak at best.

What are the 91k other players doing ?

    Sounds like bullshit to me...
My calculations based on that math tell me New World must have sold 10,000,000 copies since they had peak concurrency of close to 1 million. :)

They should have disabled the main world altogether until everyone could get in. Not that I know the game that well, but I assume the few getting out of the tutorial island will have a major advantage.

I bought a copy, and have no issues at all playing the game.
Tho I am still having fun in Maven the starting area, normally I am not a fan of PvP full loot sandbox games.
But hey the theme park mmorp's are getting a bit boring and I am open for something new.

start MO2, disable the ingame music. Start youtube with some viking aggressive war music playlist and game on!
Except that ...you haven't started playing the real game yet, better wait until you finally get in the world before pronouncing how much you enjoy it.
Its Kyleran again, like always bashing my comments with utterly nonsense.

As I said, currently enjoying the PvE starting area and will wait to get out to the bigger PvP area until I feel I am ready for it.

If you weren't in the beta... then @Kyleran is quite right.
You staying so long in the "no PvP" starter area is quite a clue too.

The real test will be when some guy will strip you dry and naked for the first time.

    They have already off themselves.
