    I fixed the first sentence.

In terms of crowdfunding, Star Citizen recently passed the 11th year of development. They have no urgency or care to deliver a finish product. Please keep giving us money in leu of a finished product.

"Space Whale" plushies? Wow, that's... kinda calling out your own backers isn't it?

"Honey, what happened to all the money in Jr's college savings?"

    Haha
“Star whale plushies” is the nicest insult I’ve seen from a gaming company towards their “whale” base.

It will surprise no one that the irony is lost on the very backers the plushie references.

I wonder if this game will come out before Nick Cannon has his 20th kid (He's already on number 10).

The space whale was one of the chosen wildlife that is going into the game with its own gameplay. It lives in the gases of crusader, a gas giant in the game. It was chosen by the community.

I know its hard to believe but people can afford both and will. Might be hard to do while flipping burgers so might wanna secure a decent job before you start spending on games.

Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.

You see this in government, if the project keeps getting funded with no launch set in stone, why launch? Once launched, money for such projects can becomes an issue so keep the trials going while you can.

hmmm I imagine at worst it's a bit tone deaf and at best probably amusing to some backers, especially if they've given a lot of money.

see I don't get that thinking When they launch it would make more money as you will get more players. Then add a sub giving cosmetic items like they do and they will eaisly make more then 95 a mil like they are now. I mean as impressive as 500 milllion over 10 years sounds it is nothing compared to WoW making 100 mill a month and over 1 billion a year.

What dont you get? If a product is launched then players have expectations of quality and they cant hide behind "its a alpha" anymore where people are literally just paying for hope. Post Launch they will have to stand by their product and have rigorous processes in place for such things as refunds.

Its 8 years past its launch date and they keep adding more feature creep to push launch into the never never because as of right now Roberts and his family are making bank, Blizzard has to split all its cash with its investors.

This will never be launched, every year that passes more stuff is added and the infrastructure ages which then needs replacing which postpones the launch further. The only thing which would force a launch is if stupid people stopped throwing money at them for ships in a game which has no launch cycle but that doesnt seem likely.

    Nothing but Vaporware.

Should go research that word "Vaporware" because you can buy and play this software even if it is buggy. Even released games this day and age get day 1 patches and bug fixes after "release"

I cannot play one single minute of Squadron 42 which is why I backed the project man many years ago
What you can play is just a tiny snippet of what the game is supposed to be.

That said, they let people try what is in game for free, so anyone who gives them money now, at least knows what exists and doesn't exist.

I remember the good old days when we celebrated the $15M Milestone and getting Original and Veteran Backer rewards... back in 2013.

    Seemed cool then.

Not so cool to still be getting them 9 years later with no Squadron 42 nor anything other than an Alpha of SC.

When CIG releases two 6 or 7 out of 10 games after having spent about a billion dollars over two decades, we all know you'll just start a new account out of shame.

I dunno.  At this point I'd sign up right now for a 7/10 Squadron 42!  All this time and I've gotten nothing.  I genuinely fear that I will never play the game.

7 out of 10 is respectable....  Unless it took you 15 years, almost half a billion development dollars taken directly from gamers, and a lot of lying about what's possible for X amount of money in Y amount of time to do it.
