I wonder if microsoft had their legal team take a good look at this prior to offering it on gamepass?
For including the game for free on the Game pass? Anything goes wrong legally it's the developers who will be held responsible, not the distributors like Steam or MS.

When i installed it last Friday on my brother's xbox, it had "preview version" plastered on the store page and was only 6gb download. When i bought and installed on PC this week, it was 15gb download.
I haven't been able to spot what's different between the two versions yet.

Only difference is the lack of dedicated servers. Xbox Preview is just their phrase for "Early Access."
I'm not saying this is the case here, but I have been wondering how these companies would consider litigation over similarities caused by using generative AI to help create their assets. A lawsuit against one company's use of AI could set precedents that impact the suing company as well. Say Palworld created these creatures using AI that had been trained on pokemon, it could result in creatures that look very similar. I'm sure we'll start to see situations like that in the coming years, but if all these companies are at least experimenting with the tech to avoid falling behind, would they be in a hurry to sue knowing that the outcome could impact everyone involved?

Seriously though what an absolute rout this is.
