I'll add another detail that I haven't seen mentioned at all.
Unlike in previous Diablo games each character (and you can have 5 per server, which is itself kind of weird with 6 classes and no cash shop item to increase that number that I have noticed. Maybe coming later?) is separate and they share nothing.
There's no shared stash nor shared currencies and no advantage whatsoever to having alts other than just to satisfy your curiosity about how they play.
Almost everything, in game rewards, battle pass advancement, etc. is available individually for each character... and this includes the rather pricey cash shop skins that are in the $35 range or so. Those skins you buy are for one character only, not for your account.
It's like they looked at all the possible ways of maximizing profits with zero shits given about being called greedy or predatory and decided to incorporate every single one of them into one game.
I've also read there's far less to set each class apart from one another than in previous games.
It's expected to be watered down in some areas for mobile, though. Nature of the beast.
This is insane. The same people yelling "NFTs SUCK!" are the same ones speading in this scam ass cash shop.
All cash shops are scams of the highest order.
Weird. I thought that people complaining about NFT would be mostly the same as the ones complaining about cash shop.
Moreover, there is cash shop and cash shop. I had absolutely no problems with the cash shops of Smite, Mechwarrior Online, Minion Masters, PSO2:NGS, and some others.
I've also read there's far less to set each class apart from one another than in previous games.
Actually I don't agree with that. They do play very differently and currently the Necro and Crusader seem to be much better than the others for solo play.
I've played all except Barbarian (never been a fan of "spin to win") and doing the same content the Crusader and Necro just have an easier time of it with solo dungeons, rifts, etc. Monk, DH and Wizard just feel a bit too squishy at least in the lower levels.
I think they've captured the essence of D3 quite well with the skills and the mods (from legendary gear and gems.) D3 is the Diablo game it most closely resembles.

So 110k before the power creep than what? This is disgusting, sadly there is some dumb people who will pay because its diablo. I really wish people would stop spending on these games or they would be outright banned.
Idiots still supporting anything that has Bobby Kodnick on it are pathetic, not a game this company could ever put out that I would buy I refuse to support criminals but hey idiots put blow biden in office too.

This is the biggest issue with the game for me.
I'm apathetic towards the cash shop. The game itself has been fine, I've had fun and haven't found any arbitrary walls keeping me from progressing at an acceptable rate.
Blizzard has already stated that soon you will be able to swap classes on your character and not lose all progress and gear, read more about it here:
You will probably have to pay for it and its still a bit light on the details of what exactly will be preserved when you do such a transfer, at least it isn’t all 100% horrible
The thing I am curious about is how much effort one has to put in to actually reach the end of the Battlepass within the month or so it runs. I am sure you will need to be playing like mad to reach the cosmetics at rank 40.

Not surprised at all & not touching this game neither. I hear it's somewhat fun till around level 30 then the steep paywalls begin creeping in evermore. No thank you.
If someone does spend $110k to max out a character, then Blizzard will just have to add more ways to power up the character so that the super-whale isn't still maxed out and needs to spend more money. How many months do you think it will take before they make changes like that?
forget about the cash shop stuff, im confused as to why people are trying to say this game is a good game. its not, like, the complaints aren't only about the cash shop, even with the cash shop removed, its crap. there's no complaint when addressed will suddenly make this okay.
Some have said it has good combat and depth, can you expand on why you think that's the case? Already decided I won't be playing it but it is good to hear what players think.

It's so unabashedly greedy like they just stopped pretending all together and went full speed ahead.
You know how hard they will come down on the bots isn't it and all their previous paltry lame excuses about botting and the difficulty of cracking down on them will all be bald faced lies. They will crack them so hard it will be quite cathartic.
$110k? That's pocket change to all the spoiled rich brats. Guess that's a thing now. Kids born to wealth gets to buy everything in life, and now... in games too.

If you can ask for 100K P2W and get away with it why wouldn't you ask for 500K P2W? That's where we are now, "gaming ethos" is a dodo Blizzard shot and mounted on their office wall.

It's fun.
I refuse to pay anything in it. So far I've spent zero, and I plan to continue to not pay anything.
