    Guys

You all have the report feature. If people are trolling and flaming like Rha-el is doing can you please report it? I would have deleted his posts way earlier.

    Because it is.
You can play very little each day and still make significant progress in the game. Most quests can be accomplished very quickly as well. Which fits a casual players lifestyle well.

WOW is the ultimate casual MMORPG. It works for die hard folks too (till they hit the level cap anyway) but it really shines for the player who isn't in a huge rush to hit 60 and who only plays a couple hours, at most, a day. For them WoW will have value for years because they'll stay well behind the patch curve and always have new things to do.

For the powergamer they will burn through the limited content VERY quickly then come back whenever a new expansion hits and burn through that then go back to another game.

    Oh, and by the way:
Being a game that's good for casual players is a GOOD thing. That is specifically why WoW is SO SUCCESSFUL. Because the VAST majority of people who play video games don't have 10 hours a day to waste on computer games. The VAST majority only have a couple hours to spend, at most, and want to be able to achieve something in that timeframe. WoW caters VERY well to that VERY large community.

I personally like EQ2 better than WoW. It's a deeper game. But I play both. Because my best friend plays WoW and it's just a blast to play any game with your best friend. We hop on the phone and talk all night while we play. Personally I wish he'd go to EQ2 but he can't peel his wife out of WoW so we're stuck with it since they can't afford 2 MMO's and I can.

Currently Playing: Dungeons and Dragons Online.

    Rha-El

I heavily suggest you to take a break from that keyboard or your forum privileges will be revoked permanently

...and for the record. Calling Lineage 2 a korean-style mmorpg is NOT racist (google Korean-Style mmorpgs). You may want to re review your defintion on what racism means. Also please look at our rules of conduct to understand what flaming and trolling means here.

I read the original post, nowhere does it say Lineage 2 is for "Korean people"

The exact phrase used was "korean style."

Games, TV shows, films, are ALL influenced by local culture. To suggest a film is very japanese is NOT racist, it merely implies that it is very much like most films made in Japan, which have an obvious difference in style, cinamatography, story telling and so on to Hollwood films. The types of game made in France, or the UK or Japan or Korea DO vary greatly, EVERYONE knows this.

As I understand it, large amount of XP per level, grinding endless numbers of mobs, PKing, almost unreachable level cap and so on are trade marks of mmorpgs made in korea. Sure, EQ may have been a bit like that too, but in the US and Northern Europe gameplay has moved on, whereas in Korea it has not.

EQ2 and WoW are the latest of the 2nd gen mmorpgs, and they are ONLY a grind if you want them to be. In Korean-style games you have no choice, they make them that way. EQ2 and woW are vastly different in style to Lineage.

The only person who sees racism in this thread is YOU, Rha, the only person trolling nonsense if YOU, the only person flaming and being abusive is you.

So instead...let's play a crappy PKing grindfest where you can NEVER get to max level because the company raises max level whenever someone gets near it so their subscriptions don't get low.  Instead of like Blizzard who actually puts in NEW content.
Yes...let's do that...and while we're at it...why don't we play any of the billions of Korean-style, mouseclick to move (eeeeeeeew!!!), no-quests, no-skills, 50 hours to get to lvl 10 (and pick your first non-vagrant profession) clone-MMOs that are out there...AND FREE.

Read this again tell me how he uses the term "korean-style" in the context of what he is saying?  Sounds like his being pretty damn derogatory, not to mention has no fcking idea about Lineage 2 as a game whatsoever.  I dont see you cracking down on his ignorance do I MODERATOR?

    Rha

You are right. His comments ARE derogatory. However they are directed ONLY at the game, NOT at the Korean people as a whole. If I were to claim that England is rubbish at Baseball, would you say that my remark is racist? Surely it follows that ALL English people are rubbish in general, right? No, ofcourse not.  How about, ALL Russian films a crap! Is THAT racist? Am I now suggesting that ALL Russians are crap?

Just because he considers "korean-style" MMORPGS to be crap, does not mean he considers Koreans to be inferior, nor even that other products produced by Korea to be crap, ONLY MMORPGs are referred to here.

It is obvious that you do not even KNOW what true racism is, and that you have some serious issues. When you have been the victim of TRUE racism you will be better qualified to comment, and far less swift to judge.

Rha, I've appologized for including the term Korean-style in that post.  I never meant it as a racist slur and I'm sorry if you interpreted it that way.  I could have left the term out and everyone would have known what type of GAME I was talking about anyway...because that's what the term describes (in fact I've seen it used on here quite a few times, and it's probably where I picked it up from myself).

    Again...peace...

WoW is balanced, if you get to level 60 you create a alt but if you want to go more in depth, then you join a guild and do raids and whatnot. There is also a lot of stuff to do like maxing out fishing, mastering your job, getting a epic mount, getting legendaries/epic, pvping till you reach the 14th rank (REALLLLLLLLY HARD).

For the casual side, you are not that far off from strength if you have all blue items vs a person with all purple items. Leveling is pretty simple to do but if you want to be exalted into another area then it is not really that casual. It all depends on your playstyle, might fit some, might not fit others.

    Racism
1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
2 : racial prejudice or discrimination

I feel sorry for this new race of people called " MMORPGs"... I mean, have a heart Hadz, then games have if bad enough already.

Rha-El you are not making a valid point at all.

The US has some "Korean-Syle" Mmorpgs, like Flyff, Rose Online, etc.

I am glad you continued to push your point though, because now we all get to enjoy the moderator banning you.

Here are some examples of what you think is racism here:
I am going to buy a cheap "Japanese style" car.
    I hate "mexican style" food.

Its really sad that you have not realized that you are WRONG yet. So many people have posted against you , not even being mean or pushy about it. Well read the definition of racism and bask in your stupidity.

    Good Night.

    Just like others say.

1-60 very casual. After that if you want to exp the post 60 content apart from the usual 4 quick to bore dungeons then its a massive grind and becoming almost like EQ1.I seen many people kicked from their guilds because they failed to attend DAILY 4 hour raids in MC!

Don't say this does not happen as we have taken many of this people in my guild as we do MC but twice a week and due to many of us been workers/students we rarely clear it before the reset timer.

Yeah guess you can re roll an alt but how long before you get bored of doing same old over and over again?

The pvp is also a grind .Take AB.It takes approximately 350 wins(each fight taking 15-25 mins) to get exhalted and gain the nice rewards.Imagine doing a 15 vs 15 man chase over and over in a very small area 350 times! now even EQ1 never had this lol.

yea my bros guild, which is on of the top PvE guilds in WoW has strict policies of attendance.
When they were learning the encounters in the new raid dungeons, he was raiding, 6-8hours a day, (6pm to 12/2am) every day, more on the weekends at time.

They rotate people off so that not everyones up that late every night, but if your hardcore.. there is oppertunities for you.
