Right now the majority of WoW PvP is based off of exploiting. It is true read up on it. So i can't really consider WoW as a canidate for a PvP game until that is fixed.....but it has been months....i don't have much hope of Blizz fixing the exploits until they lose customers to a new game.

Anyways... I guess I would have to say... I guess a toss-up between old school UO, and Lineage 2...
UO for the 1v1 and small scale battles, then Lineage 2 for the huge castle sieges and such... Nothing can come close to a huge castle siege~
hi logan, ive played Nexus: the kingdom of wind, Lineage2 (up to lvl.56 Silver Ranger), SWG (Mastered 16 professions) before stuck on WoW.. and i played some betas such as, CoH, EQ2, MxO, etc...
i also believed that warrior is overpowered class in WoW, they can outdamage mage and rogue and has aoe fear (great CC) and they wear freakin heavy armor..
are you still playing DAOC logan? i wanna try that game sometime.. maybe you can tutor me :P
Cant believe how many people voted WoW, the PvP in it is very bad indeed, dictated mainly by class and equipment, skill comes a distant third.
Across all the MMOs I have played I would say UO (pre-Trammel) was best for skirmish PvP, currently I would probably say EVE although the penalties for loosing are very high and as such it is pretty hardcore and takes several months to reach the point where you can compete.
For group PvP it has to currently be Guild Wars, although DAoC (pre-SI) was pretty good also.
For large scale is was DAoC (pre-SI) for keep/relic raids when the servers could cope, or Planetside (pre-CC). These days I dont think there is anything as good.
As EVE wasnt listed and all the others no longer exist due to expansion packs I ended up voting Guild Wars.

Well Lvcifer-- cant tutor ya in daoc it cause I dont play anymore. Basically I dont play because the ammount of time that game takes to do anythng is ridiculous. Logging on takes a while, loggin goff takes forever, getting a group to go RvR(realm vs realm) takes time. Although I had alot of fun daoc was bad for just blowing large amounts of time without having got anything done. I will say this however, go play on there new server--doesnt have alot of the stuff that people dislike....or you could play on the FFA server--pretty harsh learning curver however. If your dead set on playing it-try the free trial and I can give you a good idea on what class youd like to play based on your preferences.
Better yet-- go play Irth Online Beta. Many ex-uo guys are having a blast in that. Its open beta btw.
or-- you could play AC1
or you could just wait for some of the other good games like The Chronicle or Dark and Light--but Irth is gonna be one of those. If I could be Id be playing Irth but my vid card doesnt support a certain kind of shader so I cant play . Old computers suck dont they hehe.

Every game you do PVP it rellys on your equipment, your level and your skill :S Not just WOW! Also it doesn't relly on your class! It depends what class your good with.
Any class can beta any class despite what people say, there are some classes i find unplayable that my mate loves like Shaman! I can't play them what so ever, but he owns with them :P But i can own anything with a Druid or Shadow Priest.
Just don't see hwo people can say WOW's PVP is shit! It requires skill and you have to be careful as you can get ganled anywhere!

I dont know PVP To me has to have a purpose to it other then killing another person Online.. IE Killing a person in hopes to get his/her land, gear, Tower, Castle, ect

I think WOW comes in last since its rather a dissapointment PVP wise, expecially since it has the perfect set up for Realm vs Realm yet they rather have Diablo 2 gank fest and stupid Instance PVP areas that dont even work most of the time.... Hell they dont even have duel areas like DAOC and AO have. WSG and AV are fun at first but once you ask yourself what exactly is the point in me winning and then you come up with the answer... I voted for Guild Wars: it is the only game of that list (among with a few others like Anarchy, but their PVP isn't really worth calling) that I have played, and the PVP seems to be quite good, although I don't like PVP, I like weapons, armors, cash, looting and killing simple opponents, and PVP is not on that list.

Im not a huge fan of the pvp in wow. But wows pvp has no exploiting. O theres a lil but it lasts as long as maybe a day and then the devs catch the problem.
Your assesment of DAOC's pvp is crap. Unbalanced classes? Maybe unbalanced realms as a whole but I dont feel there are any pwn u all classes. WoWs warrior is more overpowered compared to any of daoc's classes. Warriors have higher sustained damage than mages, higher burst dps than rogues, are tanks with a crap load of healthpower, have a aoe fear and have charge.
Lvcifer- There are a couple classes you might look into playing. I dont know what your style is but here are some solid choices. Rangers of hib do good range damage, have nice self buffs and do good melee damage. If your looking for a pure archer of sorts, albion has Scouts and they do really good range damage. Bonedancers of Mid have pets that will heal them, and bonedancers also have a life transfer dd. Sorcerers of albion are alot of fun although they are soft targets. They have a aoe mez(stun) can have a pet, have some nice buffs and do generally good damage. Alb has a semi new class--healer/nuker/tank -cant remember the name of them though. Theres not alot of variety in daoc as far as how you build your charachter but there are a million and one interesting classes to play.
Best bet is to do some research on a daoc board or the official site.
SB all the way too, DAoC was pretty cool for the pvp but it was for that thing, the graphics, gameplay, etc i hated. SB was fun cause it gave you RPK in a way if you were trying to just level or farm so it created a constant watch for RPKers, that was the best. SB hands down the best mmorpg i've played period.
i say UO, but you have to go back about 5 years for that to count hehe. i would say it was at its peak about 98-99. ahh i miss those days.

Asheron's Call takes the cake on this one. The only reason it isn't winning the little poll is because like 90% of the people voting have never even played AC on the all PvP Darktide server.
And anyone choosing friggin' Guildwars PvP over Asheron's Call 1's Darktide server PvP sounds like an insane idiot to anyone who has truly ever played AC1 on the Darktide server. Or to anyone who knows about the "Bloods" and "Khaos" on Darktide.
It's obvious that mmo gaming is becoming extremely popular, but so ashamed that so few really know what true quality hardcore PvP actually is about. If they did, they would never, ever, ever pick a super stream-lined piece of crap pvp game like GuildWars over much more skill required and intense pvp like the old pre-Trammel UO and especially the frantic dodging spells and healing kit demanding Asheron's Call PvP on the Dakrtide server.
Just my two cents as an MMO player for 9 years ever since the earliest days of UO.
Out of those I put DAOC, I would vote EVE if it was up there.

Guild Wars PVP OWNS, it involves more skill then numbers and strength!
Runescape PVP is very good but its hardly skill, its more numbers and strength (which is good if u outnumber em) plus its a lot of fun
Definetly GW has the best PvP. No doubt about it. WoW's PvP is very easy and kiddish as all game is.
Shadowbane is basically the best hardcore PvP/Guild vs Guild/Nation vs Nation game.
Asheron's Call Darktide Server is PvP straight upon login., second best in PvP action.
AC 2 and DAoC tied a distant 3rd
WoW a far off 5th
L2 somewhere in the boonies 6th.
GW isn't an MMORPG, so I don't count it in these types of polls. It's a FPS with MMO qualities.
